Memories: Autumn
The Difference Is
Her footsteps scatter from leaf to leaf, she wobbles and hops back on her feet. The cool air caresses her cheek and she pulls off her scarf, ready to jump into a pile of colorful leaves. Something stops her and she can recognize his touch anywhere.
They sit on a bench and talk about frivolous things. Until he brings up ‘graduation, life, future…’
She shakes her head at that and pretends not to hear him. “Sehun, let’s just forget about the future and just live however the hell we want to.”
Sehun’s eyes widen at this, and for a moment he denies it, but slowly accepts her statement.
“I can’t imagine a future without you there.”
“Oh really?” She scoffs and puts her hair into a messy bun. Her hair has gotten longer, and Sehun is a little sad because he liked her short, youthful looking hair.
The length made her seem older, more mature. Yet, she hasn’t changed a bit since grade school.
Sehun lights up into a smile as he jumps into the heap of leaves with her, hand in hand, his eyes lift up into half moons.
“A future without me? That’s impossible. I’ll always be there, even if you don’t want me to.”
“What if you are..My future…”
“Me?” She blushes at that, she doesn’t really know what he means but his soft voice makes her flustered.
Sehun grins, and throws a bunch of leaves at her face.
She avoids his eyes, and he brushes her hair, the leaves fall to her shoulders.
“You alright?” He lowers his head and moves her bangs, afraid she might be crying.
She was grinning like a hapless fool.
