Prologue

 

One Year Ago

    "Baekhyun," I held in my breath, the fear of rejection was holding me back. *Don't let that scare you, Hwang Eun Chae!* Baekhyun crossed his arms and looked at me with a bored expression.   "I, think I have feelings for you." The words escaped my mouth.   I looked up, hoping to see a smiling and happy Baekhyun, but no, the expression on his face made my heart break. He scoffed and rolled his eyes, walking past me, harshly hitting his shoulder against mine.   I stumbled back and tried to stay on my feet. I turned around with tearful eyes, he walked strongly down the hall, not bothering to look back.   I harshly bit my lip and turned around and walked gloomily down the hall of the school. *Quick and painful, huh?*   "How did it go?" My best-friend, Luhan asked.    I looked up at Lu Han, he could immediately tell by my expression it didn't go to well. Luhan sighed softly and pulled me into an embrace.   Luhan has been my best friend for about a year now, he transferred to my school one day at the start of the year. He didn't leave my side, if I had to admit, I was scared he was following me everywhere but after a while I began to become closer with him.   He muttered against my hair, "he doesn't deserve someone as great as you."    Although my heart was breaking bit by bit, I managed to smile, I always hated showing pain. "Thanks, Lu." Luhan pulled away from me and smiled.   "Things will get better."     

 

Present

    You smiled softly at the picture in your hand, *rest in peace Umma.* You let the tears drip down my cheeks as you carefully placed the picture frame at the top of the pile of clothes in your suitcase.   The soft sigh escaped your lips, you swiftly zipped the suitcase up in one quick and fluid motion.   You looked around your bare room one last time and then pulled the suitcase out behind you, away from the room. You dragged the suitcase down the stairs.   "You ready, princess?"    Your mother's best friend, and your lifesaver, Mr. Lee, offered to let you stay with him until you get back on my feet. You weakly smiled and used the sleeve of your cardigan to wipe away the lingering tears.   "Ready." You weakly smiled.    Mr. Lee extended him arm and took the suitcase, "let me take that for you."    "Thank you ahjussi." You bowed as walked out of the door of your house.   Mr. Lee unlock
