“Kyung Mi ssi!!”

You sighed and stopped, your hand on the office door’s handle. You turned around to see Sojin, your assistant, rushing with papers in her hands.

“yes dear.”

“Min hye just got back from the interview and sajangnim decided it had to be in your article.” She could see you were keen to leave and her apologetic face made you chuckle.

“alright, I’ll take that, thank you. I’m leaving now!”

“good evening!” she bowed and went back in the office. She was new but you already liked her.

You worked at the firm for about 2 years and a half now. Writing was your hobby since high school and you decided to make it your job. And so you ended up as a journalist for a few magazines. You loved your job seeing as it was so varied going from fashion to the musical industry, you wrote about almost everything regarding entertainment.

But now was not time to think of your next article. You were going to have a lovely night with your one and only.

Minho and you met less than 2 years ago when you were on an assignment; you were interviewing the fashion designer who was responsible for the event he was in. Choi Minho was a model and you hadn’t doubted that when you saw him. The fashion designer described him as the best in the job these days and you were pretty sure he was.

When he came to sit and answer your questions you were so surprised your pen fell. He was taller than most models in the agency and his brown hair fell in curls over his small face. He had chuckled before picking up your pen and handing it to you but you were too dazed by his big brown eyes you almost forgot to take your pen. You were so embarrassed you hadn’t looked up during the rest of the interview but you could see him from the corner of your eyes smiling at you. After the interview was done you had stayed for the show. When it ended Minho came to thank you personally and asked you to dinner. It had grown into your present relationship from then on. You had previous relationships before but they hadn’t turned out as successful; some men could only be jerks.

You were drying your hands, standing in the kitchen, smiling as you remembered how it all started. You were so deep in thought you hadn’t heard the door open and only realized Minho was home when he hugged you, his arms tightening on your waist and his head nuzzling your neck. You chuckled putting your hands over his.

“are you ready” he whispered.

“yup! Let me get my bag and we can head out”

You turned to leave but he tugged on your arm, making you face him. You gave him a questioning look and he answered by pecking your nose.

“now go get your bag.”

You didn’t know which restaurant he was taking you to but you knew from previous dates that it would be quite fancy. He parked the car in a street and you were both walking towards the restaurant. Your heart jumped in surprise and delight when you felt his fingers intertwine with yours. You had been going out for almost 2 years and you both shared an apartment for 3 months now but Minho still managed to take your breath and make your heart race. You turned to him and smiled.

“You look stunning yet again Mimi” he said smiling back. He was the only one who called you Mimi and you liked it.

“you’re too sweet to me. You, on the other hand, look so very handsome.”

And he was. He could have been wearing a flower dress and it would suit him. But since he knew you liked seeing him in simple attire he was wearing grey jeans, a V-neck white t-shirt and a black leather jacket on top. You chose your favorite dress; a dark red colored mini. It was fancy but casual.

You weren’t wrong; the restaurant was indeed fancy and the meals were highly enjoyable.

As you left the place Minho asked you if you were tired.

“no, not yet. How about we take a walk?”

He nodded and took your hand. Being downtown he knew exactly where to take you.

You were walking in a tree filled park. The weather was hot during the day but it cooled to a perfect temperature in the night. There was even a nice breeze from time to time.

Minho suddenly stopped walking and you turned back alarmed. He chuckled and you were even more confused.

“what….”

“I just wanted to see your hair, like this, in the wind.” You laughed hiding your face in your hands.

You ran back to him and pulled him forward. You both ended up running up the hill until you stopped at the entrance of a tower.

“Minho. Oh my god Minho.” You were in awe because you stood before the Namsan tower. You’ve wanted to come here with a loved one so many times before but you never had time; you always had an article to type up or an interview to conduct or even a meeting to attend. And, let’s not hide it; your previous “loved ones” weren’t really worth it.

“I know. I wanted to be the one to bring you here” he said hugging you from the back again.

As you went up the elevator you took his hand in yours again while biting your lips and looking down in shyness. Minho wasn’t the skinship king but since he was trying tonight you helped him a bit.

“woah…” The view was breath taking. You ran to the fence and gaped at the sight.

The buildings were all alit and sparkled in the night. Their light gave a glow to the surrounding mountains and you couldn’t take your eyes off of the scenery.

You turned to Minho and hugged him tightly.

“you are so wonderful to me”

“I’m glad it made you this happy baby.”

You let go and looked him in the eyes. You were so happy you almost teared up.

“oh let’s write our wishes!” he said holding up two padlocks. You smiled taking the green one as he handed you a pen.

Once you were done, you both hanged them in a rather empty spot on the fence.

“can I see what you wrote” you said but Minho was trying to keep you from reaching his padlock.

“come on, let me see! You can see mine as well.” He hesitated for a while but then let you go and turned to read your wish.

After reading each other’s locks you both looked up a bit shocked.

“you….you weren’t looking when I was writing it right Mimi?” he asked. You shook your head.

Slowly the both of you smiled. And as his lips met yours in a soft, slow kiss, your heartbeat sped up and you let your tears roll down your face.

What he wrote: I wish for the heavens to protect our love, and to let me protect her, for this lifetime.
