Author's Note: Tao is 18 while Xiumin is 22 in here. Also it's rather short, sorry for that :/

"Gege, gege, let's play together please?", little 4 year old Tao asked his most loved second brother.

"Sure, ge will play with you. What do you want to play Tao-zi?", 8 year old Xiumin replied.

"Everything that makes ge happy!"

"Ok, do you want to play hide and seek then?", the older cheerfully asked.

"Nooo~", Tao was suddenly all pouty.

"Huh? Why not?"

"Because I don't like being seperated from gege!"

Little Tao stomped his foot repeatedly on the ground to emphazise his disagreement. It made the mandu boy laugh.

"Alrighty then let's doodle! Gege will draw you something nice!", Xiumin gave a wide smile.

"Yaa~y!"

14 years later...

Magnolia trees were blooming all around the palace. They were his favourite flowers. Tao lazily leaned against the trunk of one of the palace's magnolia trees, one that was the farthes of all in the inner court. He plucked on of it's beautiful flowers and regarded it.

'Ge, today you'll return to me. Today I'll make you mine.'

A sly smirk crept onto his lips as he thought about everything he'd do with the second prince of Wu. The same cute prince who stole his heart years back. The same cheerful, chubby, adorable man who was always nice to him. The second prince had to leave the empire months ago. Together with the third prince he had been sent to the far kingdom of Silla (S.K. old name, wiki'ed it lol) to eventually form an alliance with the king. Today both Xiumin and Luhan were finally going to return and the thought of seeing both sound and safe made Tao slightly giddy. Oh, how he missed their embraces and kind words, especially Xiumin's. The second prince was always his favorite brother because he'd always take the time to be with Tao no matter what. Tao remembered a time when the short man was scolded for spoiling the youngest by their oldest brother.

'Stupid Wufan-ge' the sixth prince pouted. 'It's not like he isn't spoiling Chen-ge.'

That's right. Tao had noticed how hyper aware the next emperor became whenever he was near their fragile brother.

'He might be a little bit weak conditioned but that doesn't mean he'll break when you sneeze in his direction, jeez.'

The oldest prince always scolded others for potentially hurting the fifth son of Wu. In front of Chen himself he'd always be awkward and therefor Wufan would rather keep distance.

Suddenly Tao heard footsteps which were slowly approaching him. He already knew who it was because the soft, careful steps gave it away. Also he didn't bother to look up and greet that person.

"Tao.", the fourth prince of Wu, Yixing greeted him. The younger one simply replied with a grunt. Although everyone else outside of his family would rate his behaviour as immature the princes understood that Tao was slightly awkward with greetings, so Yixing took the grunt well and smiled in return.

"Tao, you seem happy", he sat down besides his younger brother. The latter didn't reply and just held up the flower. It was enough for Yixing to understand the reason.

"Yes, I've missed them, too. How long was it now? Eight?", the forgetful prince asked.

"Actually it was only seven months ago when they left", Tao replied.

"Oh",  again a warm smile, "seven then. I wonder if they brought back something good?"

Speaking of that. The sixth prince also hoped that his Ges brought some gifts. Especially he hoped for food. A local delicacy would be good.

Suddenly the loud sounds of trumpets in the outer court could be heard, announcing the return of the two sons of Wu. Both Yixing and Tao stood up from their spot to greet their beloved brothers. As they walked out of the inner court Tao couldn't help but wonder whether Xiumin missed him too.

'Of course he did', he encourages himself. Today he couldn't waver from his plan. When they both arrived at the outer court the other two princes Wufan and Chen were already assembled with half of the palace's servants.

"Xiu-ge", the fifth prince affectionally called. Although he was nice to everyone Tao couldn't help but get slightly jealous at the tone his older brother used. He noticed someone else twitching in annoyance, too. Of course it was the oldest brother with his gloomy aura. The youngest was afraid that the next king would scold someone again but luckily he refrained from it because their fragile brother began to slightly tremble from the cold wind.

"Chen, take this", Wufan gave him his silk coat.

Finally the clacking of horse shoes were audible and soon both Luhan and Xiumin and their trusted eunuchs entered the outer court.

"Welcome home. You have had a long journey. It is best if you rest before we will settle things."

All the servants rushed towards the tired princes as on cue. Xiumin and Luhan were lead to their chambers while their things were carefully brought into the palace. When the second son was alone Tao would take his chance. The sixth prince had thought about his plan carefully weeks before, he was confident in his skills since he had developed the plan himself and excercised it with the palace's maids.

Step one: Approach him with THE y aura that only the first born and the last born possessed (Yixing and Chen were too gentle whereas Luhan and Xiumin were too cute).

As soon as most of the maids and eunuchs left Xiumin's chamber Tao entered it. He narrowed his eyes slighty to a y glare, the maids would always swoon over it.

"Xiu-ge, welcome home", Tao said as he approached the older man.

"Ah, Tao, it's been long, how ar-", Xiumin stopped in mid-sentences upon seeing the others gaze. Taking it as a positive sign the panda prince tried to express all his desire and passion for his older brother in his eyes.

"Uhh....Tao-zo....are you mad at me?", the mandu prince hesistantly asked.

"What?"

"Are you somehow mad at me? Have I done something wrong?"

The older prince was confusing him.

"No, why would you?"

"Oh, good. Uh...never mind, must've been a misunderstanding from my side!, the shorter laughed. "Woow, you have grown much more mature~!", he rambled on as if nothing happened. Clearly he did not get Tao's message.

Step one: fail.

Tao proceeded to step two: Flirt with him in a secret way by using body language and contact.

Tao sat on his brother's bed and lazily leaned against the headboard. It was a gesture of open invitaion much alike the 'come hither'-finger motion but not as obvious as that. Xiumin, after changing cloths slumped down beside him. Perfect.

Slyly he s one arm around the older's shoulder. The other hand he'accidently' put on the other's thigh. They remained like this for a while, the second prince not affected by the bold moves at all.

"Tao-zi you are so affectionate today. Did you miss ge that much?", he joked.

"Yes, very."

"Aaaaaaw, you are so cuuute. My cutie pie of brother~~!", the second oldest sat up and pinched Tao's cheeks while cooing how adorable the youngest was. He wasn't likely flirting back. At all.

Step two: failed.

The last step was his last chance. The younger man didn't know what else to do if this plan also failed. Why wasn't his brother affected anyway? Every other human would have already fainted!

Step three: Send him gifts to show your affection and love.

Later that day Tao carefully plucked Magnolias himself and sent them together with some peachbuns to his older brother. What he didn't notice was that he forgot to write his name on the gift. So when he hid behind a bush to watch his favorite brother's reaction to his amazing idea he had to realize that this plan would also not go as he planned.

"Prince, we found a gift for you. But we don't know who it is from.", an eunuch worriedly said. "I suggest you to throw it away."

"No", the mandu prince answered. "It is a gift, even if it might be dangerous. We don't know yet, so it would be impudent to just throw it out. Let me see what it is."

He motioned the eunuch to bring him the package.

'Huh? I forgot to write my name?', Tao sweatdropped.

"Oh, how nice, Magnolias and Shou Taos! Surely the sender must know me well, since only a few know how much I love these things. In fact only my brothers know! I think this is either Yixing's or Chen's!!! Those sillies always are so forgetful! Hmmmm, I think it was from Chen!! He often sends gifts to all his brothers, that cutie", the second prince stood up and walked away. "Let's go visit and thank him!"

Thruth be told, Chen did often give presents. So often in fact that tends to forget when he sends what. Tao knew. So in the end his plan resulted in Xiumin bonding even more with Chen.

Step three: failed.

At the end of the day the sixth son of Wu couldn't manage to win over his beloved's heart. Tao sat at the Magnolia tree again and silently sulked over his failures. Would he ever be able to love the shorter man freely? Who knew that seducing his brother was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more harder than it was with the maids and eunuchs? How foolish of him to think that. Xiumin was not like the others. He was special. So of course he'd react differently.

All lost in his thoughts Tao didn't notice a figure approaching him, although he usually was the most attentive prince. It was only when another shoulder bumped his that he looked up. Xiumin smiled at him. And he was holding the plate of buns Tao gave him secretly.

"What's the matter Tao? You seem so pensive. Is there something that bothers you?"

Although he was quiet surprised by the other's sudden concern he replied: "No. Everything is fine, ge."

"Really? Than that's fine. But tell me if there is something. I want to help you. Oh, here eat this, it'll surely cheer you up!", he reached for a bun and offered it to the younger prince. Tao took it and sighed. Both of them sat in silence after that, munching the sweet. Finally the sixth prince decided to speak up.

"Actually, ge....there has been something bothering me....something that I've always wanted to tell you."

The older turned around and directed his full attention at his younger brother.

"Really? Well, what is it?"

"I like you, really. Do you like me?"

It seems that the other still didn't get a hint because he only answered with:

"Of course I do."

It was a slap in the face for the panda prince. His older brother was so dense. Under other circumstances he would have swooned over the cuteness but now.....now it was he most painful thing he ever experienced. More than any bruise or injury he ever got.

"But do you love me?", he desperatley asked again.

"Yes, why wouldn't I?", the older asked back. It was truly frustrating. Not being able to take it anymore Tao turned away and hung his shoulders and head.

"You don't love me like I love you. And I love you more than I should", he silently confessed.

"I do."

The reply made the youngest whip his head back in such a fast and sudden movement that one would be afraid for it to fall off.

"Huh?", not the most intelligent reply. Xiumin just slightly giggled and scooted closer to the taller.

"I said: I do. I like you way to much, Tao. And I always will, that I promise."

And he sealed his promise with a peck on the lips.
