The voice is so familiar. I've heard it somewhere.
"Minki-ah."
It was a women this time. This voice...so soft...so warm. Like a blanket. Like...like...
"Minki-ah."
Who are you?
"Minki."
Back to the gravely male voice.
"Minki."
Who are you? Tell me please. Who are you?
"Minki-ah. We love you. We love you."
W-who? Who are you two?
"Minki." The last call was a whisper. It was wispy and weak. I felt the breath of the speaker tickle my face. The scent of brine and charcoal lingered. Then I opened my eyes.
Silently, tears rolled down my face and with a shaky breath, I questioned into the emptyness:
"Mom?"
No answer.
"D-dad?"
No answer.
And there will never be an answer.
