Four-ty

Someone I Hadn't Planned on Living With

Soo Jin's P.O.V

I can start off with a creepy question, right? Of course I can. Okay, here it is.

Who in the heck eats grape salad?

Random, I guess. I would never guess that Mrs. Oh had a secret grape . She really enjoys a bunch of random colored grapes, cut in half, placed into a bowl with a spoon.

Huh. I learn something new everyday.

Ever since Se Hun invited me over to his lovely abode, his Mom and I sort of got attached. Is that weird? I don't know... She's like a second mother to me, now. With my actual mother in the states, I get pretty lonely sometimes.

Last week, when a water pipe burst in my apartment, I found out that I really needed a place to stay while there were people working on the crazy water levels in my room. They figured that it would take about a week. When Mrs. Oh found out about my situation over dinner one night, she had been kind enough to offer her guestroom while I politely declined about a dozen of times. She literally drove me home, packed a suitcase full of my belongings and drove me back to her house.

Mrs. Oh is a pretty stubborn lady.

I didn't mind, of course. In fact, I was glad that I could be spending more time with her and Se Hun.

I wonder how she will react when she finds out that I'm actually not his girlfriend.

Right now, I guess I could say that I was sitting in a pool of pain. Pretending to be Se Hun's girlfriend wasn't exactly easy when we were supposed to act all lovey-dovey. Here I was, trying to soak up every moment of this little segment of 'pretend' while Se Hun was probably shuddering and feeling guilty for acting like this when I was supposed to be 'just a friend.'

Flashback--

On the third night, when I was just getting the hang of things, I somehow ended up in the kitchen at about two in the morning. You could say that I was hungry. Heck, I'm always hungry.

The rest of the house was sleeping, so I was sure to sneak a jar of freshly cut honeydew melons out of the fridge as quietly as I could. The tiled floor was cold against my bare feet. I loved the feeling.

I grabbed a silver fork and headed to the island, and propped myself onto one of the tall chairs by the island.

I glanced around the kitchen while opening the rubber lid. Since the lights were all off, I could clearly see the moon underneath her skylight. It was glowing beautifully over the several stars in the sky.

Did I mention how different the room looked in the dark?

I slowly bit into the medium sized piece of honeydew and savored the sweet and juicy flavor. The sound of my quiet crunching filled the whole room.

"Jin? Is that you?" A hoarse voice asks, immediately making me jump. As the figure stepped out of the shadows and into the moonlight, I sighed in relief. It was just Se Hun. Oh, what am I even talking about? Just Se Hun? I was even becoming nervous by the thought of the two of us actually being alone.

"Hey," I greet quietly. "What brings you here?" I ask casually while biting into another melon. Man, summer was literally the best time for them.

Se Hun smiles as he grabs a glass and fills it from the pitcher of water that sits on the countertop. "I was just thirsty."

I nod slowly. Man, this was awkward. I take a glance at his disheveled figure. His brown hair was slightly ruffled while his pale skin glowed. I gulped.

That's right. Eyes on the face.

He pulls out a chair next to me and sits down, glancing at the fruit.

"So I assume you were hungry at this late hour?" There's a teasing edge in his voice that I can't seem to shake off.

I laugh quietly. "Yeah. You know... me and my stomach.." How incredibly dorky was that answer? Se Hun smiles while taking another swig of water.

I slowly bite into another green melon while away the fresh and cold juice from my mouth. Awkward enough, though, I look up to see Se Hun glancing at my lips.

I gulp before self consciously shoving the rest of the melon in my mouth.

I was never used to people looking at me like that. Especially when these 'people' are attractive boys who get out of bed in the middle of the night.

How rude of me. I should've offered some. "Would you like a piece?" I ask, stabbing another one with my fork. I wiggle it in front of Se Hun's face while grinning.

He looks up at me with a slight smile on his face. I press it to his lips. "Come on... it tastes really sweet." Plus it's good for you.

As I look up into his soft brown eyes, I can't help but wonder what we would be doing right now if we actually dated. I mean, would we really be this awkward? Would we be laughing together? Would he be kissing me?

He slowly opens his mouth and takes in the fresh piece of fruit. The sound of soft chewing is heard in the peaceful kitchen.

All of a sudden, Se Hun's pale fingers graze my shoulder, making me jump at the contact. They trace down my shoulder and to the fallen strap of my nightgown. The path feels light and tingly. He softly drops the cotton strap back into place, before his eyes travel from my shoulder, to my neck, to my lips, and finally, to my eyes.

I couldn't help but feel extremely exposed.

Suddenly, I wasn't hungry anymore. How could I be when I knew that I was hopelessly in love with Se Hun?

He was probably teasing me like he always did to make our relationship seem believable to his parents. Only... his parents weren't here this time.

Se Hun's P.O.V

I have a dilema. I've come to a decision where I'm almost positive of what I'm going to do.

I want to ask Soo Jin to be my girlfriend.

I know, I know. I was planning to wait. I really was. But lately, she's literally at my house all the time, and I can't help but feel extremely comfortable with her. I can almost expect her glowing figure to be sitting at my glass table, peeling grapes while laughing at my own mother's not-so-funny jokes after training.

It's like we're already together.

The one thing we haven't really done is... kiss.

And let me tell you, there were many incidents where I wanted to.

Flashback.---- A week ago.

I toss and turn in my bed, and decide that I cannot fall asleep. What was it about Soo Jin being here that I couldn't even fall asleep? I was frustrated with myself, and a little at life, too.

Maybe I needed some water.

I head downstairs to the kitchen, making sure that I was careful. My Mother was probably sleeping. My father was currently on a business trip in Japan, so I didn't have to worry about anyone sitting in the middle of the kitchen eating leftover pasta.

As I enter the kitchen, I see a figure sitting by the island, biting into what I think is... a piece of fruit?

Ah.. It's Soo Jin. I chuckle to myself before calling out, "Jin? Is that you?"

She looks up, clearly surprised. As she recovers, she smiles. "Hey, what brings you here?" I stride over to grab a glas and fill it with some water. "I was just thirsty," I reply.

I take a seat next to her while taking a sip of water. "I assume you were hungry at this late hour?" The statement sounded like a question with a bit of a sarcastic edge. I could tell that she hated it when I too much.

"Yeah. You know... me and my stomach." She nods a bit, looking off to the side. Her long hair drapes down her back. I couldn't help but also notice that sheer nightgown that she was wearing. She looked so simple and innocent. I would be lying if I said that I wasn't attracted at all.

Soo Jin proceeds to eat some more fruit, chewing carefully from her fork. My eyes automatically cast down to her rosy lips as she chews slowly. Her pink tongue sweeps out to catch the extra juice from the melon.

I gulp.

She quickly shoves the rest of the piece shyly into . "Would you like a piece?" Soo Jin grins, her wide eyes innocently as she waves a piece in my face. "Come on... it tastes really sweet.

My eyes wouldn't leave her lips. Yes.. sweet...

I open my mouth anyway and chew the cold piece of fruit. It tastes so much better than my glass of bland water.

Before I turn away, I notice the thin strap of her nightgown slipping down her pale shoulder. Of course, being Soo Jin, she was too busy looking for another melon before I reach out to fix it for her.

Did she even know what she was doing to me?

I gulp before pulling away. She seems flustered and embarrassed.

I chuckle before standing up and walking back to my room. Ever since I found out about her feelings, it made every situation we were in different.

But this was even more. Was it because, maybe I, too, finally freely admitted that I liked her?
