“No! No, no, no!”

The photographer, Hong, set down his camera, rubbing his forehead.

“I need you to be more…happy? Is this too much to ask for?”

Jihyun frowned, she hadn’t been in the modeling industry long but she had never had this much trouble with a shoot.

She smiled as he pushed down the button.

He shrugged, better than nothing.

“Okay, better. Can you do some aegyo?” he asked.

Jihyun looked at her manager, giving him a questioning look.

“Be cute Jihyun.”, Hong said.

Again, she just smiled.

“No, no.” He shook his head, “Okay, take five and we’ll come back. Maybe then you’ll understand.”

Jihyun dragged her feet as she made her way to the make-up chair.

“It’s okay.” said her manager.

“I don’t know how to be cute.” she blinked, “How is that okay?”

He thought about it, “Okay…you just need to work on it, it’s fine.”

She leaned her head on the table.

“Miss Kim!” scolded the stylist, “Your make-up!”

Quickly she lifted her head up, “Sorry unnie~” she sang.

The stylist chuckled, “Aegyo is not that difficult sweetheart.”

She closed her eyes as they dabbed the brush in some powder, lightly applying it to her face.

“BtoB is here for their shoot!”

Jihyun turned around curiously, “BtoB?” she looked at the stylist.

“They’re a new idol group.” she explained.

“Oh.” Jihyun nodded.

“BORN TO BEAT! Annyeonghaseyo, BtoB ibnida.”

She saw seven handsome boys bow in the mirror.

“You boys are early.” said the photographer, “I like that.”

They all smiled, “Let me finish shooting with this model, until then you can get your wardrobe, hair, and make-up done.”

They nodded and were led in Jihyun’s direction. Before they could reach her, Hong called for her.

“Let’s try this again.” he sighed, bringing out his camera.

Jihyun took a deep breath before focusing on the task at hand.

Ten minutes later it was still the same.

“Oh this child.” Hong looked up, “Why me?”

Jihyun frowned, “Okay, take another five.” he sighed.

“Manager Kwon~” Jihyun whined.

He chuckled, “You can’t improve in five minutes Jihyun.”

“Then why’d you book this for me if you knew I couldn’t be cute?”

He laughed, “This isn’t funny!” she stomped her foot.

“Oh it is!” he clutched his stomach.

Jihyun rolled her eyes and walked into a hallway, needing to be alone.

“You can do this Jihyun.” she told herself, “Be…cute.”

“Need help?” She turned, a small gasp escaping her lips.

“Sorry?” she asked.

The boy chuckled, making her heart flutter.

“I’m sorry, you just look like you needed some assistance.”

“Oh.” she swallowed, “Uhm…”

“So do you?” he asked, leaning against the wall.

She blinked, “Do you know how to do aegyo?”

He chuckled, “Okay, it was a long shot.” she sighed, ready to walk away.

“No, no.” he gently grabbed her arm, “Stay, I can help.”

Jihyun raised a brow, “You? Help me? With aegyo?”

He nodded proudly, “Changsub ibnida, BtoB’s aegyo king at your service.” he bowed.

She giggled, “Jihyun, new model.” she bowed back.

“Ah, so aegyo is very simple.” he explained. “You have a cute face so it won’t be that difficult to teach.”

In four minutes they both had laughed so much from her copying his poses.

“Okay, I’m the photographer!” he grabbed his phone. “One~ two~ three!”

Jihyun posed and he clicked a button, taking a picture of her.

“How was that?” she asked.

Changsub looked at the photo, then at her. “Perfect.” he stared at her with a smile.

“JIHYUN!” Manager Kwon came out, “Back on set please~”

She nodded, “Yes sir.”

He raised a brow as she turned to face Changsub, “Thank you so much.”

Changsub shook his head, “My pleasure.”

Jihyun began walking with her manager to the set.

“Miss Kim.” Hong sighed, “Don’t make me regret picking you for this.”

She looked out and saw Changsub, he smiled and whispered “Hwaiting!”

“I won’t sir.” she smiled.

She did exactly what her and Changsub had practiced.

“YES!” Hong smiled, “Finally! The Gods have received my prayer!”

Jihyun giggled and continued as he snapped more shots.

After a half hour, Hong had plenty of photos to choose from.

“And that’s a wrap!” he smiled, setting down his camera.

“Good job Miss Kim.” he complimented, “You’re a fast learner.”

Catching sight of Changsub she smiled, “Thank you sir, but I had some help.”

He nodded, “Well, can I get the first two BtoB members?”

As she stepped back into one of the dressing rooms she changed quickly into her previous clothes.

“Miss Kim, the company said you can keep one set of clothing and a piece of jewelry.”

She beamed, “Really?!”

“Mhm, the rack is right there.”

Jihyun made grabby hands as she choose the items. The stylist grabbed a bag and placed them inside. “Thank you~” She skipped out of

the room and nearly crashed into someone.

“Oh, I’m sorry!” she bowed ninety degrees.

“Oh no, it was my fault…” his voice trailed off as they met eyes.

“Changsub!” she beamed.

He smiled, “Good job out there, more shoots like that and you’ll be supermodel status in no time.”

Jihyun blushed, “Well I couldn’t have done it without you.”

“Changsub! We need you with Hyunsik!”

He sighed and turned around, “On my way!”

Jihyun frowned slightly, “Well, I should probably get going.” she said.

“Uhm, wait.” he held her wrist gently, “Can I have your number?”

She tried to hide her excitement, “You know…uhm…just in case you need another aegyo lesson or…if you want to grab some coffee…”

Jihyun nodded, “I’d like that.”

He let out a small breath as he pulled out his phone. They exchanged numbers quickly and he skipped back to the set.

“Jihyun, let’s go!” Her manager linked arms with her.

She looked back and waved at Changsub, he winked at her and she let out a light squeal.

“Gwenchana?” her Manager Kwon asked.

“Mhm.” she beamed as they exited the building.

As she got into the car her phone vibrated.


“From Changsub:

Thursday @ 11am?”


She smiled. “Can’t wait.”
