Time seemed to freeze then; neither Jaehyo nor Yukwon wanted to break eye contact.  Minyoung felt like she was miles away, lost in thoughts.

Jaehyo was the first to look away.  “I guess I’ll see you around then, Minyoung.  See you at school tomorrow.”  He grabbed his backpack off of the counter and stalked out of the restaurant.

Minyoung snapped out of her thoughts and realized that Yukwon was still holding her hand.  “Okay Yukwon, let go now.” Minyoung forced Yukwon’s fingers open and took her hand away.

“Minyoung, I—”

“I’m not mad.  Just don’t tell Minhyuk.” Minyoung glared.  “If you do, he’ll never leave me alone.”

“It’s just that you looked like you wanted him to leave, so—”

Minyoung smiled.  “It’s okay.  And besides, you looked like you enjoyed it.”

“I didn’t—”

“You’re so cute!” Minyoung exclaimed.  “Seriously, you should look at your face.”

“He’s not cute, Minyoung-ah,” Taeil called out.

“You can’t see it, oppa?” Minyoung asked. “You can’t see how cute he looks?”

Yukwon took a good look at Taeil, trying to guess the other man’s age.  Taeil had a baby face, and he looked even younger than the twins.  Yukwon eventually gave up guessing.  To Minyoung, he asked, “How old is your brother?”

“He’s two years older than Minhyuk and I, so…20?”

“He’s 20 years old?”

“Why?  Does he look older?”

“Younger.”

“Really?”

Yukwon wondered if he was the only one who thought Taeil looked young.  “Anyway, do you want to sit down?”  He gestured toward an empty table.

“Sure.” Minyoung followed Yukwon over to the corner.

“Here.” Yukwon pulled out a chair for Minyoung before sitting across from her.  She blushed and muttered her thanks.

“So…” Yukwon trailed off.

Minyoung didn’t know how to reply.  “So…”

“That was Jaehyo?” Yukwon finally said.

Minyoung smiled.  “Were you surprised?  I guess there’s no use denying it anymore.”

“This might sound weird, but he’s really pretty.”

“He’s obsessed with BB cream, so…”

“You know, I’ve never dated anyone before?” Yukwon blurted out suddenly.

That statement caught Minyoung off guard.  She started to laugh.  “Seriously?”

Yukwon shook his head.  “It’s not like I’m unable to get a girlfriend.  I just want to find the right girl.”

“That’s sweet.  So does that mean you haven’t kissed anyone either?”

“Well, in middle school, I kissed this girl in my school play.”

Minyoung snickered.  “I’m not sure that counts.”

“Well, what about you?  Who was your first kiss?”

“Do you really want to know?” Minyoung asked.  Yukwon nodded, and she continued, “Well…in elementary school, I kissed Park Kyung multiple times.”

“The Park Kyung that goes to our school?”

Minyoung nodded.  “He probably doesn’t remember it, since it was so long ago.  I don’t even know how I remember it.”

“You guys don’t look like you’re friends?”

“People are weird, Yukwon.  They pretend to know you; they pretend not to know you.  That’s why I don’t talk to people much.  That’s why the rumors go around school that I’m some badass that hates human beings.”

“I heard about those rumors.”

“Did you believe in them?”

“No.”

“Why not?”

“I…can’t say.”

“Tell me.”

“It’s embarrassing.” He felt himself blushing.

She sighed.  “I won’t get offended or anything.  I promise.”

“Well…” Yukwon took a breath.  “I followed you home from school on the first day I transferred here—”

“Say no more,” Minyoung said.  “What are you, some stalker?”

“I was interested in you!” Yukwon exclaimed.  “You seemed so…different.”

“Different how?” she challenged.

“I wanted to get to know the real you and to prove that the rumors about you were fake.  You seemed so distant back then, but you tried to force yourself to be happy.”

“You could tell all of that about me from one glance?”  Minyoung thought back.  “You transferred right after Jaehyo left, and I was going through a hard time.”

“Why did you two break up?  He obviously wants you back.”

“Don’t believe people’s words, Kim Yukwon.”

“But—”

Minyoung stood up suddenly, startling Yukwon.  Taeil was busy tending to other customers, and she remembered that she had to go somewhere.

“Yukwon, I should go.  I’ll see you tomorrow?”

“Wait, where are you going?”

“School is over already, so I should head home.”

“Then, before you go, can you tell me two things?” Yukwon asked.

“Sure, what is it?”

“Why did you go out with Jaehyo?”

“Simple.  He was my ideal type.”

“But your ideal type has changed since then, I’m assuming.  So…am I your ideal type?”

Minyoung laughed.  “I don’t know, are you?”  She turned around and ran out the door, leaving Yukwon to sort out his thoughts.

“Hey, Yukwon, right?” Taeil said.

“Y-Yeah,” he stuttered, not expecting the older boy to start a conversation with him.

“About my sister…”

“I’m sorry about earlier.  You aren’t going to kill me for putting my arm around her, are you?” Yukwon winced.

“I’m not Minhyuk, Yukwon-ah.  I won’t kill you.” Taeil smirked.

Yukwon relaxed a bit.  “That’s a relief.”

“I just wanted to say that Minyoung really likes you.”

“W-What?”

“And if you give her time, I’m sure she’ll admit those feelings.”

“Hyungnim, with all respect, I don’t think that Minyoung has any interest in me.  My love is one-sided.”

“You may not see it, Kim Yukwon, but I do.  She has feelings for you.” Taeil sighed.  “It was painful seeing my sister fall in love once, and now she’s doing it again.”

“She doesn’t even know me that well…”

“If you treat her well, she’ll fall for you.  I’m sure of it.” Taeil nodded.  “She loves boys with good manners.”

“Positive?”

“And I think that you’ll bring out the best in her.”  Taeil smiled.  “If the twins ever trouble you, feel free to stop by.  I might be busy, but I’m willing to listen to your troubles.”

Yukwon could only grin.
