“Sooru, are you okay?”

You looked up at Onew startled.

“A wedding cake?” you whispered.

“Nay,” he answered confused. “Is there anything wrong with it?”

“No...It’s just that, I’ve never done it before.”

“Well, that makes the two of us. It’ll be a great experience for us,” his eyes shone excitedly. “We are going to make it together right?”

“Oh yes, of course,” you nodded quickly. “Together.”

And the 3 hours you spent making the cake just simply seemed to breeze by. Working together with Onew makes it bearable and more fun than ever.

Both of you had fun messing up at your first try; with flour and eggs cracked on the floor. You were covered in white from head to toe but you don’t seem to mind.

In fact, this was the first time ever you’ve ever had the most fun experience working with another colleague and your jaw hurts from too much laughter.

He had guided you by holding both of your hands in his as he showed you the right way to write the words so that it would be more beautiful decorated.

You felt awkward at first but gradually you’ve become more comfortable with him and could even joke around together.

 “And we put this thing on top and then we’re done!”

Onew applauded for you happily by the side.

“Sooru, you’re really good at these things.” He was clearly impressed.

You blushed at his compliment; given that this is the first time someone has ever say that to you.

“You are not so bad yourself. This icing taste delicious. And I’m sure the customer will be satisfied this time.”

To your surprise, he casually slung his arm around you and pulled you close.

“We make a great team don’t we?”

“Uh...yes, we really do,” you said slowly. You don’t know why but your heart was beating fast just standing that close to him. It was weird, you’ve never had this kind of feeling before.

“I’ll wrap this up and hand it over to the customer. You can go and take a break okay?” he told you.

“Oh okay. Thanks.”

As you went back behind to clean up yourself and the mess you guys have made, you couldn’t help wondering why you hadn’t realise how cute Onew was all these while.

And he was such a considerate guy, asking if everything was okay with you once in awhile; knowing how uncomfortable you are with people.

You washed your hands and poured two glasses of water for both you and Onew.

“Success!” you heard him exclaimed a second later. “The customer seemed really happy. We’ve done it Sooru! You and I.”

You and I.

You liked the way it sounded; the way he had said it.

“Sooru,” he spoke up suddenly. “Are you going anywhere after this?”

You shook your head slowly.

“Home I guess. Wae?”

“Do you want to eat dinner together? I mean, I’ve always eat alone. It’ll be fun to have another person along.”

He looked at you with these pleading eyes; just waiting for you to say yes.

You had to stifle your laughter, it was hard to turn him down.

And you had to admit, you were looking forward to spend more time with Onew.

Because today, he has showed you something beautiful; how wonderful it is to have someone by your side to lean on.

“I’d love to.”

Yes, he was the first person to open up your eyes.

And your heart.
