Rumors and Rescues

Rumors have a way of taking on a life of their own, growing and evolving with each passing whisper. In the bustling corridors of the hospital, a new gossip had taken root, and its subject was none other than Dr. Tiffany Hwang, the esteemed OB-GYN.

It all began innocently enough – a few residents had overheard Jiyeon's playful comment about them "hitting it off". A shared smile among the residents was all it took for the rumor mill to churn into action. Before long, whispers of a romantic connection between Dr. Hwang and Captain Kim were circulating through the hospital.

As the gossip spread, the details became increasingly embellished. What had started as them "getting to know each other" had morphed into "a love affair", complete with "clandestine rendezvous" and grand gestures.

"Jina from trauma told me they only just started dating!"

"No, no. Listen, I heard they've been together even when Dr. Hwang was still in America. And Captain Kim waited for her, all these years!"

"I also heard they are spending most of their time in the on-call room whenever Captain Kim brings in a patient here. If you know what I mean."

The more the story was shared, the more dramatic and far-fetched it became.

Tiffany was well aware of the gossip that was making its rounds, and it was beginning to wear on her patience. The knowing glances, the sly smiles, the subtle winks – it seemed that everyone she encountered had caught wind of the rumor. She couldn't escape the hushed conversations and speculative looks that followed her every move.

One day, as she walked through the hospital's bustling hallways, Tiffany couldn't help but overhear a group of nurses whispering excitedly.

"Did you hear? Dr. Hwang and Captain Kim are secretly dating!"

"Really? That's amazing! They make such a cute couple."

She wanted so much to tell everyone that there is absolutely no truth to the rumors spreading around the hospital. But when she started telling the nurses that it wasn't true, nobody seemed to believe her. They nodded, smiling, and said, "We know, doctor."

She also told the interns she heard gossiping on the hallway that "they are not dating". But what happened then? It only seemed to further ignite the issue. And instead of dating, the interns now thought "they might actually be married already."

Now what else can she do? Hold a press conference to announce that she, in fact, is not in any way, romantically related to the fire captain?

Tiffany's irritation bubbled to the surface.

How can they even think that she is in a relationship with her?

She grunts. She remembers how the captain manhandled her during that road accident the other day. That was totally unnecessary! Sure, she was being a little hardheaded, now that she thinks about it, but she can walk out of the scene by herself!

Ah, now is not the time to think about the blonde captain.

She continued on her way, trying to focus on her tasks and block out the chatter. However, it seemed that the gossip had already infiltrated even the most professional of conversations.

During a meeting with colleagues to discuss a challenging case, Tiffany's frustration reached its peak. As they delved into the details of the medical scenario, one of the residents casually remarked, "You know, Dr. Hwang, just like how you and Captain Kim are always in sync."

Tiffany's patience snapped. She fixed the resident with a stern gaze. "Let's keep our focus on the matter at hand, shall we? Speculation and gossip have no place in our professional discussions."

The room fell into an awkward silence, and the resident quickly backtracked. "Of course, Dr. Hwang. I apologize if I crossed a line."

Tiffany took a deep breath, reigning in her irritation. "Let's move forward. We have important matters to address."

Later that day, as Tiffany sat in her office reviewing patient charts, a knock on the door interrupted her thoughts. She looked up to find Sunny standing at the doorway.

"Mind if I come in?" Sunny asked with a mischievous grin.

Tiffany gestured for her to enter. "What's up?"

Sunny sauntered in, her grin widening. "I heard you're married. Why wasn't I invited?"

Tiffany groaned. She doesn't need any more teasing from her friend.

"Stop it, Sunny."

Sunny chuckled, taking a seat. "Oh, you know how rumors spread like wildfire in this place. You have to learn how to ignore them."

Tiffany let out an exasperated sigh. "It's just so ridiculous. I can't believe how out of control this gossip has gotten."

Sunny leaned back in her chair, a teasing glint in her eyes. "Well, you know what they say – where there's smoke, there's fire."

Tiffany rolled her eyes at the fire-jargons Sunny keeps throwing at her. "Sunny, there's absolutely no truth to it. Captain Kim and I barely know each other."

Sunny grinned. "Well, why not get to know her better then?

"You're impossible."

Sunny winked as she stood up. "Just trying to lighten the mood, Dr. Tiffany Hwang-Kim." Her laughter echoed at the corridor as she left, leaving Tiffany shaking her head at the absurdity of everything.

Back at the fire station, the firefighters geared up for another call.

"Did you guys hear the details about this one?" Donghae grinned as he looked around at his teammates. As the truck sped out of the barn, their faces got illuminated by the pulsating red lights of its interior.

Yuri, sitting in the driver seat, turned to him with a smirk. "Yeah, a 5-alarm fire. This one's gonna be a doozy."

A fire-alarm fire means it is a fire so severe that multiple units are needed to report to the scene. They were eating breakfast when they were called in to report, and everyone got a little excited, though they know they shouldn't be, upon hearing that it was a five alarm fire.

All hands on deck, baby.

Leeteuk chimed in from the back, his tone eager. "Word is, it's an old warehouse. Those places are like fire magnets."

Sooyoung, who was busy adjusting her gear, nodded in agreement. "More space to burn, more chances for a real challenge."

Taeyeon watched as Yuri's grip on the steering wheel tightened. Despite the excitement in the truck, Taeyeon's mind was already in firefighter mode, mentally preparing for the task ahead.

Donghae nudged Key, who was sitting next to him. "Hey, remember the last big warehouse fire we tackled? That one was insane."

Key chuckled, leaning in to reply. "Oh yeah, the one where we almost ran out of water?"

The memories of past challenges only fueled the firefighters' anticipation. As the truck barreled through the streets, their excitement was obvious, a shared energy that pulsed through their veins.

Yuri glanced at Taeyeon, who remained focused on the road ahead. "Ready for this, Captain?"

Taeyeon grinned, her determinatio
