It had already been a week since school vacation started, and finally it was time for the council trip to also start - it turned out that the trip was sponsored to them, apparently Jongho's father owned a camping area and the Jongho arranged that they used some of the cabin's for their trip.

Jongho’s father was the one who came to pick them up - he had a mini van on hand for the camping area. Yeonwoo found himself in the back of the bus seated with Yeosang, Yunho and Mingi. While Jongho sat next to his dad and Wooyoung sat with San, Hongjoong and Seonghwa.

Yeonwoo was slightly spaced out and it didn’t go exactly unnoticed but they all thought maybe there were reasons for it so they didn’t want to push Yeonwoo too much.

When they got to the camping site they unpacked their things and gathered together to decide on who would room together - they ended up drawing lots.

“There are four cabins - I will be sleeping in the main house with my parents so it will be two people per cabin,” Jongho explained as he held the jar with everyone’s names.

“First cabin will be…” Jongho trailed off a little - “Hongjoong hyung and Yunho hyung” Jongho said and the two boys celebrated a little.

“Next cabin will be… Yeosang hyung and Mingi hyung” the next cabin was announced Yeonwoo couldn’t help but feel nervous but there were still two cabins left there would be a chance that he wasn’t going to room with Seonghwa.

“Cabin number 3 is going to be… Wooyoung hyung and San hyung” Jongho said and Yeonwoo tried to hide his nervousness as best as he could “ That means Cabin number four will be Seonghwa hyung and Yeonwoo hyung” Jongho said with a big smile - a little to big if you asked Yeonwoo it was almost like Jongho planned it out.

The boys all gathered up all their things and slowly headed towards their cabins - Seonghwa stayed behind a little with Jongho and once everyone was out of earshot Seonghwa finally spoke.

“Thank Jjong - I feel like he would’ve avoided me even more if we weren’t in the same cabin,” Seonghwa said, wrapping an arm around the boy.

“You’re welcome Hyung but you have to confess this time round - you heard his conversation with that noona… if you don’t say anything I don’t think Yeonwoo hyung will ever speak up” Jongho said with a smile, he got out of Seonghwa’s hold and went behind Seonghwa giving him a little push.

“Go hyung - I want you two talking again by the end of the night” Jongho said before he took his things and headed to the main building.

Seonghwa smiled at the youngests antics and grabbed his bag and ran towards the cabin. When Seonghwa got into the cabin Yeonwoo was busy unpacking while he had his earphone in - he was dancing a little while unpacking, Seonghwa couldn’t help but smile as he quietly observed him.

Seonghwa started unpacking, still not making his presence known, letting Yeonwoo continue enjoying his own little world.

When Yeonwoo finally realised that Seonghwa was in the cabin he was a little surprised and jumped a bit - Seonghwa laughed a little and sent a smile to Yeonwoo.

“We haven’t talked in a while huh?” Seonghwa asked as he sat on his bed, Yeonwoo nodded a little - he didn’t really know how to act in front of Seonghwa - he couldn’t act like they were just friends but he also couldn’t act like they were anything more because Seonghwa was already taken.

There was a silence between the two and Yeonwoo used it to scrape together his courage - he had decided that even if he doesn't confess he will at least apologise for his actions that night.

“Hyung… I am sorry for kissing you without permission and for getting in the way of your relationship with Hongjoong hyung” Yeonwoo said looking at the floor, Seonghwa furrowed his brows a little.

“Yeonwoo what relationship do I have with Hongjoong?” Seonghwa asked the boy.

“You and Hongjoong hyung are dating… aren’t you” suddenly Yeonwoo wasn’t so sure about his assumption.

Seonghwa smiled a little - it slowly started making sense.

“Yeonwoo can I tell you something?” Seonghwa asked and Yeonwoo nodded, sitting down on his own bed.

“What made you think that I was dating Hongjoong?”

“Well you and hyung are really close, you are always together and you always stay together at Hongjoong hyung’s home so I automatically assumed there was more than friendship there” Yeonwoo explained a little - his voice was soft but Seonghwa attentively listened to him.

“Can I tell you the story of me and Hongjoong? It might come off surprising though?” Seonghwa asked and Yeonwoo nodded a little, he couldn't help but be curious about their relationship.

“Well you see… when I was 4 my mother passed away, before her death my father was really nice and loving - he would take us on a lot of trips around the world and he would always try to get off work as much as possible just to spend time with us, but after she died my dad became a complete workaholic and he only focused on work, Hongjoong’s mother talked to my father and eventually she took me in and raised me with Hongjoong - my dad would send her some checks to cover my expenses and anything else I needed” Seonghwa started explaining.

“So Hongjoong and I grew up like brothers, I told you I had no siblings but Hongjoong could just as well be my brother with how we were raised, even till now I haven’t really spoke to my father - all I know is I get invites to company parties that i have to attend and I have to study food science since that is what our company handles, to my father who I have only seen at company parties I can’t even tell him who I want to be, I have never really felt happy but Hongjoong follows me around and makes sure I am happy, so no me and Hongjoong aren’t dating we are just important to one another” Seonghwa explained.

It would be a lie to say that Yeonwoo wasn’t surprised, the guy who always smiled and looked so happy and content with life was actually going through so many things, he suddenly felt ashamed of himself thinking his life was hard because he had to hide himself and try to be as perfect as possible but then there was Seonghwa who went through so much.

“But you know Yeon… when I first saw you at orientation, I just felt something instantly Yeon - I didn’t realise it at first but I fell in love the moment I saw you, it was when you first arrived at the orientation but you seemed lost - the expression you had on your face, it made me want to sweep you up in my arms and hug you as tight as i could - I realised everyone kept their distance from you and I didn’t get why you seemed so friendly so I was really confused - but then I walked past Taekyung and things started making sense” Seonghwa started speaking and Yeonwoo only stared at him slightly confused and shocked.

“I couldn’t leave you alone once I learned the reason behind everyone’s distance but it seemed like you two were so close I couldn’t say anything without evidence since I didn’t want you to hate me since I already liked you so much, so at orientation I kept you company and then once that was done I protected you from a distance, I tried talking to people so they could understand that you weren’t the person Taekyung made you out to be - that day when i saw you at the party you were so pretty I couldn’t stay away anymore and i wanted to get to know you so I took you to my hiding place in the company and invited you to the council - I am sorry if I gave you the impression that I was in love with Hongjoong but the only person I have ever loved in my whole life is you Yeon” Seonghwa was crouching in front of Yeonwoo, he lifted the boy’s head and saw that there were some tears staining the boy’s cheek and he felt his heart shatter… he thought that he overstepped and ruined everything.

“H-hyung you love me?” Yeonwoo asked with a small smile, Seonghwa nodded a little.

“I fell in love with Hyung the day of orientation as well” Yeonwoo said and it surprised Seonghwa - sure Yeonwoo kissed him before but he merely thought that Yeonwoo got caught up in the moment, especially when he ran away.

Seonghwa smiled and moved closer to Yeonwoo, he slowly cupped Yeonwoo’s cheeks and brought his face closer - “Yeon… can I kiss you?” Seonghwa asked in an almost whisper, Yeonwoo let out a little hum along with a small nod.

Their kiss was sweet - slightly salty thanks to Yeonwoo’s tears, once they broke their kiss they both smiled a little, Seonghwa whipped away Yeonwoo’s tears.

“Once we get back home let's go on a date shall we?” Seonghwa asked sweetly.

“I would love that,” Yeonwoo said, not being able to keep back his smile.

The two spent most of their time in the cabin, they made small talk and just cuddled, getting to know one another.

“Did you know my family isn’t my biological family?” Yeonwoo as he curiously looked at Seonghwa, Seonghwa looked at him a little surprised.

“My parents are actually my aunt and uncle… my sister is my cousin and my uncle’s sister is my biological mother” Yeonwoo explained, Seonghwa looked at him a little confused.

“My mother… she was a freshmen in university and she went to a party and she ended up having a one night stand with someone, she didn’t even know who and once she found out she was pregnant with me she freaked out - she ran away from home and lived on her own in Busan, trying to find a family for me before I was born - my uncle found her and got her to agree to come back, once she gave birth to me, she left me with my uncle and aunt and ran away for good - they haven’t had contact since i was born” Yeonwoo told him.

“So… I have an obsession with being perfect - my aunt and uncle both have these huge reputations, I am not their biological child, I don’t want to ruin it especially because I was already a burden left to them, I have to be perfect to protect them” Seonghwa’s heart slowly broke a little as the boy spoke… when he saw Yeonwoo he would never have thought that the boy felt that way.

“Hyung what i am trying to say is… my parents don’t know that I am gay… I am scared to say anything. What if I ruin everything?” Seonghwa understood what the boy meant - he wanted to keep it lowkey, Seonghwa understood him - he was also scared of his fathers reaction.

“We can take it slow and hide it Yeon - my father also doesn’t know and I don’t know how he will react so we can keep it quiet” Seonghwa reached out and wrapped his arms around the boy and hugged him close, trying to reassure the boy that he wouldn’t have to worry.

They talked a bit and agreed though that they would tell their friends because it would be the best way to hide their relationship was to have others cover for them.

When dinner time came around they all gathered outside for a barbeque, they all came out of their cabin and when Yeonwoo and Seonghwa came out everyone was eyeing them, they shyly took hands and approached everyone and there was an instant cheer amongst them all.

“Finally it took you long enough!!” Hongjoong yelled out, causing Seonghwa to laugh a little.

They celebrated and ate dinner together, they hung out around the campfire and eventually all turned for the night.

For Yeonwoo the whole day felt surreal but he couldn’t be happier.
