A/N: This plot was so sudden after I was done writing for ‘Blame It All On Me’ and yeah, this was like a pure coincidence when Youngjae revealed in MNet Interview that he once dated his desk mate way back elementary so after watching that, I was like “GDI I WILL GO ON WITH THIS PLOT”. So, here it is. Enjoy!

PROLOGUE

Meeting my Desk Mate

The bell rang and echoed throughout the whole campus that was covered with too much heat. Just then, Youngjae opened his eyes and winced as he was greeted by the sunlight. He fell asleep again on his favorite spot of the school. Instead of playing under the heat of the sun like what his classmates do, he prefer sleeping.

“Ugh. Class will be boring again.” He said as he scratched his head and adjusted his black-rimmed eyeglasses. With a sigh, he stood up and wiped his uniform from dusts.

With his head high on clouds, he failed to notice that he was already having his own desk mate.

“Class, we have a new student.” Their old woman teacher started with such an authorative voice. Youngjae silently shouted on his head “Shut up, old duckling.” And he ended up gulping as their teacher’s gaze was held up on him.

“Yoo Youngjae.” The teacher said aloud.

He cleared up his throat before answering – “Yes, ma’am?” The teacher just nodded and pointed something beside him. Not something for it was a person that was looking down on his table, in a very awkward way. “Take care of your desk mate.”

Without knowing what to answer, he just nodded in response. He then sat down again, still looking at the new student beside him. “You’re here.” He said, as if greeting.

The awkward new student just nodded a little, not even looking at him. “I am Yoo Youngjae.” He said. “You are?”, and asked.

“Jung Daehyun.” His desk mate answered in a hardly audible voice. Youngjae extended his hand to meet Daehyun’s as a sign of greeting. Daehyun accepted it and Youngjae blinked for a moment as he felt there was some kind of electric shock as their hands met, time too, seemed stopping.

By that, he immediately pulled his hands from Daehyun’s cold ones and smiled awkwardly. “Nice to meet you.”

Silence. He hated it. He disliked it when he talks and he doesn’t get a response. “We just started our class last week so you don’t have much to catch up on.” He opened up, hoping they will have a conversation instead of just listening to their boring old woman teacher.

The other guy just bit his lips and nodded. “Y-yeah. T-thanks.”

“How old are you, by the way?” He asked again.

“10 years old.” Daehyun answered as he threw a glance at the talkative guy. “Y-you?”

Youngjae’s eyes were opened as big as his mouth was. “No way. You’re my hyung?!”

Daehyun then just chuckled. Youngjae found it cute. He then laughed slightly.

“You will forever be my desk mate.” Youngjae let it slipped from his mouth, not putting too much meaning on it.

Daehyun looked at his brown eyes and smiled happily. “Yes. Desk mate. Forever.”

There would be no such thing as forever but they felt so comfortable together. They both silently promised they will keep with their words. Forever. But they both wondered if that was possible.

The time for dismissal has come and it was surprisingly not a boring day for Youngjae. He knew it was because of Daehyun. That mysterious kid was really something. He didn’t even act older than him. He found his self smiling and wishing they would be close friends.

Yes, close friends sounded good.
