Quiet nights
I love you more than love itself
Jennie opens her eyes, and immediately, she notices the lack of presence on the other side of their bed.
She rolls over to peer on the nightstand. The clock shows that it was two a.m in the morning. She shakes herself to wake, before carelessly putting a robe on. The lawyer descends the stairs, looking for the pair of arms she has grown accustomed to. It did not take her much to search for her wife. Jisoo was wide awake and was drowning herself in the blue screen of her computer. Jennie smiles softly, surprising her with a loving embrace on the neck and an affectionate kiss upon her hair.
"Oh? I didn't know you were up, baby." Weariness leaks from Jisoo's tone—a product of long days of work and immense pressure.
"I was looking for you and you weren't beside me." Jennie tightens her embrace, letting her head fall into the crevices of Jisoo's shoulder as she inhales her heady scent.
"I'll finish this up. It'll only be quick, I promise," her wife whispers, but Jennie isn't too sure if that was true.
She glances at the screen. Jisoo was nowhere near finishing her latest design. Pens and papers were strewn everywhere, half-filled cups of coffee and the great weight of bags under her eyes were telltale signs that she needs to rest soon.
"I don't think so," Jennie clicks her tongue. "C'mon, baby. Look at you. You look like you haven't gone to bed in weeks."
