Minju shifts uncomfortably on the couch, as she has been for the past 3hours, staring at her phone. She knows that Yujin isn't really the type to respond quickly, but 3 hours, isn't that overkill An Yujin? Does she not want to talk to me? Well, after all the stupid I said can I really be surprised? It really is my fault I suppose. But not even a seenzone? She finally opts to finally put her phone down, and tries to pick up the book that she promised Chaewon she would read. She basically drops it as soon as she does, hearing a ding from her phone and picking it up expectedly. 

 

Chaewon: she reply yet? 

Minju: no ): 

Minju: this was a bad idea from the start

Minju: all my homies hate wonyoung

Chaewon: hahaha oh stop ik you've been wanting to do this for a while anyways. she's probs j busy 

Minju: yeah….. BUSY IGNORING MY TEXT 😐😐😐

Chaewon: yujins such a sweetheart we both know she's gonna reply 🙄

Minju: OH U CALLED IT 

 

Yujin had just arrived home, only to realize that she probably should've accepted Yuri’s invite to dinner at her place instead. As per usual, the house was completely empty, not a soul in sight, the chime of the clock seemingly dramatic as darkness engulfed the walls. She threw herself on the couch, closing her eyes for a few seconds only to remember that her day was not over quite yet. She hurriedly grabs her phone, partly because if she didn't she'd undoubtedly fall asleep, but also because she knows that Minju is such an overthinker and is already probably halfway thru the grieving process right now. 

 

5:10 PM

Minju: yujin? 

 

8:02 PM

Yujin: what's up?

Yujin: slr, got caught up in a soccer game :/ 

 

Yujin intently stares at the screen, as much as she wants to know what Minju has to say her exhaustion is getting the better of her. She makes sure her phone is on full brightness which strains her eyes a little bit, but is completely forgotten as soon as she sees the 3 little dots on the corner of the screen. She waits in anticipation for 3 minutes…. Which turns into 5….. Which turns into 10.

Yujin: ayo j spit it out i don't think i can stay awake for much longer haha 

 

Minju is currently internally screaming at herself. She had 4 hours, FOUR HOURS, to think about what to say and yet, now virtually facing yujin, no words feel right. She knows that Yujin has always been so understanding but she just doesn't want this to go wrong, not only for Wonyoung, but because Yujin had always been such an exciting presence in her life she didn't want to lose it a second time.

Minju: im sorry

 

Yujin's eyebrow questioningly perks up at the girls response, now fully awake. She sits up and leans back against the couch, and decides against replying when she sees those 3 dots move again. 

 

Minju: for everything

Minju: for stopping supporting you at your football games even though you always came to my art shows 

Minju: for neglecting you even though you always gave me your full attention 

Minju: for never wanting to play mobile games with you even if you always watched my stupid romcoms w me

Minju: and for the way i reacted so horribly that night, but what can i say, you broke my heart 

Minju: i finally understand the reason why you broke up with me that night, you've always been the bigger person between the both of us, it's one of the reasons i respect u so much 

Minju: youre never afraid to stand up and accept the big ugly truth, and thank god you did it because i dont think i would have ever mustered up the courage to do it 

Minju: ok sorry im rambling but, what im trying to say is that i didnt deserve you. and i treated you like . but, how to say this 

Minju: reality feels a little more real without u? without all your jokes, all ur silly antics, all your teasing, its like a little part of me is starting to see life as it is, and not as it should be. 

Minju: ik the reason we’re not friends anymore is bcs of me. but i think what you were mature enough to realize back then, is that couple us was j not it 

Minju: but us as friends, that was the frfr

Minju: i miss having you in my life. if that wasnt clear 

Minju: and im a

Minju: i hope at least a little bit of all that made a little sense 😀

 

Yujin lightly smiles as she reads what Minju says again. She still hasn't stopped rambling whenever she gets nervous. 

 

Yujin: its kinda crazy, i was actually thinking of texting you last night

Yujin: thank u for this min, i think i needed it

 

Minju jerks her head at Yujin’s fast reply, reading it with a smile plastered on her face. I really sat there worrying for 3 hours for this. Totally worth it.

 

Minju: this isnt enough, i need to make it up to you by buying you tteokbokki this week 😤

Yujin: oh no

Yujin: oh kim minju 

Yujin: i think that this requires a lifetime supply of tteokbokki 

Minju: GIRL WITH WHAT MONEY

Yujin: im sure u can think of something (: 

Minju: yknow what anything to get my bestie back idc

Minju: god we need to catch up i have literally never gone this long without talking to u 

Yujin: ah yes kim minju you do have a lot of explaining to do
