ClosetedWas it absurd to say that Taeyeon got used to all the bullying? The name-calling, the stares, the whispers, the blatant alienation? She didn't enjoy it, that's for sure, but she went to school every day expecting the same old, and when she received it, it didn't surprise her anymore. It hurt, of course, but the bullies’ intended effect was starting to fade with time. After all, there were only so many times you could call someone a slur before the shock factor ceased and it became just another word to get used to. And Taeyeon was beginning to become accustomed to it all. Some of her usual tormentors were even starting to give up, because they weren't getting the satisfaction of seeing her react.
Students mostly left her alone now, avoided her like the plague. Her name became an insult in itself, as in: “Don’t be such a Taeyeon.” Life for her went back to normal, sort of. It was a little more extreme than that still.
Taeyeon had formed the habit of going to school early now. It saved her a lot of stress, in the sense that she avoided meeting a majority of the students who were the source of it.
It was 7am, about an hour before classes began. Taeyeon had plenty of time to sort out her locker, study a little, and maybe even catch up on some sleep before first period. She could relax now; the school was a ghost town and it was highly unlikely that she’d run into anyone her
