Smoke.

SMOKE EVERYWHERE!

The smoke detector alarm goes off and you’re inside the printing room, which is another room inside of the damn pantry!

Quickly, leaving the reports you were photocopying, you push the door open to have a mad dash to save your life.

And you see that the source of the already starting to get thick smoke is coming from the old oven toaster in your office pantry.

You made a swift and moronic last-minute decision to pull the oven toaster plug so that it wouldn’t cause a fire.

Thankfully nothing ignited to cause fire, but you have to evacuate your department’s whole floor and call the fire department.

Everyone saw you coming out of the pantry so they immediately put the blame on you.

Your boss, who was just getting back from a lunch meeting, of course, was a fuming mess when he found out.

So you explained what happened.

Or at least just your side of truth.

You try so hard to stay calm as you justify yourself while everyone, your boss, your coworkers, and even the fire department looks at you kind of judgingly.

But in the middle of your clarification, you couldn’t help but burst out in tears, only making your boss even more suspicious of you.

Your whole department was suspended from work that day and was sent home early.
