Seulgi stared at her bedroom’s wall blankly. She just came back from her date with Irene, and her mood really shifted dramatically after the incident earlier.

Not forgetting how calm and composed the older was; meanwhile Seulgi was a total mess.

“What the is wrong with you again this time?”

Seulgi was too busy with her own thoughts, she didn’t even realize Yeri entered her room. She was standing beside her bed with arms crossed on her chest.

“Nothing.” Seulgi uttered hazily.

Yeri looked at Seulgi suspiciously, and released a long sigh.

“We’ve been friends for years, there’s no way you can lie to me, Kang Seulgi.”

Seulgi squirmed in her bed. She was too embarrassed to tell Yeri the whole story.

Her mind was replaying the scene and heat rushed up her face.

“Your face is red, Seul. Seriously, what’s happening with you.” Yeri said as she clicked her tongue. She was getting annoyed.

Yeri was on the couch watching her favorite k-drama playing on their television screen when Seulgi arrived and walked pass Yeri like that as if she was invisible.

“You’ll find out by yourself.” Seulgi replied.

“Whatever you say.” Yeri rolled her eyes for the nth time. She walked towards the door.

“Turn off the lights, please.” Seulgi said slowly.

“I hate you so much.”

Yeri turned off the lights and left Seulgi’s room- leaving the monolids alone.

Seulgi’s mind was too disturbed with the incident earlier. She was really not in the mood for anything, so she decided to take a nap (she didn’t even take a shower).

Seugi laid down on her bed, reaching for her blanket and covered her whole body. She sniffed her favorite scene- lavender from her favorite softener she used, and closed her eyes. She was so tired and sleepy since she didn’t have a good sleep last night.

Seulgi was about to enter her dreamland until her room’s door abruptly swung open, followed by the flickering of the lights switching, revealing Yeri followed by her loud scream (and it irritated Seulgi’s ears so much).

“YOU TWO KISSED?”

Seulgi blinked her eyes several times before getting up from her bed and blinked several times, trying to register Yeri’s words in her mind.

It took her seconds to finally understand.

Seulgi really didn’t expect it to be spread that fast. For God’s sake she just came back from the coffee shop and their “kissing” pics were already all over the internet.

They really wouldn’t let Seulgi breathe.

“Told you, you will find out soon.”

Yeri was still freezing at her spot, gaping with mouth agape.

“It happened? For real?”

Seulgi brought up her hand, pinching her temple.

“It’s not like what it looks like.”

Yeri walked closer towards the monolids and plopped down on the bed next to Seulgi.

“No wonder you have been acting really weird.”

Seulgi nodded in response.

“But… we didn’t kiss. I was enjoying my cake when she suddenly apologized and I asked for what and it happened so fast.”

Seulgi paused, and continued.

“She suddenly cupped my cheek and pull me closer and our faces were so close. We didn’t kiss but I can say we almost. She said the camera was there so… yeah.”

Seulgi couldn’t help but the scene was playing in her mind again- and she was blushing so hard.

Yeri didn’t respond immediately. She was still looking at Seulgi with her mixed expression on her face until it changed slowly to a teasing smirk.

Seulgi knew this would happen.

Yeri was going to about this for the rest of her life.

“I can’t believe our ddeulgi is going to get laid, finally.”

Seulgi’s eyes widened at Yeri’s words.

“What do you mean with getting laid? We didn’t even kiss!” Seulgi responded in attempt to defend herself.

“But you would love that to happen, am I right?”

“I-I don’t!”

Yeri smirked in victory at how Seulgi was stuttering.

“She didn’t even kiss you but you are already acting like this. I really thought you got hit by car or something. You spent your entire life being a single but Irene Bae really takes a toll on you, huh?”

Seulgi covered her face with both of her palms.

“This is why I didn’t tell you. I knew this would happen. Stop teasing me!”

Yeri couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

“Alright, alright, I’ll stop. Besides the almost-kiss accident, how was the date?”

Seulgi gripped her blanket lightly, brushing her thumb through the soft fabric.

“It went pretty well. We talked and they really had the best banana milk.”

Yeri let out a chuckle.

“Seems like the only bad thing is the fact that she didn’t kiss you.”

Irene just came back from the coffee shop. Irene went back straight to her building and Seulgi went back to her apartment.

Irene opened her room door only to find Sooyoung sitting lazily on her couch, munching a bag of potato chips she bought from the convenience store nearby.

“Don’t you have your own room?”

Irene walked pass Sooyoung and sat behind her desk. She her computer- she was such a busy person and she got a lot of things to do.

“I love your room more.”

Irene clicked her tongue as she rolled her eyes.

“Don’t you have things to do? You look too jobless for a COO.” She snorted.

“My meeting got cancelled suddenly okay? And I have nothing to do.”

“Don’t make me fire you, Park Sooyoung.”

“You won’t. You love me so much.” Sooyoung replied cutely and Irene cringed so hard.

Irene was about to continue working on her paper when Wendy entered her room (she didn’t barge in since she was not Sooyoung).

Irene eyed Wendy from behind her desk.

“They are so fast.” Wendy said.

Irene looked at Wendy with a questioning gaze.

“And what are you talking about?”

Wendy closed the door behind her, walked closer to Irene and showed her phone.

There was an article from a well-known news site.

[BREAKING] CEO of Bae Holdings, Irene Bae and Her New Girlfriend was Caught Kissing in Public.

Irene trailed her eyes down, and there was a low quality picture- it’s a bit unclear but there was her and Seulgi with her back facing the camera, holding Seulgi’s cheek in her palm and their faces so close to each other.

“You really get into character, don’t you? You really kissed her in public?”

Sooyoung’s eyes widened at Wendy’s words.

“SHE WHAT?”

She immediately stood up and ditched her potato chips as she scooted towards Wendy, and peeking through her phone screen.

“Holy you are crazy, Joohyun.”

Joohyun leaned her back to her chair’s backrest, and crossed her arms on her chest.

“I didn’t kiss her. I did it on purpose so it’d look like we were kissing each other on lips.”

Wendy moved her thumbs, scrolling down through her phone screen, only to find another picture. There was Seulgi and her face was not blurred (there’s no use to blur her face, though) was having her cake with Irene sitting across from her, looking at the younger with a big smile creeping up her face.

“Why did you become a CEO, once again? You should have signed up for an acting agency. Damn, you are so good at acting.” Sooyoung claimed.

Wendy zoomed the pictures on Irene’s face, and threw a glance at Irene suspiciously.

“You were not acting on this one, were you?”

Irene squirmed in her seat. She has always been a collected and calm person but this time Wendy really got her. She couldn’t help but feeling nervous.

She moved a bit, adjusting her position and cleared .

“I did it because the camera was there. It was an act.” Irene briefly looked at Wendy before shifted her attention back to computer screen in front of her.

Wendy released a teasing chuckle.

“Fine, whatever you say.”

Two weeks had passed and Seulgi herself had returned to her daily life as a college student. It was not easy for her on the first day since everyone couldn’t stop eyeing her and whispering whatever they were talking about. She actually prepared herself and expected this coming, and Irene couldn’t help but felt bad towards the younger. Seulgi’s life had changed so much since she agreed on this arrangement. Irene knew the monolids wasn’t a social person and she hated being the center of attention, but glad things were getting better. They would just give Seulgi a glance and focus back to their own businesses.

The manager of the café where Seulgi used to work at contacted her, asking her to come back. The manager claimed that Seulgi was her favorite (which Seulgi rolled her eyes when she heard that) but after days thinking about it, she decided not to take the job. Seulgi felt like she had been working so hard and she deserved some time to rest. Yeri quit the job as well because they were currently in the middle of their final tests. Her evil roommate couldn’t stop teasing Seulgi about her quitting her job because she got herself a sugar mommy and she was referring to Irene.

Time passed so quickly, and they were already at the end of the semester, final test season has passed and their college will be holding a big year end annual event. Seulgi was barely alive because she had not been sleeping well. She had to sacrifice her precious sleep hours because of the projects and their deadline.

“You have been working so hard, our Seulgi.”

Yeri reached out one of her hands and gave Seulgi a light pat on her head. Seulgi couldn’t help but pulled herself away. She threw her roommate a suspicious gaze.

They were sitting across to each other in kitchen slash dining area. Seulgi shifted her gaze on boxes of pizza, slices of cakes, and banana milk on the dining table. They were chocolates and ice creams as well in the fridge.

And Yeri bought all of it for her.

“What are you up to?”

Seulgi said as she shifted her attention back to her roommate, and squinted her eyes.

“What do you mean? I’m just trying to be a good friend. You have been so tired, you deserve some treats.” Yeri said as she put the sweetest smile ever on her face.

Seulgi rolled her eyes. She had known Yeri for years, and her best friend wouldn’t do this out of the blue for nothing.

“What do you want this time?”

Yeri’s smile faded away, as she shot up her hand and put her palms together, making a pleading gesture.

“Seulgi, we are best friends, right? You love me, right?”

Seulgi knew it.

“It depends.” Seulgi lowered her body and leaned to the backrest behind her, with arms crossed on her chest.

“I failed Ms. Kim’s subject and she will pass me, but under one condition.”

“And what is it?”

Yeri stood up and moved her seat next to Seulgi’s chair.

“I have to be a part of the year end event committee.”

“They don’t accept members anymore.” Seulgi stated.

Yeri nodded her head in response. A desperate sigh escaped .

“I know.”

“And what can I help you with that?” Seulgi asked. She scrunched her eyebrows in confusion.

“I talked to Jihyo, the committee leader. She said she would accept me if I could make Irene Bae agreed on being one of their event speaker-“

Yeri didn’t even finish her sentence when Seulgi abruptly got up from her seat. She was about to leave but Yeri was faster.

She encircled her arms around the monolid’s waist, pulling her closer and making Seulgi’s body landed on her. Yeri tightened her arms, trying to prevent Seulgi from leaving.

“SEULGI PLEASE!!!” Yeri pleaded desperately, half screaming.

“You want me to talk to Ms. Bae? She wouldn’t agree on this. She’s busy and she got no time for this. And isn’t it clear they are using you! They know you are my best friend.”

“But you are her girlfriend there’s no way she would say no to you! And I need their help too.” Yeri argued.

“Just retake it and study harder!”

“My parents… they will kill me.” Yeri said in a shaking voice. She was on the verge of tears.

Seulgi softened. She knew how Yeri’s parents were. Yeri was their only daughter, that’s why they were so strict. They really had a high expectation on her.
