The Pacey TendencyThe two spent the next Saturday doing the projector. It took them an hour or two, with breaks and bantering in between.
When it worked, the two yelped and hugged excitedly.
“So what should we watch?” Seulgi asked, her eyes dancing.
This will be a constant question for them in the coming months. Seulgi will find herself going to Jisoo’s place for brunch and a movie marathon on Saturdays. Rosie will join them sometimes, then Lisa and Jennie and Seulgi will also bring Yeri, or Moonbyul, who Seulgi knew from the indie artists scene.
But mostly it will just be the two of them. Their friends often go home on the weekends, but they opted to stay. Seulgi’s from Batangas, but her family would rather let her rest and relax than commute, while Jisoo’s from Quezon city and God knows it’s nightmarishly more challenging to travel there from Elbi.
So Saturdays have been their de facto day together.
They have watched documentaries, Lino Brocka’s classics, coming-of-age favorites such as The Breakfast Club and everything from John Hughes, really, a smattering of Evangelion OVAs and the Olivia Lamasan-tearjerkers, those that strike with such heart-tugging poignancy.
Today though, Jisoo’s contemplating if they should go ahead with the movies or not. The theme for their movie marathon this Saturday is the ever trite (but immortal) topic of unrequited affection and the flicks they have in hand are yes – the Kim Chiu starrer “Paano na Kaya” and the JP Habac-helmed “I’m Drunk, I Love You.”
“They hit too close to home, Seul,” Jisoo said.
Because Seulgi moves around in different circles, those various groups of friends also witnessed how Seulgi pined for Irene. The former started to bring the latter to these hang-out sessions and people saw how Seulgi will tend to Irene, may it be giving her food, massaging her head when she’s drunk, or just simply listening
