The steady beeping of a machine was augmented by the quieter, faster beep of another. The room seemed sterile and cold, and Yoohyeon shivered as she looked about the area. It was a hospital room, with cold grey walls that seemed like something out of an old asylum, and sparse furnishings of one bed, one small bedside dresser, and one uncomfortable looking chair. 

It was the person in the chair that caught her attention first, because she recognized that figure. Her mother sat there, tears on her cheeks as she leaned forward, grasping the hand of the person laying in the bed. Yoohyeon had never been particularly close to any of her family, but she felt a lurch in her heart as she thought that something must have happened to her father. She turned her gaze on the bed, expecting to see her dad...
