jeon jungkook worries about the small things— anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, good morning texts and more. she was good at it at first, but slowly with time she’d begun to fall asleep without saying goodnight, or would go through the entire afternoon without texting him. he tested her one time, without reaching out once, it took her until five in the afternoon to finally reach out and that was only because she had a specific question relating to something his mother had told her. jeon jungkook loves her a lot, but, he’d be lying if he were to say he wasn’t upset at the lack of time and effort she’d dedicated to their relationship. park chaeyoung is busier now, but even when there was free time in their schedule, she’d spend time with other friends first before reaching out to him. he's jealous in that respect. they haven’t spoken in a week now, after he’d accidentally snapped at her when she skipped out on dinner plans for the second time that month and their two and a half year anniversary was right around the corner. he hates it. min yoongi notices it at first, and promises to reach out to her personally sometime that week but jeon jungkook doesn’t dare to ask for further details. they’re in the same city, but in another twenty four hours he’d have to go back to seoul. 

his fingers type against the screen, but it almost feels as though everything he says seems like a lie and he honestly is worried about how she’d react. he types. and then he erases. she’s online and then she’s offline. it wasn’t often that the pair would fight, especially when they were in the same city as each other. “jungkook, get dressed we’re going for dinner,” kim taehyung calls from the living room, “... we’re going to a fancy place for dinner in shibuya.” he hesitates. jeon jungkook knows that it’s unlikely that the pair will find their way together tonight, but it felt wrong to be out when he could at minimum, be video calling her. “i think i’ll just stay in tonight, i’m tired,” he lies, “... but have fun anyway.” “no, go get dressed right now jungkook,” kim taehyung demands, “... just do this one thing alright?” he’s confused at the urgency, but decides he’s too tired to fight with the older member, dragging his feet towards his room. when he re-emerges from the room, he notices how oddly quiet everyone was, and more confusingly— kim seokjin and kim taehyung we’re both glued to their phones. “let’s just go now i want to sleep early,” he mutters, wanting to at least get home before midnight to perhaps make a voice memo for her to read in the morning. “i, uh— we’ll go soon,” responds nervously, “... in a bit, i have a stomach ache.” but kim taeh
