“Hey Dara! You’re already late, What happened to you?” Yuri asked in a hurry

“I’m sorry, I woke up late because we celebrate Prince Yuki’s birthday last night” Dara replied rushing to her station in the hotel’s lobby.

As Dara settled her things and about to start her work, one of her team in the Customer’s Service interrupted her.

“Good Morning Ma’am, I just want to report something to you” her employee said

“Yes? I hope you already start working on calls and everything while I’m not here” Dara said

“Of course ma’am but since this morning we have been receiving an unusual call from a man”

The employee paused and checked as if someone was sneaking around then continued whispering

“He repeatedly asks about you”

“Wha--!?” Dara almost shouted

She lowered her voice “What!? Who was it? Do you ask his name?”

Before the employee said his name, the other employee from her team on the other side of the lobby was raising her hand. Dara leaves the reporting employee for a while and quickly walks to the other station to accommodate the urgent query of her another employee.

“What’s the matter?” Dara asked

“Someone’s looking for you ma’am” the employee said.

Dara took the phone and she was surprised because it was a woman and not a man as she expects to answer on the other line.

W:          Hello? Is this Ms. Sandara Park?

D:           Y-yes , this is Ms. Sandara Park. How may I help you ma’am?

W:          Our patient has been dialing this number and we want to check whether you are his guardian.

D:            Uhm may I ask who this patient is?

W:          His name is Jiyong Kwon and he was brought here last night.We were about to conduct a diagnosis for him today but suddenly he left this  morning. We don’t have his other information besides his name and home phone number though there’s no one answering upon checking. We then figured out from the nurses in the lobby that earlier this morning, he was contacting this number many times and asking for someone named Sandara Park.

D:            Wait, I know this guy but we are not related. I just knew him yesterday

W:          Is that so? Okay ma’am but please do contact us if he reaches out again to you because we believe he is not in a good condition. Well that’s all and we’re sorry Ms. Park for disturbing you by--

D:           Wait! Can I have his home phone number?

W:          Of course, it’s 191-144-1201

D:            Thank you! I’ll call when I reach him, bye

---end dial tone---

Dara’s face turned pale as she realized that the hospital was calling her for a patient that she never met and barely knew.

Dara’s POV

Flashback IV ( 7 years ago )

I am always excited to go home for almost a week since Prince and I found Yuki. It’s my first time and it has been a challenge for me to take care of Yuki so I called Prince to teach me how take care of the puppy.

“I’m thinking of buying Prince Yuki a leash so we can take a walk every morning” I ask my mom while she prepares a meal.

“Well Dara, Yuki is only months old I don’t think he can take—” mom paused as she heard someone’s calling outside our house.

My mother hurriedly walks to the window in the living room and pull up the blinds to check who’s calling.

“Dara, It’s a guy” mom said to me

I opened the door and saw Prince waving at me behind our small gate.

“Mom, it’s Prince, the guy that I was telling whom I found the dog with” I told her

I ran down to our front yard and opened the gate for Prince.

“Did you lost your way going here?” I ask him

“No, it seems I’m good memorizing the way the first time I brought you home when we found Yuki” he replied.

“Woah you’re smart” I praised

“Maybe because I’m good in music too” he bragged

“You’re confident huh?” I teased

He shrugged teasing me back and I laughed because of his playful gesture. I showed him up to our house and introduced to my mom waiting for us at the door.

My mom prepare us some snacks while we check on Yuki. Yuki really likes Prince and I was just watching them play.

“Why don’t you play with him?” Prince asked

“I think he’s not comfortable with me. It’s been a week but he only goes near me when it’s my time to feed him” I sadly told him

“He needs something from you to be familiar or safe with so he can trust you” Prince said

“Like what?” I curiously asked

“Something… like a toy! Do you have any toys here?” Prince excitedly asked

“Upstairs in my room I have some small plushies” I replied

As we head to the stairs into my room, my mom stopped us.

“Hey, where are you two going?”

“We’re going to find some plushies for Yuki” I said to her

“Ok but please hurry or the tea will get cold” she reminds us

I showed Prince my room and start looking for a toy for Yuki. I was nervous because he might think my room was boring but Prince was amazed how organized my room was.

“My room’s nothing compare to yours” he said

“Why not?” I asked as I looked through my cabinet for plushies

“It’s just everything here in your room is in their right place” he explained as he formed a gesture like taking a picture around my room

“That’s deep though” I said surprisingly looking at his gesture

“It feels good to be in the right place…” he said as he continued his gesture and stopped when he spotted a guitar beside my room’s window

 “Like this guitar” he said

“What about it?” I asked

“It is the perfect spot to play a guitar and that’s where you put it” he replied

He took the guitar and tried to play some chords. I can tell he’s really good at it by only hearing his soft strumming of each chords. I was more surprised when suddenly he sang while playing the guitar

“ I just called to say I love you

I just called to say how much I care

I just called to say I love you

And I mean it from the bottom of my heart”

I was so stunned by what he did that I never realized that he was calling my name because my mom was calling us downstairs.

“Y-yes, I’m sorry phew what I was doing!? Uhm M-my mom’s jasmine tea is so good! Y-you need to try some , let’s go I just find the toy later” I said as I pulled his arm

It was an embarrassing moment for me but I think I managed to get through the day because of mom’s tea. I was really shocked and amazed by his talent.

From that day on, he would visit Yuki every weekend. We also get to play music and enjoy mom’s tea and cooking. There were days I thought I was so close to him but there are times that he remains to be a mystery. I think as long as we treat each other nicely it would be an enough reason for me to develop feelings for him. I don’t know where it will take me but I fond this rush that’s taking over me when I’m with him.
