A series of knocks nearly makes her jump, fingers hastily stowing letters away into an old shoebox. She shoves it under her bed before finally rushing towards the door.
“Just a minute!” she opens it then blinks. “Chaewon-unnie?”
“Took you long enough,” the other huffs. “Why’d you lock the door? What were you doing?”
“Nothing!” A bad lie. “I—wanted to be alone. Nako-chan likes to suddenly barge in if I didn’t lock it.”
A squint, “You’re hiding something.”
“I’m not!”
“Whatever.” Light, joking. Then a fond smile, a curl of fingers around her palm. “Come with me, lunch is ready.”
