Late Night Drive
Pairing: BaekhyunxOC
Baekhyun: Love, I just got out of the studio.
11:03 PM
My lips automatically formed into an upward curve as soon as I read his message. I had been waiting for him, not that he told me to wait of course. This had been our routine, kinda. On those nights when he had to stay out late for work, he would text me as soon as his schedule was over. Receiving updates from him without me asking was heart fluttering. Considering the fact that we had been together for over two years.
Me: I see, someone worked so hard again today, hm.
11:04 PM
I replied as soon as I could, feeling a bit sad that he had to go home late like this.
Baekhyun: I’m all good Love, don’t worry. Give me a minute, I’ll call you when I reach the car.
11:04PM
After receiving his response, I decided to close my laptop. Whatever I was doing could wait, I thought. Well, I didn’t really do much anyway as I was just stalling, waiting for my day to end with him. I stood and vacated my desk to sit comfortably on the bed.
He called me after three minutes.
“Hey love.” He greeted me as soon as answered his call.
“Hi,” I answered, the corners of my lips turning upwards at the sound of his voice.
“Is it okay to talk to you? You aren’t tired yet?” He asked consecutively.
I shook my head as if he could see me. “I’m fine Baek, I was actually waiting for you.”
“Ooh really?” He responded, obviously teasing me. “I love my clingy girlfriend.” He added, letting out of a small laugh.
“Shut up Baek.” I couldn’t help but giggle at how good his laugh sounded in my ears.
“Love, let’s switch to video call, I’m about to leave.” He suggested.
“M’kay.” I agreed as I tapped on the video icon.
In a matter of seconds, I saw him in the driver’s seat. He was wearing a white, long-sleeved top. His long hair naturally parted in the middle. He looked comfy and cozy. My heart actually hurts that I wasn’t with him right now.
I rolled on my bed, finding the most comfortable position while my eyes never left the screen of my phone. I watched him put his red seatbelt on before turning the engine on. One hand on the steering wheel and the other one on the gear, he glanced at me mouthing a silent I love you. Then he smiled my favorite smile, the one that reached his eyes.
The way the butterflies in my stomach reacted to the little things he did was a natural thing. I had to admit that there was something so heart-fluttering watching him driving.
He drove out of the basement and of the building and I was just busy watching him all the while. Honestly, I would never get tired of this view. He made a turn before he glanced at me once more.
“How was your day, love?” He asked while he was busy navigating the steering wheel.
Sure, I heard him but I was too engrossed observing him.
“Am I too handsome, right now?” He added, this time accompanied by a subtle smile as he was obviously teasing me for just staring. “Don’t you dare even deny, I can see your drool from here.” His smile widened before it turned into a complete laugh.
I let out of a small laugh, god I love his humor.
“My legs hurt,” I told him out of nowhere, wanting to answer his first question.
The expression on his face changed, he suddenly looked like he was scolding me.
“You wore heels again today, didn’t you?” He asked, obviously starting to nag.
I love how he would nag me for still wearing heels to work though I always complain about my feet and legs hurting afterward.
“I had a presentation today Baek. I needed to look presentable.” I reasoned out, trying to stifle a smile.
He rolled his eyes at me which made me burst out laughing.
“Excuse me miss, but you can wear a sweater, sweatpants and socks and you’re still going to look presentable.” He argued in a matter-of-fact tone.
“Presentable for you, mister.” I couldn’t help but point out.
He shrugged, taking his attention away from the road to momentarily look at me.
“Well, you have a point.” He agreed with a cocky smile on his lips.
There’s never a dull moment with this person, my heart is full.
He bent and reached somewhere in front which I believe was to turn his music on. He’d always do this, play some music in the background. He had a few late night dri
