BUS STOP

Rain. 

I had been waiting at the bus stop to go to school. My hair was a bit wet since I had to run here, forgetting to bring my umbrella with me today. I wiped my uniform using my hands, hoping it’d help but it didn’t of course. Looking at my watch, it said thirty-four minutes to seven eight o’clock. It also meant that the bus would be here any moment from now.

I stretched out my hand to catch the falling raindrops. Feeling the raindrops on my skin gave me a refreshing feeling. Engrossed with this thought, I heard the bus. I instantly retrieved my hand and got ready to hop on the bus. When the doors opened, I almost sighed at the sight of the situation inside. It was already jam-packed and there was no way I could sit. However, I still made my way in. The standing passengers filled every space possible.

It hasn’t been thirty seconds, yet when I felt a hand on my wrist, pulling me. My heart almost skipped a beat, my brain in a slight panic. However, the next thing I knew, I was staring at the very pair of eyes I tried to avoid in the last few days.

Baekhyun’s.

My mouth slightly fell open. I couldn’t rationalize what he just did. He pulled me near him even though the bus was packed. I couldn’t do anything but look at him, searching his eyes as if they could provide answers to the questions my head had yet to form.

“What were you thinking standing there, surrounded by men like that?”

His cold-sounding voice snapped me out of my thoughts. My eyebrows furrowed at his question, but checked the spot I occupied earlier and found out that he was right. But then again, I couldn’t justify why he cared about it in the first place.

We stayed that way until the passenger who was sitting on the chair next to us got off the bus. As soon as the chair was vacant, he nudged me to sit. I was hesitant to do it, but he raised an eyebrow at me kinda leaving me with no choice.

Already seated, I couldn’t help but get distracted by the proximity between us. He was so close, his arm would brush against mine from time to time. Glancing up at his face, I saw him already staring at me.

What is up with him today?

I swear I felt my blood run cold as I saw Chaerin hold the letter I was supposed to place inside Baekhyun’s Locker. She held it up before announcing it to everyone present in the locker room. Then, as if I didn’t feel like dying yet, Baekhyun and two of his friends came. They were busy talking and laughing when they noticed what was going on. Baekhyun’s previously smiling eyes turned curious. When his eyes darted to me, I silently asked the ground to eat me alive.

“Oh Right,” Chaerin exclaimed, her brows up. “Baekhyun is here, why don’t you give it to him personally.”

I tilted my head to one side before attempting to grab the letter from Chaerin but failed. I sighed in embarrassment, fully aware that everyone was staring at me already.

“Hey Baekhyun,” Chaerin called him, her eyes mocking me. “Seo Eun has something to give you.” She added, glancing at him before turning to me once more.

“Chaerin please,” I begged. “Just give it back to me.”

She immediately moved her head sideways.

“I’m only gonna give it to you if you confess to him personally…”

I shut my eyes closed, feeling the anger building inside of me.

“If you don’t, then I’m gonna rip this letter open and read it for everyone here.” She added, obviously challenging me.

My eyes grew wide as I heard what he just said. Knowing her since Middle School, I knew she wasn’t joking when she said she would read my letter out loud.

Sighing in defeat, I made a step towards Baekhyun. Chaerin’s smirk was so loud, I could just imagine the look on her face. Mustering all the courage I had left in me, I stopped in front of Baekhyun. My hands balled into fists as I was about to do something that I would never forget ever.

I slowly looked up and met his wondering eyes. I was so aware that his two friends were also staring at me, probably thinking how much of an idiot I was for what I was about to tell their friend.

I swallowed, trying my best not to break the eye contact. My heart was about to explode, pounding so loud behind my chest.

“I like-”

I wasn’t able to finish my sentence when I felt Baekhyun grab my wrist and lead me out of the locker room. Passing by Chaerin, he snatched the letter from her hand.

We walked out of the building, none of us glancing behind.  His grip on my hand was tight, but it didn’t hurt. He walked so fast, I had to double my speed to catch up with him.

We stopped behind the building, next to the bushes. There was no one in there except us. When he finally let my hand go, I felt that lingering situation.

“What’s inside this letter that you were so willing to let Chaerin make fun of you?” He asked, his breath slightly ragged.

I looked up at him and for a moment got lost at how he was staring at me right now. He seemed mad, but why exactly? However, I couldn’t help but adore every part of his face. His brows, eyes, nose, lips, and all the little moles.

“I like you.” I heard myself say.

He seemed taken aback for a second as he leaned away to straighten his back. He momentarily tilted his head down befo
