the story The story is family centric, with a huge dose of friendship and romance. It is basically a story mixed with summer themes and riches to rags as well. Biggest inspo is Schitts Creek ngl. I also wanted to write about a big family and its siblings fallling in love and how their partners play into the family dynamics. You will be applying to be one of the Young siblings. Family is the center of their world so I would like this to be reflected in your apps. The siblings' parents are currently retired and traveling the world together so they spend very little time at home or in contact with the siblings. This means the siblings rely on each other more than anything, even if they are being awful pain in the arses about it half the times. I'm planning on choosing 7 applicants although this number is tangible, depending on the application count. There hasn't been as much interest as I liked so I may fill in the vacancies with my own characters or start the story with whatever I get then take it from there. The siblings lived a luxurious life in Seoul since their family restaurant, Young Seoul, became a franchise of 16 stores so most of the younger siblings are not aware of the hardships the family went through in the beginning and were born with silver spoons in their mouths. Honestly, only the oldest 2 recall the simple life in little Nasan. The eldest sibling recalls helping out at the family restaurant as they grew up. A lot of the eldest's childhood memories come from the place which is why they are on a mission to resurrect the family's original roots, dragging the rest of their siblings in for the ride as well.
the basics The family name is Young (영), a Korean family currently living in Gangnam. Unless you decide to make a character who has gotten married and decided to take on their spouse's last name, everyone has the same parents, and therefore, the same last names. There will be no adopted children nor half blooded children because.... simplicity sake. This story is intended to be a crackfic so try to keep sob stories to a minimum tbh. And tbh, all the siblings LOVE each other and support everyone through thick and thin so I can't imagine the characters being in dark places tbh. The age range I am accepting is 15 to 38 (2004 - 1982). For face claims, use anyone u want as long as it makes sense. Taeyeon looks young af, I get it. But don't make her a freshmen in HS, pls, I BEG of you. Good general rule for me is using a fc who's within 3-5 years of your character's age. Song Jaerim and Kim Soeun are taken as fc.
the characters As long as your character's story centralizes on the family and how they contribute to the grand scheme of the story plot (like what position would they hold at the restaurant, how they play into the fact of living in glitter and glam to now living in a place where cockroaches make their daily apperances, etc), I'm okay with everything. Just make sure they have similar amount of positive & negative traits. Neutral traits, archetypes, tropes, are all optional. Also pls take note this is a very light hearted / cracky af when you apply.
the relationships Feel free to collaborate with other applicants; maybe u wanna be twins or are especially estranged/close. Just be warned that doesn't mean both apps will be chosen together. Feel free to include best friends, love interests, or even just a general jist of how u see your character interacting with the other siblings. For love interests, if the characters are legal, there are no limits aka they can have any ual orientation and limit is nonexistent. If you plan to apply within the 15-18 age, just keep it appropriate. I'd prefer not to hint that anyone under 18 in the story is involved in , especially since there would be real people face claims. Love interests can be from the town, travelers who heard about the famous restaurant, or even a friend who wants to help out, whatever you can think of tbh. Maybe they're a chef who has wanted to work for the franchise but was constantly rejected so their only chance to work at the restaurant is through the original location. Gimme a whole kdrama or something cliche as , I don't mind as long as its cute tbh lmao.
the OTHERS Ask away if you have questions, I most likely forgot something in the app. Anyways, this is basically about a bunch of rich kids being thrown into a broken down restaurant in a small town of about 117 people in an attempt to resurrect it. This happens in the summer of 2020 in a world where the virus never happened. Feel free to use another layout for the application if you would like as long as everything is there.
