(Special) A little lie won't hurt, right?

“I don’t know how I could get the wrong person that day.” The last word he heard just now replayed in his head as he walked to his next class. His next class was about to start that’s why he was in rush. On the way, someone greeted him.

“Going to class, Yibo?” Yibo noticed his brother.

“Yes.”

“Okay, have a good day. I will be home today, so if you want dinner, tell me.” Zhoucheng said and smiled, didn’t want to delay his brother to the class. Yibo smiled back and left. His mind was still reeling over the conversation between Minghao and Junhui. He was there listening to them earlier.

‘That’s why he comes to our way that time.’ Yibo mused to himself. His mind flew back a bit of his memories.

Flashback

“Oh, Wang Yibo. Here, here.” Yibo turned and walked towards his friends or accurately, the team that he often helped. One of them went to the same high school as him and somewhat stuck with Yibo most of the time at school because their same interest in dancing thus they’re somehow friends. “The lord is here. Down to your knees!”

“Stop it, Zhengting.” Yibo gave a look at the guy. Zhengting chuckled.

“Too bad this time you didn’t join our team, or we will score number one easily.” Zhengting commented and put his arm around Yibo. Yibo sighed.

“Sorry for that, but I’m eyeing the individual prize.”

“No sweat, we all know and understand.” Another guy, Yixuan said. The other two members, Xujia and Zhiguang also nodded in understanding. “So, how’s your condition today?”

“Aiyoo, Xuan-ge. Why need to ask, has ever Wang Yibo missed his eyed prize?” Zhengting said proudly. Yibo sighed.

“Ge, you have my respect dealing with this chatty brat.” Yibo said and let go Zhengting’s arm around him. “Good luck. I need to warm up for the stage.”

“Okay, see you soon. Good luck, even you didn’t really need it.” Yixuan said. Zhengting was protesting about Yibo’s comment but everybody was ignoring him. When Yibo walked to the waiting room for him and few other individual contestants, he saw a guy bringing a plastic bag into the room. He frowned as he didn’t remember seeing the guy in the preliminary round. Yibo stood at the door, searching for the unknown guy. He found him at the corner, standing and handing the plastic bag to one of the contestants that Yibo remembered. That contestant is unique, his singing voice is more advanced than his dancing. The judges liked him and give a pass because his voice didn’t shake with the dance steps that aren’t easy either. That made Yibo impressed with that contestant too and remembered him.

“I swear to god, Zhennan. You dare make me run and come here because you forgot your tonic drinks.”

“Sorry! But you know I need it.”

“That’s why I’m here you fool. You’re lucky I know one of the staffs so he let me to the backstage.”

The Zhennan guy grinned sheepishly as he opened the bottle. He took a sip and looked relieve. “Now you’re here, will you stay?”

“Nah, I have things to do. Why, do you need me to stay?”

“Oh come on, Minghao. Support your best friend, can’t ya?”

The Minghao guy looked at his friend. Yibo finally could see his full front profile as Minghao leaned against the table next to Zhennan, facing him in a way. At that, Yibo couldn’t help but kept glancing at the said guy. Call him a creep, he sneakily took a stolen picture of the guy he can’t help it.

“I know you can do it. I would like to stay but you know I have those things to do.” Zhennan sighed.

“I know, I know. I’m just asking. Who knows you will pick me over your grade?”

“My grade is more important.” Zhennan laughed.

“I hate you.”

“I hate you too.” Minghao stood properly. “I’m going.”

“Okay, thank you for this, really.”

“Not a problem, but don’t make me do this again. I’m not your servant and you also shouldn’t forgot your stuff. Anyway, good luck. I believe in you, dude.” Minghao said patting Zhennan’s shoulder. The guy nodded, they shared a smile before Minghao left. Yibo quickly looked away when Minghao came to his way as he stood near the entrance. Their eyes met for split seconds but that’s all. Minghao left and Yibo glanced at the leaving back until disappear before looking at his phone.

He is… an angel.

Since that day, Yibo always thought about the attractive stranger. He heard the two friends’ name in their conversation that day but he wasn’t sure who they are. By the time the competition got to its grand finale, Zhennan, he and a girl made to final for individual category while Zhengting’s group made to the final in group category as well. They all shared the same waiting room so Yibo sat with the group. At that time, the group was hushed gossiping about the girl before it goes to Zhennan. Yibo just listened to them.

“Oh, I know that guy. He’s studied in Yangze Arts Institute.” Zhengting said.

“Oh, elite student.” Xujia exclaimed.

“Yes, yes. But he’s not a dance student thou.” Zhengting told them.

“Oh, really?” Zhiguang questioned. Zhengting nodded.

“I’m not sure his course but definitely not dancing. He just had it in him, because he’s a dancing partner to his best friend. They attended the same institute.”

“It can be like that ah?” Yixuan asked. Zhengting nodded again and whispered some more to them.

“This Zhennan ah, has been friend quite long with this cool guy who is excellent in dancing. This friend, he’s like our Yibo. Cold, don’t have many friends. Zhennan is the only one so this friend always take him to practice. Eventually, Zhennan became good as well. But his gift is his voice.” Zhengting said. Yibo perked up when his name is mentioned. He took the chance to involve in the conversation.

“You’re dissing me?” Yibo looked at Zhengting. Zhengting grinned.

“Aiyoo, I’m praising you ah. You’re good dancer even you’re cold, like this guy.”

“You know the name?” Yixuan asked, Yibo was thanking him inside for asking what he wanted to but cannot without being suspicious. Zhengting fell silent for a while. Yibo waited. He needed to know if the friend Zhengting talked about is the Minghao guy he kept thinking of.

“Ah, I remember.” Zhengting looked around, making sure no one noticed they’re gossiping moreover Zhennan. “It’s Xu Minghao.”

The other nodded. Yibo looked impassive but he’s smiling inside. Xu Minghao from Yangze Arts Institute. Brother goes there too…

Thanks to Zhengting, Yibo got to know a bit more about Minghao. He’s eventually grateful to his friend silently and also took the chance that his elder brother also went to the same institute. Yibo sometimes went to the institute with his motorbike to find Minghao. He eventually saw him one time, from far. And Minghao was with Junhui at that time, Yibo knew Junhui is his brother’s best friend. Yibo couldn’t believe they actually have that kind of connection like a fate. Yibo came too often that he was caught by his own brother one time at the institute.

The competition, Yibo won the first prize and got the money. With the money he aimed to buy himself motorbike that he’s using right now. And from that competition as well, someone from Yangze Arts Institute contacted him to recruit him into their new special programme. With that, he lied to his brother the reason he’s at the institute that day. Zhoucheng just believed him as he didn’t think Yibo would lie, well a half lie anyway. That day was the Valentine’s Day. As Zhoucheng heard about the recruitment, he helped Yibo to go to the office then bring him around before they met with Junhui who is getting ready to meet Tia.

When they’re talking beside the class, Yibo noticed someone coming to their way. He was stunned to see the guy he had been thinking (read: stalking) walking towards their way. He felt a nervous breakdown, something unusual for an impassive Wang Yibo. He didn’t know what to do, his mind told him to move and run but his heart made him do otherwise. He intercepted Minghao’s step.

“I like you! Please go out with me.”

End of flashback

Yibo greeted the lecturer together with the rest. He packed up, like everyone else. He smiled to himself. ‘It’s a fate, I believe.’

Yibo left the lecture room and took out his phone, sending text message to Minghao. He remembered Minghao’s class would end till late today so he decided to do something else while waiting for Minghao to finish his class.

Yibo went to the study hall where he could use PC for surfing internet. There’s not much students there at this time so he took the farthest and hidden place from others. For the days he had been attending this institute, this wasn’t his first time here as he often came when he had to wait for Minghao so he knew his way already. Opening the web browser, Yibo started to type something. He opened a website and logged in. A weibo account came up on the screen. Yibo scrolled through the main page before going to the hashtag he had saved.

If anyone could see his screen at the moment, people would be questioning why there’s so many Minghao’s picture, good and bad, on the timeline. Yibo didn’t log into his personal account but another account. An anonymous account that used Kermit as profile picture.

Yibo was going through the hate hashtag anti-fans made for Minghao. That’s explained you why there’s so many Minghao’s picture. Silently but meticulously, Yibo reported all the malicious and hating posts. Yes, he had been the one doing so till now, he’s the one who reported the anti-fan page and made a fan page for Minghao. He’s not that oblivious, he knew people started this because the confession on Valentine’s Day. He knew his fans started this and of course he’s not going to let them affecting Minghao. He might look like he doesn’t care but he knew a lot than you think.

Yibo felt bad that he couldn’t do anything about students here keep giving them a look. He wanted to shoo them off but it would be out of his character, plus Minghao didn’t try to say anything about it. He felt hurt that Minghao didn’t express his discomfort but he looked pass it for now. He made promised that he won’t stay put if any of them started to be physical with Minghao. He, doing the reporting online and started a fan page could backfire if the fans knew, but he couldn’t ignore it anymore when there’s people started to post death threat on Minghao. He’s not sure if Minghao saw that but he acted fast to report them all. Yibo won’t show any mercy as they also didn’t give mercy to Minghao. After all, this hating started because of him. If he didn’t intercept the confession…

Yibo shook his head. ‘If I didn’t do that, I won’t get to be closed to him like now. Focus Wang Yibo, woo him like you have planned.’

Yibo had thought it all, he planned to make Minghao officially his soon.

“Here, your favourite.” Minghao blinked and looked up. Yibo gave him a smile as he placed down the food. Another lunch together, and Zhennan had expertly fled.

“Thank you but I’m not really hungry… told you I will just accompany you eat.” Minghao said. Yibo sat down.

“Well, we can share.” Yibo said grinning. At that, Minghao realized Yibo actually only bought one plate.

“Wait, Yibo. You don’t like this dish.”

“It’s not that I can’t eat it. Come on, you have to eat too, okay?” Yibo said taking the spoon and scooped some bringing to Minghao’s mouth. Minghao startled.

“I-” Minghao didn’t get to say more as Yibo already put the food in his mouth. Yibo just smiled innocently before begin to eat as well. Minghao chewed slowly as his cheeks heated up. Did Yibo just spoon-fed him and used the same spoon? Minghao mused and freaked out internally.

“Now, some more.” Yibo said, ready to feed Minghao again. Minghao blinked.

“Yibo-” Nope, Yibo didn’t wait for the words. Minghao stared at him.

“I have notice you didn’t really eat well lately. I don’t know what’s happening to you, but I’m not going to let you ruin your body even more by skipping meals. Now, just let me feed you.” Yibo said glancing at Minghao. Minghao noticed the worried look and he turned speechless. Feeling bad, he just nodded silently. Yibo smiled. “Good boy.”

Minghao just let him being fed like that. Since his talk with Junhui, he had been thinking. Yibo was treating him damn well and he sometimes felt guilty. Those thoughts surely made him lost appetite somehow. He didn’t know Yibo noticed it too. And that made him feeling lot worse.

He was thinking how to tell Yibo about this. But he’s afraid too, what if Yibo hated him after that? That possibility scared him. Somehow, Yibo had grown in him and he couldn’t imagine if they don’t meet in future. Am I liking him like qianbei said? Minghao thought.

“You’re making that face again.” Minghao blinked when Yibo’s finger touched the knot in between his brows. Yibo sighed. “Should we do something to change the scenery?”

“Hm?”

“Are you free this Friday after class? I’m bringing you somewhere.” Minghao frowned.

“Where?”

“That’s a surprise. Tell me, you’re free or not?” Yibo asked with hopeful eyes. Minghao blinked once. Even though I have things, I will say yes to those eyes… this is an attack. Minghao said to himself. He nodded. “You’re free?” Yibo asked for confirmation.

“Yes.”

“Great. Or else I will be mad. Do you even remember that this Friday is our 1-monthsary together?” Yibo said slightly pouty. Minghao blinked.

“Oh.”

“Yes, oh. So, let me surprise you and make you feel better!” Yibo gave a full smile. Minghao couldn’t help but smiled back. “Come, last spoon.” Yibo said and gave the last bite to Minghao. Minghao just took it without a protest. They shared a smile and Yibo reached to caress the cheek. Minghao startled and felt shy. “Cute.”

“Stop it.” Minghao pushed the hand slowly. Yibo laughed happily. He cleared the plate then turned to Minghao.

“Don’t forget this Friday, okay? It’s a date.” Minghao nodded blushing. Yibo smiled and got up, giving his hand. Minghao gingerly took it and stood up as well. The other guy just smiled and intertwined their fingers, pulling Minghao to leave the café and went to their next class. Both of them practically ignored all those gazes thrown at them the whole time, Yibo as usual ignore while Minghao didn’t notice it as he’s occupied by Yibo.

Minghao met Yibo at the parking lot after class that Friday. Yibo as usual waited for him with his motorbike. Minghao noticed Yibo had a change of cloth. “You went home?”

“No, just bring a spare. I got a dance class today so I’m a bit sweaty. I took shower while you’re in the class.” Minghao nodded.

“But then, I have dance class too earlier. I sweat a lot.” Yibo smiled and helped Minghao to wear his helmet.

“That’s why we’re going to your dorm first. You can get shower and change before I bring you out.”

“You will be waiting again.”

“I can wait in your room?” Yibo gave a grin. Minghao blushed to the thought.

“I- uh, you-”

Yibo chuckled. “Your dorm has that shared space right? I will wait there.” Yibo said and got on his motorbike. “Come on.”

The motorbike left the parking lot after that to Minghao’s dorm. Yibo parked his motorbike and both of them got down. Walking together into the building, Minghao felt shy all the way. When they arrived in front of his dorm door, Minghao took a breath. He unlocked the door and presented by the view of Zhennan chilling out on the couch of their shared space.

“You’re home? You said you’re going for date- oh.” Zhennan’s words died when he noticed Yibo trailed behind Minghao.

“I brought him to get ready first.” Yibo grinned. Zhennan nodded. Yibo was about to walk to sit with Zhennan when Minghao stopped him.

“Wait in my room.” Minghao said bashfully. Yibo blinked once and then smiled. Zhennan gave a knowing look. He’s about to tease but Minghao already fled and pulling Yibo together.

“Remember that I’m still here okay! Use protection!” Zhennan managed to shout teasingly.

“Zhou Zhennan!” Minghao shouted back and slammed his door after Yibo got in. Zhennan guffawed while Yibo stifled a laugh. Minghao was blushing madly and avoided to meet eyes with Yibo.

“You… can sit anywhere you like. I will go take shower.” Minghao said in stutter and quickly left. Yibo just smiled fondly watching Minghao’s cuteness. He then decided to sit at Minghao’s study desk while the male went to shower. Yibo did nothing much, just looked around Minghao’s room once before he took out his phone to play game.

Minghao didn’t take long to shower and luckily he didn’t forget to bring his change or else he didn’t know how he could get out. When the door opened, Yibo looked up and smiled to see fully clothed Minghao fresh from shower.

“Awh, I thought I get to see some skin.”

“Yibo!” Yibo laughed. Minghao ignored him and got ready, drying his hair just a bit with towel before proceed to take out his wallet, phone and watch from his bag. He was wearing his watch when Yibo took the towel that hanged on his head. Minghao turned and slightly gasped when he noticed how closed Yibo was. “Give back the towel.” Minghao asked.

“Let me dry your hair. It seems like you’re not drying it properly.” Yibo said reaching to dry the hair with the towel. Minghao blushed. “Do you have hair dryer thou?”

“I don’t use because I got shorter hair, Zhennan did. It’s in his room.” Yibo hummed.

“Your hair is not that short. We’re on the same length.” Yibo said. “Sit here. I’m getting the hair dryer.” Yibo made Minghao to sit on the bed before going out from the room. Minghao just blinked because it happened too fast. He heard Yibo talked with Zhennan outside before he returned with hair dryer. Yibo plugged in to the socket near the bed and asked Minghao to scoot closer. Minghao’s heart jumped as Yibo touched his deep blue hair. Yibo secretly loved the shampoo scent and the smoothness of the hair. Minghao felt embarrassed but happy at the same time, he never knew he likes someone played with his hair.

Later, Minghao is ready to go out and they headed out. Zhennan was whistling at the pair when they came out from the room. Yibo just chuckled while Minghao shushed his best friend. They walked out together from the building and went to the motorbike. The dusk already came.

“It could be chilly, trust me.” Yibo said convincing Minghao. They’re arguing a little about jackets earlier. Minghao didn’t want to wear a jacket but Yibo asked him as they’re going to be exposed to the night wind on the road. Minghao only left with a leather jacket from his clean cloth and that jacket didn’t match his outfit, he cared about fashion a lot same as Yibo. But for Yibo, anything Minghao wore looks good. Whipped.

They rode through the night to where only Yibo knew. Minghao didn’t recognize the road after a while. It seemed like Yibo intended to bring him somewhere new and a bit far.

They then arrived at a building in vintage style. Minghao could see many table and made guess it’s a restaurant. “Come on.”

“What is this place?”

“A Chinese cuisine restaurant but with western vintage style. I know the owner and practically a regular customer since the opening.” Yibo explained and brought Minghao into the restaurant. They’re greeted by a waiter at the door.

“Ah, Bo-ge.” Yibo smiled to the waiter who greeted them. “Boss has told us you’re coming tonight. The best place is reserved.”

“Thank you, tell boss I’m grateful.” The waiter nodded. Yibo swiftly led Minghao to the reserved table. He didn’t need an as he practically knew his way. Some other workers who knew Yibo also greeted them on the way. Everyone also smiled to Minghao with a meaningful look. Minghao just smiled back.

Yibo pulled the chair for Minghao. Minghao looked at Yibo. “I’m not a lady, Yibo.”

“Just indulge me tonight, okay?” Yibo said pleading. Minghao sighed and sat down. Yibo smiled and sat across him. Minghao just noticed the table was at the very corner and away from others. The sides were glass wall that showed them outside. Minghao just noticed the restaurant was near to a river.

“There’s a river behind this restaurant and this seat is the only one you could see the river. Wait for a bit, you will see something.” Yibo said. Minghao was a bit lost. The light around them suddenly dimmed. Minghao looked around at the light before turning to Yibo. Yibo smiled and pointed to the window. Minghao turned to look and smiles came out. Outside in the darkness, there’s small lights blinking around.

“Fireflies?”

“Yeah. It’s the beauty of this place. The owner never advertised this thing but he told to his acquaintances and it became famous place among his circles. He didn’t really open this table for outsiders anyway, unless the person wanted to make a special event here.”

“Event?”

“Like proposing for marriage.” Yibo said with a smile. Minghao was looking at him and then turned shy. Yibo giggled at that blushing face. “Ready to order?”

Minghao just nodded without a word. Yibo called for the waiter and they placed their order. After that, Minghao kept his eyes to the outside. He smiled lightly enjoying the small blinking lights outside.

“It’s pretty.” Minghao commented.

“Yeah, it is. So beautiful.” Minghao turned to look at Yibo who was looking at him. Minghao noticed Yibo wasn’t looking outside and realized the earlier word was about him. He blushed again and looked outside. Yibo just smiled fondly.

“I would never imagine we still have places to enjoy fireflies.” Minghao diverted the conversation away. Yibo hummed.

“It’s true. This place is a bit away from the town, and actually they’re not here from the start. The owner managed to bring it from somewhere and let them breed here. It took a long time and effort. You could say all of them are his somehow pets.” Yibo said jokingly.

“He likes fireflies?”

Yibo smiled. “His late wife did.” Minghao blinked and formed an O. Yibo just smiled. Their food came later. “Let’s eat first, then I will bring you out to enjoy the lights closer.” Minghao’s face lit up and nodded. They proceeded with their dinner, talking about mundane things like their classes and stuff. Yibo was happy seeing Minghao looked better than before. His effort went well. Minghao really did forget about everything except enjoying the night and Yibo’s company. He’s really happy for everything Yibo had done for the dinner. He never thought to have a romantic dinner with the great view like this. He liked this surprise and it will be a lie that he didn’t fall more for Yibo. He realized this. He really had fallen for Yibo, deep and hard.

The dinner went well and Yibo got up handing his palm to Minghao. Minghao shyly took it and walked with Yibo. The waiter already waited for them to open the door near them to the small yard that linked the restaurant and the river bank. The yard was lit with glow-in-the-dark bulb as the walking guide so that they could enjoyed the fireflies light purely with well-dimmed surrounding. Minghao smiled when the fireflies moved around him, blinking its pretty lights. Yibo also smiled. He brought the hand he was holding up. Minghao watched. Silently, Yibo opened their palm and waited for a while.

A firefly flew low and landed on their hand. Minghao let out a squeak but quickly shut up when the firefly moved to fly again. “Stay silent, they will come.” Yibo whispered silently. Minghao nodded. They waited again and this time, a pair of fireflies landed on their connected palm. Minghao’s eyes lit up and smiled brightly as he felt the grazed of the insect’s body and their lights on his palm. His eyes went up to meet Yibo. Even though it’s very dim, with fireflies’ light and clear moonlit sky, he could see Yibo’s eyes lit up brightly as Yibo stared at him. Minghao felt his cheeks heated up again.

They stayed silent, eyes matched together. For a while, they forgot about the fireflies and just lost in each other eyes. Yibo was the first one moved, taking both Minghao’s hands in his. The fireflies on their hand already flew away when Yibo first moved. Minghao looked down at their hands.

“Minghao.” Yibo’s soft call made Minghao looked up and his heart trembled. Those pretty eyes made his legs turned jelly. It glowed under the pretty lights, too mesmerizing. “You know today is one month since Valentine, and it’s White Day.”

Minghao gulped and nodded. Yibo smiled. “I still owe you something.” Minghao looked confused. “You asked me out. But I told you to let me know you better.”

Minghao internally freaked out. He suddenly remembered his stupid act at Valentine’s Day and he seriously came to guilty feeling again. “White Day is the day for the other person to confess back. So, this time it’s my turn, let’s make it our official first day. Xu Minghao, I like you so much. Be my boyfriend, officially?” Yibo finally said it. Minghao felt a lump in his throat. His mind was freaking out and his hands felt clammy. Yibo felt the tense through their hold, staring at Minghao’s eyes for an answer. Minghao took long before he could say something, and Yibo was seriously anxious waiting.

“Look. Yibo, before I could answer. I… have something to tell you. Because I don’t want to lie to you anymore.” Minghao said in small voice. He slowly pulled away his hands, rubbing it together as it got sweaty. Yibo didn’t say anything but watched Minghao fell into nervous wreck before him. “That day, on Valentine… I actually plan to confess to Jun-qianbei. No, don’t get me wrong, I don’t like him more than a brother. It’s just my stupid plan to stop him getting together with Tia. I don’t want him to get hurt by Tia. Tia is… in short a playgirl. I don’t want my best brother and senior to be one of her victims. So… I stupidly thought of a plan to stop him, by confessing to him.” Minghao said this while looking down. He’s afraid to see Yibo’s reaction. “I don’t know how I mistake you as him. And then the rest is history. I went blank when I realized I got the wrong person. I didn’t intend to lie to you, I want to explain to you but I’m afraid too. Also I always get the wrong timing whenever I feel like I’m ready telling you the truth.” Minghao bit his lips. His eyes got teary.

“For the days we have been going out and all, I begin to enjoy your company. That made me scared even more, I don’t want to keep lying but I’m scared if I told you, you will leave me. I… I like you too, I have fallen for you after knowing you better and spending times with you. I… I really like you, Yibo. I’m sorry for lying.” Minghao sniffled. He was really scared now that he came out clean. Yibo maybe told him he likes him but they started with a lie, it’s not something easily to forgive. For record, Minghao really hates liar and he thought Yibo is the same too as after the time they spent together, Minghao realized they’re very similar in a way.

Minghao froze when Yibo reached to hold his trembling hands with one hand and the other one reached to his chin. “Babe, look at me.” Minghao followed the upward movement and their eyes met. Yibo exhaled and wiped the falling tears. He smiled softly. “You’re crying.”

“You’re not mad?” Minghao asked, sniffling. Yibo smiled again.

“Not really. Because I know it already, baby.” Minghao froze in shock. Yibo just smiled softly and kept wiping the tears away. “I knew you have never know me before so I don’t really believe when you confess, but I play along because I don’t want you to lose face. Plus, you’re handsome, why would I reject?” Yibo tried to lift up the mood. He intertwined their fingers before moved closer pressing foreheads.

“But…”

“I have known the truth later on the day Zhennan came to find you telling about Junhui-ge and Tia. I followed you, till the practice room.” Minghao startled.

“You… were there? How much you heard?”

“Enough to know the truth happened at Valentine. And I’m not mad because I realized you aren’t exactly confessed to me. I feel relieved that you’re not doing it because of some bet or something. That will hurt more.” Yibo explained. Minghao tried to think, he made a guess Yibo didn’t hear long enough until Junhui was asking about his feelings. Minghao leaned back to look at his eyes.

“But I still lie to you.” Minghao said with guilty face. Yibo just smiled and cupped Minghao’s face with both of his hands.

“A little lie like this won’t hurt me, unless you’re lying about your feelings to me too earlier. You said you like me. Is that a lie too?” Minghao stared at Yibo. Yibo waited for the answer patiently. Minghao reached to cover the hands on his face before leaning forward. Their lips met.

It was their first kiss, under the moonlight sky and surrounded by the light of fireflies.

Minghao nibbled softly, intoxicated by the sweet lips. Yibo’s hands moved to pull Minghao closer by the waist and Minghao reached to wrap his arms around Yibo’s neck. Yibo deepened the kiss, prying open the lips with his tongue stealing more of the unique essence of Minghao. Their first kiss was lovely and a bit dominating, each wanted to show how much their feelings for each other. When air became the problem, Minghao pulled away first to catch a breath. Yibo was moving to press their lips together again still unsatisfied but Minghao softly pressed on the chest to stop him.

“Wait.” Minghao was panting for air. Yibo closed his eyes once to calm down and stole a peck before burying his face into Minghao’s neck. Minghao sighed in contentment. “Do you think I’m still lying?” Minghao asked after he caught his breath. Yibo shook his head. “I like you, Wang Yibo. Really.”

“So, official boyfriend?” Yibo asked sniffing the scent on the neck. The cologne that had been Minghao’s signature scent since they first went out together.

“I’m yours, always.” Minghao said.

“I am too, always. I like you Xu Minghao.” Yibo whispered and pecked the neck. Minghao blushed deep red to the intimate meaningful kiss. They enjoyed each other embrace and the scenery for a while, contented with happiness.

“Wait.” Yibo stopped Minghao from going. They’re in front of Minghao’s dorm, Yibo came to send him back after the dinner date. Minghao looked at his boyfriend. He secretly smiled to the call. He’s my boyfriend.

“Why?” Minghao asked when Yibo just stared at him.

“Sorry, you’re too beautiful that I forgot why I call you earlier.” Minghao clucked his tongue blushing as he pushed Yibo slightly. Yibo just giggled before taking out something from his jacket inner pocket. Minghao just watched. “I have prepared this gift for White day. I forgot to give it earlier.”

Yibo pulled out a brown bracelet. Minghao stared at it. Yibo took Minghao’s hand and slipped it on.

“It’s a couple.” Yibo said and showed off the one on his wrist. Minghao noticed Yibo had it since this morning. Yibo pulled the music note trinket that dangled from the bracelet. He showed to Minghao. “Your initial on mine and mine on yours.” Yibo said. Minghao looked at his bracelet. He smiled fondly, caressing the initial.

“You even give me this… I have never give anything to you…” Minghao commented, realizing how much he had receive from Yibo all this time. Yibo just smiled.

“Giving me your heart is enough.” Minghao faked a puke. Yibo just laughed.

“Seriously, I should do something for you too.” Minghao said.

“Well, you did give me Valentine gift?”

Minghao gasped. “Oh my god, not that!” Yibo guffawed. Minghao sighed. “Please, you spoil me so much. I want to do something for you too.”

“Why? You want to woo me too?” Yibo asked. Minghao blinked few times.

“Oh, of course! You’re wooing me all along before. Now, let me have my turn.” Minghao said grinning. Yibo smiled fondly.

“Whatever you wanted, baby.” Minghao smiled. They shared a stare with smiles, both of them didn’t want to part yet.

Yibo suddenly took out his phone. Minghao watched him. Yibo took the hand that had the bracelet and took a picture. He made sure to catch the couple bracelet on their hand and let the initial on his bracelet visible on the picture.

“What are you doing?”

“Making us official.” Yibo said and typed something on his phone. Minghao peeked. He saw Yibo was typing a caption for the picture to post on Weibo.

“Are you sure to do that?” Minghao suddenly felt worried. Yibo noticed and stopped typing. He turned to Minghao.

“Yes. I want everyone to know that you’re mine and I’m yours. Don’t worry, I won’t let people attack you.” Yibo said assuring Minghao. Minghao looked unconvinced but he nodded eventually. Yibo smiled and pecked Minghao’s cheeks. “Don’t care about what people said to you. You’re perfect to me and you’re all I need. I’m proud to have you.”

“I am too.” Minghao said. Yibo smiled and nodded. He finished his caption earlier, tagging Minghao’s weibo account and posted it out.

WangYiboOfficial’s caption:

I’m happily in relationship with my beloved @8XMinghao #14thFallsMeWithYou#

Comments by WangYiboOfficial: I dare everyone to attack my beloved boyfriend, if you want to get reported to the authorities for cyberbullying. I warn you. I know all your accounts, haters. I’m keeping proof.

Minghao got the notification for the tag and looked at his phone. He read the caption. “What’s with the hashtag?” Yibo smiled.

“It’s our couple hashtag. I want it.”

Minghao just nodded. He eventually read the comment Yibo left as well. Yibo noticed Minghao read it. “I have notice about the hate hashtag on you. I know it’s mostly my fans. Don’t worry I will protect you. Trust me, don’t get affected with them. They don’t know you.”

Minghao smiled. “Thank you, Yibo.”

“Anything for you.” They shared a smile. Minghao took a breath before leaning forward for a kiss. Yibo startled at first but eventually kissed back. At the same time, Minghao took a picture. Yibo noticed when he heard the shutter sound but they kept kissing. This time, Yibo pulled away.

“Seriously, if we keep at this, I don’t think I can leave.” Yibo said sighing. Minghao laughed.

“It’s too soon getting into my bed, you know.” Minghao teased. Yibo stared at him.

“Can’t I today?” Minghao scoffed and shoved him a bit while Yibo just guffawed. Minghao was doing something on his phone at the same time. Yibo watched him from the side. Later, his phone vibrated with a notification. Yibo looked at it and smile bloomed on his face.

“You’re bold. I like that.” Yibo smirked. At the same time, both of their phone began to vibrate violently. Minghao sighed.

“You’re too famous, handsome. I’m staking my claim. But now, it might drain our battery.” Minghao said tapping Yibo’s cheek lightly who grinned like idiot. He began to walk to the building. Yibo just giggled shaking his head. He liked that Minghao being forward and open about their relationship, not afraid of others. Minghao glanced back at the giggling Yibo. “You’re not coming?” Yibo startled.

“Eh?”

“I’m sleepy now.”

“You let me come in?”

“Well, it’s very late for you to return, not good to drive back. I’m letting you in because of that. Just to sleep, like sleep!” Minghao said and walked away. Yibo giggled and parked his motorbike properly before running after Minghao. He found a worried and shy Minghao is cute. Minghao ignored his boyfriend, he’s shy after all. The new official couple crashed on the bed once they’re in the room, purely nothing. Only sleeping while cuddling. It’s a very blissful night for both of them, to finally together without any doubt and lie.

Yibo roused from his deep slumber, not sure why. It was like wee hours in the morning, as he saw the red numbers on the nightstand. 3 am. Yibo frowned a bit feeling weird about his surrounding before realized he’s sleeping on Minghao’s bed. He remembered about them finally becoming official. At that, he turned slightly and found Minghao curled against him at his side. He smiled softly before watching Minghao sleeping for a while. We’re official, he’s mine. Suddenly he was too overwhelmed with feelings and needed to let it out but he didn’t want to wake up Minghao. Carefully, Yibo moved to take his phone that abandoned on the nightstand to be charged as the notification nonstop getting in after the post. Yibo turned it on and waited. The notification still came in but luckily he’s in ‘do not disturb’ mode so there’s no sound or vibrate.

Yibo ignored all those notifications and opened Weibo. He noticed all those notifications mostly from Weibo, his fans frantically commented on his post and also Minghao’s. He even received Wechat message from Zhengting and the crew congratulating him. No one from his circle knew that he’s going out with Minghao since Valentine. He didn’t bother to tell, after all it’s not official. When Yibo was about to make a new post on Weibo, a Wechat notification came in. From his brother.

Brother: Congratulation, you look happy with Minghao. I wish you the best.

Yibo decided to reply him with a thank you. He’s not surprised to find his brother awake at this hour because usually the elder brother took some freelance jobs on weekend and he will be awake till late. Yibo then opened Weibo again. He pressed to choose a picture to post and looked through his phone gallery before smiling as he found the specific picture. He selected that picture and began to type a long caption on Weibo.

WangYiboOfficial’s caption:

I have confession to make. I just want to make it clear to everyone and specially you, my beloved boyfriend. You might be shocked how I have this picture. So, I have seen and known you during this time, if I heard correctly, you came to visit your best friend at the competition. Since the first time I saw you, you have taken my breath away. Forgive this fallen man for snapping a stolen picture of you, but you’re too amazing to ignore. Gosh, if I didn’t heard your name called by your best friend that time I might just call you angel all this time. Haha.

Since that day, I keep thinking about you. Everybody knows I’m not a person who approached people, so I’m afraid to ask your best friend about you. I also don’t know how to search and approach you. This is all new to me, crushing on someone else. Maybe fate wants us to be together, I heard a friend of mine talking about your best friend and you, and from there I know you’re attending Yangze Arts. I may or may not stalking you by going to Yangze Arts few times just to see you. Yeah, I found you and I have been going there few times before we met at Valentine’s Day. I seriously think fate loves me when I got recruited by the institute for their special programme, so I use that excuse just to keep coming to Yangze, even using it as a white lie to my brother (sorry Cheng-ge). So then, Valentine’s Day happen to us and then I decided to attend Yangze so that we could be together often.

I’m happy. Really happy because I have liked you for sometimes now and then you came to confess to me. It’s a miracle really, from liking you secretly and then now boyfriends. I just want you to know, you’re the best for me and no matter what; I like you a lot. I want to use the other four-letter word but I want to tell you in person first. You’re sleeping now, I will just say it in the morning. And also, thank you, for officially accepting me as your boyfriend. I will make sure this title changed to something more meaningful in the future. You can’t get rid of me easily, I wish an eternity with you, baby. Happy monthsary to us, by the way.

To all the fans and also antis, I just politely request a respect to my feelings and my boyfriend. I’m happy that you all love me and all but I wish you guys could stop hurting my boyfriend. I won’t hesitate to take legal action if you guys keep bullying him, online or offline. I have been collecting proofs, I mean it. I wish you all could watch and be happy for me who have met this angel boyfriend of mine and very happy by his side. Thank you.

@8XMinghao let’s meet in the dream, baby.

Yibo posted that and then put his phone away. He smiled happily and reached to embrace Minghao. Minghao moved a little in his sleep, curling against Yibo for more warmth unconsciously. Yibo just smiled to the cuteness and gave a little kiss on the hair before closing his eyes, cuddling Minghao to sleep. “I love you, baby.”

The two slept soundly till morning. While they’re sleeping, Yibo’s heartfelt post had been shared around by his loyal fans and many of them started to congratulate Yibo and Minghao. They also found the hate hashtag and helped to report the post and accounts as well. Thanks to Yibo’s sincere post, everyone is going positive and started to support the couple like Yibo wished for. The morning will be a new start for them, and hopefully they will be together for eternity.

A/N: Hello Dolls! Hahahha damn it I took a bit more time to post the second part. Sorry. I seriously hopee you like and enjoy the story thou. I don't know I feel so satisfied writing this. To be very honest, I don't know about the plot, but it's all in my plan to have the extra part (A proud famous boyfriend announcing his relationship on SNS with sweet words. IDK why I suddenly like such thing haha). Anyway, I hope you can like the character, I feel like I make them so OOC hahhaa. I purposely use every name that always in my head whenever it comes to CPop. I have some more but for now, I put them only. Let me give a bit TMI as this is the last A/N anyway. Zhennan is so young but yet he's very mature, given he looks so cool if he's not smiling so I think he fits to be the best friend. You may only see his friendly and teasing side, what I didn't write is his attitude with other people, the cold side as described hahha. Miann, this story shall evolve around Minghao and Yibo only that's why. About Zhengting, Idk why I took him actually but he fits the character and I just want people to know him. If someone read this story haha. It's a crackship yaknow. Ok I ramble too much. Thanks for stopping by reading, I hope you enjoy the ride. See you soon in another story, Dolls, annyeong! COMMENTS ARE LOVED.
