The One Thing I Didn't Count On
Description
Donghae thought he had his life figured out. Graduate high school, go to college, find a decent job, and create his future loving family. He thought it was all set it stone but the one thing he didn't count on was meeting someone who would change the way he saw his life.
Foreword
"Donghae-ah, be happy, my son. I want you to do things that will make you happy, ok? Always...Always follow yo-your heart..."
Donghae's face was soaked with his tears as he held on to his fathers hands. He could feel him fading away and it scared him. It scared him that after today, after the next minute, he might not see his Dad ever again. He would never hear his voice again. The fact that right now would be the last time he would ever get to hold his hand this way again.
"I love you, son. I love you," Donghae's Dad kissed the top of his head as he tried to cradle him in his arms. He reached his hand out towards his wife and other son and held them close. He didn't want to leave yet but it was too hard to hang on. He felt tired and exhausted and sleep sounded pretty nice right now.
Donghae felt his father go limp even though he was the one who was holding on to him. He heard his mother and brother behind him cry out but all he did was bury his head in his father's chest and held on to his body tighter. He couldn't let go of him. Not today. Not yet.
A/N: So....believe it or not this story is not angst! Although, I do kinda hate myself since I just lost like a huge chunk of this story but I'll try to remember what I wrote and have this mini-story up before Valentine's Day is over! :)) There's a huge irony here as I write this story and I just shake my head in disappointment. :(
P.S. I hope ELFs all around the world can send positive vibes to Donghae so he feels better and support his new song, HARMONY! :)
