Violent Mass Murderer

INT. DAEGU - AFTERNOON

Sweet student MISS JIWON JEON is arguing with funny singer MR. TAEHYUNG KIM. JIWON tries to hug TAEHYUNG but he shakes her off.

 

JIWON
Please Taehyung, don't leave me.

 

 

TAEHYUNG
I'm sorry Jiwon, but I'm looking for somebody a bit more brave. Somebody who faces her fears head on, instead of running away.

 

 

JIWON
I am such a person!

 

TAEHYUNG frowns.

 

TAEHYUNG
I'm sorry, Jiwon. I just don't feel excited by this relationship anymore.

 

TAEHYUNG leaves.

JIWON sits down, looking defeated.

Moments later, silly singer MR. JUNGKOOK JEON barges in looking flustered.

 

JIWON
Goodness, Jungkook! Is everything okay?

 

 

JUNGKOOK
I'm afraid not.

 

 

JIWON
What is it? Don't keep me in suspense...

 

 

JUNGKOOK
It's ... a mass murderer ... I saw an evil mass murderer murder a bunch of people!

 

 

JIWON
Defenseless people?

 

 

JUNGKOOK
Yes, defenseless people!

 

 

JIWON
Bloomin' heck, Jungkook! We've got to do something.

 

 

JUNGKOOK
I agree, but I wouldn't know where to start.

 

 

JIWON
You can start by telling me where this happened.

 

 

JUNGKOOK
I was...

 

JUNGKOOK fans himself and begins to wheeze.

 

JIWON
Focus Jungkook, focus! Where did it happen?

 

 

JUNGKOOK
Hannam-Dong, Seoul! That's right - Hannam-Dong, Seoul!

 

JIWON springs up and begins to run.

 

EXT. A ROAD - CONTINUOUS

JIWON rushes along the street, followed by JUNGKOOK. They take a short cut through some back gardens, jumping fences along the way.

 

INT. HANNAM-DONG, SEOUL - SHORTLY AFTER

SEONGHWA PARK a violent mass murderer terrorises two people.

JIWON, closely followed by JUNGKOOK, rushes towards SEONGHWA, but suddenly stops in her tracks.

 

JUNGKOOK
What is is? What's the matter?

 

 

JIWON
That's not just any old mass murderer, that's Seonghwa Park!

 

 

JUNGKOOK
Who's Seonghwa Park?

 

 

JIWON
Who's Seonghwa Park? Who's Seonghwa Park? Only the most violent mass murderer in the universe!

 

 

JUNGKOOK
Blinkin' knickers, Jiwon! We're going to need some help if we're going to stop the most violent mass murderer in the universe!

 

 

JIWON
You can say that again.

 

 

JUNGKOOK
Blinkin' knickers, Jiwon! We're going to need some help if we're going to stop the most violent mass murderer in the universe!

 

 

JIWON
I'm going to need guns, lots of guns.

 

Seonghwa turns and sees Jiwon and Jungkook. He grins an evil grin.

 

SEONGHWA
Jiwon Jeon, we meet again.

 

 

JUNGKOOK
You've met?

 

 

JIWON
Yes. It was a long, long time ago...

 

 

EXT. A PARK - BACK IN TIME

A young JIWON is sitting in a park listening to some k-pop music, when suddenly a dark shadow casts over her.

She looks up and sees SEONGHWA. She takes off her headphones.

 

SEONGHWA
Would you like some chocolate?

 

JIWON's eyes light up, but then he studies SEONGHWA more closely, and looks uneasy.

 

JIWON
I don't know, you look kind of violent.

 

 

SEONGHWA
Me? No. I'm not violent. I'm the least violent mass murderer in the world.

 

 

JIWON
Wait, you're a mass murderer?

 

JIWON runs away, screaming.

 

INT. HANNAM-DONG, SEOUL - PRESENT DAY

 

SEONGHWA
You were a coward then, and you are a coward now.

 

 

JUNGKOOK
(To JIWON) You ran away?

 

 

JIWON
(To JUNGKOOK) I was a young child. What was I supposed to do?

 

JIWON turns to SEONGHWA.

 

JIWON
I may have run away from you then, but I won't run away this time!

 

JIWON runs away.

She turns back and shouts.

 

JIWON
I mean, I am running away, but I'll be back - with guns.

 

 

SEONGHWA
I'm not scared of you.

 

 

JIWON
You should be.

 

 

INT. SEOUL - LATER THAT DAY

JIWON and JUNGKOOK walk around searching for something.

 

JIWON
I feel sure I left my guns somewhere around here.

 

 

JUNGKOOK
Are you sure? It does seem like an odd place to keep deadly guns.

 

 

JIWON
You know nothing Jungkook Jeon.

 

 

JUNGKOOK
We've been searching for ages. I really don't think they're here.

 

Suddenly, SEONGHWA appears, holding a pair of guns.

 

SEONGHWA
Looking for something?

 

 

JUNGKOOK
Crikey, Jiwon, he's got your guns.

 

 

JIWON
Tell me something I don't already know!

 

 

JUNGKOOK
The earth's circumference at the equator is about 40,075 km.

 

 

JIWON
I know that already!

 

 

JUNGKOOK
I'm afraid of knives.

 

 

SEONGHWA
(appalled) Dude!

 

While SEONGHWA is looking at JUNGKOOK with disgust, JIWON lunges forward and grabs her deadly guns. He wields them, triumphantly.

 

JIWON
Prepare to die, you violent celery!

 

 

SEONGHWA
No please! All I did was murder a bunch of people!

 

TAEHYUNG enters, unseen by any of the others.

 

JIWON
I cannot tolerate that kind of behaviour! Those people were defenceless! Well now they have a defender - and that's me! Jiwon Jeon defender of innocent people.

 

 

SEONGHWA
Don't hurt me! Please!

 

 

JIWON
Give me one good reason why I shouldn't use these guns on you right away!

 

 

SEONGHWA
Because Jiwon, I am your father.

 

JIWON looks stunned for a few moments, but then collects herself.

 

JIWON
No you're not!

 

 

SEONGHWA
Ah well, it had to be worth a try.

 

SEONGHWA tries to grab the guns but JIWON dodges out of the way.

 

JIWON
Who's the daddy now? Huh? Huh?

 

Unexpectedly, SEONGHWA slumps to the ground.

 

JUNGKOOK
Did he just faint?

 

 

JIWON
I think so. Well that's disappointing. I was rather hoping for a more dramatic conclusion, involving my deadly guns.

 

JIWON crouches over SEONGHWA's body.

 

JUNGKOOK
Be careful, Jiwon. It could be a trick.

 

 

JIWON
No, it's not a trick. It appears that... It would seem... Seonghwa Park is dead!

 

 

JIWON
What?

 

 

JIWON
Yes, it appears that I scared him to death.

 

JUNGKOOK claps his hands.

 

JUNGKOOK
So your guns did save the day, after all.

 

TAEHYUNG steps forward.

 

TAEHYUNG
Is it true? Did you kill the violent mass murderer?

 

 

JIWON
Taehyung how long have you been...?

 

TAEHYUNG puts his arm around JIWON.

 

TAEHYUNG
Long enough.

 

 

JIWON
Then you saw it for yourself. I killed Seonghwa Park.

 

 

TAEHYUNG
Then the people are safe?

 

 

JIWON
It does seem that way!

 

A crowd of vulnerable people enter, looking relived.

 

TAEHYUNG
You are their hero.

 

The people bow to JIWON.

 

JIWON
There is no need to bow to me. I seek no worship. The knowledge that Seonghwa Park will never murder people ever again, is enough for me.

 

 

TAEHYUNG
You are humble as well as brave!

 

One of the people passes JIWON a silver necklace

 

TAEHYUNG
I think they want you to have it, as a symbol of their gratitude.

 

 

JIWON
I couldn't possibly.

 

Pause.

 

JIWON
Well, if you insist.

 

JIWON takes the necklace.

 

JIWON
Thank you.

 

The people bow their heads once more, and leave.

JIWON turns to TAEHYUNG.

 

JIWON
Does this mean you want me back?

 

 

TAEHYUNG
Oh, Jiwon, of course I want you back!

 

JIWON smiles for a few seconds, but then looks defiant.

 

JIWON
Well you can't have me.

 

 

TAEHYUNG
WHAT?

 

 

JIWON
You had no faith in me. You had to see my scare a mass murderer to death before you would believe in me. I don't want a lover like that.

 

 

TAEHYUNG
But...

 

 

JIWON
Please leave. I want to spend time with the one person who stayed with me through thick and thin - my best friend, Jungkook.

 

JUNGKOOK grins.

 

TAEHYUNG
But...

 

 

JUNGKOOK
You heard the lady. Now be off with you. Skidaddle! Shoo!

 

 

TAEHYUNG
Jiwon?

 

 

JIWON
I'm sorry Taehyung, but I think you should skidaddle.

 

TAEHYUNG leaves.

JUNGKOOK turns to JIWON.

 

JUNGKOOK
Did you mean that? You know ... that I'm your best friend?

 

 

JIWON
Of course you are!

 

The two walk off arm in arm.

Suddenly JUNGKOOK stops.

 

JUNGKOOK
When I said I'm afraid of knives, you know I was just trying to distract the mass murderer don't you?
