Friends?
Our Second ChanceA/N: I still think it's so disappointing how we weren't able to go to Tokyo this month. I know nothing could possibly replace the amount of fun we would've had- but I hope my writing pieces can help pass the time until next year comes! :) Also, Rio-chan, this isn't payback yet- just an update! hehe
BEWARE* This chapter is filled with a ton of drama!! I had this pre-written and it's primarily focused on AmuDai but YamaRio will be focus on the next chapter!!

Ryosuke and Daiki collapsed on the floor with their backs against the cool concrete wall. "That rehearsal took everything out of me," Ryosuke grunted as he reached for his water bottle.
"Dude, tell me about it." The latter nodded in agreement. "Watch out before you pass out and end up in the hospital again."
Ryosuke shrugged. "I don't mind actually-" He paused before taking a quick glance around the room to see if anyone else was listening nearby. "I'd throw myself off a bridge if it meant that I could see Rio again."
"You don't even have to do anything and you'll still bump into her somehow," Daiki stated, reaching for his phone in his bag. "Though it was all in situations where you're completely helpless."
"But I'm helpless now..."
"Well, Mr. Helpless, snap out of it or she'll miraculously pop up with her usual best friend and I'm not ready to confront her." Daiki sighed as he suddenly began pressing buttons quickly- almost as if he was texting someone.
Ryosuke glanced down at his friend's phone and raised an eyebrow. "Did anything happen last night?" He asked, then lowered his voice much lower. "With Rei and our plan?"
Daiki shook his head. "I couldn't bring myself to stay over at Rei's place but we talked instead. I didn't find anything out of the ordinary but one thing she said kind of stuck with me." Ryosuke stayed silent and patiently waited for Daiki to continue but what he said next wasn't what he expected at all.
"I think I'm going to give up on Amu.," Daiki said, taking a quick glance at Chinen who seemed to be happily talking on the phone. "I don't think I'm the right guy for her."
"EHHH?" Ryosuke exclaimed, nearly spilling his opened water bottle. His gasp was loud enough to capture the attention of the rest of the members in the room. Daiki glanced at his friend with murderous eyes but softened them as soon as he realized that Ryosuke was already shooting death gazes at him.
Within the next matter of seconds, Ryosuke grabbed Daiki by the arm and dragged him out into a nearby conference room before locking the door to make sure no one interrupts their conversation.
"WHAT THE HELL, DAIKI" was all he managed to utter before his eyes fell onto the phone that Daiki was so stuck to moments before. He snatched it from his hands and shook it in the air. "Who were you texting? Rei? Have you forgotten what she did to Amu back in high school?"
"Of course not!" Daiki retorted, reaching over to grab his phone but Ryosuke pulled it further away. The older one sighed and took a seat on the table. "I'm just trying to get on her good side so that IF she's the one behind these past incidents then it'll be easier for me to find the evidence."
"I'm not convinced. Why give up so easily? There's nothing standing between you and Amu besides the one thing we're already trying to eliminate."
"Chinen stood between us and-"
"CHINEN never had anything to do with your relationship." Ryosuke cut in. "Did you forget that he only came into the picture when Amu had no one by her side?"
"It- It's not like I had a choice to leave her." Daiki sighed, now feeling annoyed.
"As much as he didn't have a choice but to be there for her, Arioka. Chinen was right- the only thing impacting your relationship with Amu is your doubts."
"Are you done lecturing me now? You're not perfect either." The latter spoke, annoyance now evident in his tone.
"I never said I was." Ryosuke firmly retorted. "Unlike you, I have an actual external influence on my relationship with Rio."
"Well then, you shouldn't have gone and slept with someone you weren't serious with, to begin with."
Daiki immediately regretted what he said just as quickly as they came out of his mouth but before he was even able to catch a glimpse of Ryosuke's reaction, he was distracted by his phone being suddenly thrown at his arm.
"What a team," Ryosuke muttered before reaching for the doorknob. "Chinen made me swore not to tell you this in high school but I think that promise is overdue."
"What do you mean?"
"Chinen liked Amu way before you did- and he was planning to confess to her the same day as you but unlike you, he never had the opportunity. You're lucky you know, I'm just disappointed at how easily you throw luck away. Some of us could really use it, you know." Ryosuke concluded before slamming the door shut behind him.

"Did you bring your visitor card?" Rio asked and Amu dug into her bag for hers.
"Right here." The younger girl replied, briefly showing it to her best friend. As she placed the lanyard around her neck, she dangled the badge in front of her but frowned at the name on the card. "Do you think Dai-chan and Yama already requested deactivation of our access?" She asked, preparing herself for any foreseeable disappointment.
"Hopefully not," Rio answered, glancing at her own card.
'Yamada Rio- VIP guest of Yamada Ryosuke of Hey! Say! JUMP' it read with her high school picture plastered right next to the letters. She remembered when Ryosuke was eager to show her around his workplace back when they were just kids. They had just started dating and with her boyfriend being a famous celebrity, it was difficult to find the time to themselves. Ultimately, they concluded that the Jimusho could be their hangout spot and safe space if Rio herself ever needed to sneak away from her busy life.
The two girls carefully proceeded towards the back entrance of the Jimusho building, searching for that one door that's familiar to all the VIPs. "We're really doing this just for a hairbrush, huh." Amu wondered.
"One important hairbrush," Rio added, recalling their plan from before. With the DNA sample acquired from Satoko, Rio just needed Ryosuke's sample in order to conduct research in the laboratory facility of her hospital's branch. Sneaking into their lounge didn't seem too hard- all they had to do was not get caught.
As soon as they entered the building, they were immediately greeted by the security officer who looked sharp enough to even serve in Japan's military.
"Badges, please." He firmly requested, sending jitters up Rio's and Amu's spines.
The two girls lifted their cards for the guard to scan and anxiously waited for the light turned green. As soon as it did, the guard nodded and pointed towa
