My feet brought me to the resort’s bar. It’s already 3 in the morning, but I just couldn’t sleep. This resort is bringing a lot of memories back to and I think I can’t breathe. 

I ordered a beer and sat in front of the ocean view. I watch as the ocean come back and forth at the shore, when suddenly someone tapped my shoulder. 

“Hey J, mind if I sit down?” 

I looked at her blankly, then faced the bar, completely ignoring the intruder. 

“You’ve been grumpy.” 

“Don’t talk to me.” 

She sighed. “JJ, you can’t possibly still be mad at me.” 

“I can, Seulgi.” 

“It’s been years already.” 

“So?” 

“So, you should let it go already...” 

“Just because you moved on already, that doesn’t imply I should too.” 

“Who said I did?” 

“Your date screams you do.” 

“Irene? She’s Seungwan’s friend from college. Seungwan instructed her to take me to the beach. Luckily Soojoo’s wedding is held in a beach.” 

“That explains why.” I mumbled and took a sip of my beer. 

“I don’t think I’m the reason you’ve been a raging fire this weekend, JJ.” 

I looked at her with arched eyebrows. 

“Remember when Ji used to spend more time with her lab partner than with you? I felt how furious you were that time. I mean, I literally felt how. ‘Cause you held my wrist so tight while we were waiting for them to finish their project.” She says, eliciting a low laugh. 

“Wannie was there too.” She pauses to take a drink. “She was internally panicking, ‘cause she doesn’t know how to calm you down.” 

I smiled, imagining how Seungwannie looked like. 

“You got double furious when Ji insisted her to grab an ice cream before going home. Then you started mumbling. You know, Seungwan thought you were cursing the poor kid.”

We both chuckled. Oh, Seungwan unnie... 

“So, she came up with this brilliant idea.” 

“Your mom called.” We said once. 

“Ji, your mom called, she says the popcorn isn’t gonna be crunchy forever.” She says, imitating her wife. 

“You know why she did that, J?” 

I looked at Seulgi, “Because she knows Fridays are meant for movie nights?” 

“Yes. And also, because she hates seeing you upset...You see JJ, we sometimes do things for the people we love, because we don’t want them to suffer anymore.”
