Pari opened her eyes abruptly gasping for air.  Those images still danced across her  vision even though she was awake.  For the first time , she was glad that it was nightmare.
It was just a nightmare ...not real.

 Images of Kai lying in his a pool of blood filling her mind and she willed her mind to get away from those sick pictures. 

When she was calm enough to breath without having pain in her heart , she looked around disorientated to figure out her surrounding.

She was on a couch ,more precisely Kai's couch in his living room.  She took notice of the blanket wrapped around her and a small smile played on her lips.

She really admired how Kai respected her privacy and didn't bring her to his room like those cliché movies.

Even though she was not sure if Kai wanted to do that in the first place but whatever the reason might be , she was happy to find herself on a couch, not in some torture chamber .

Her mind was playing tricks as the images of a badly bruised Kai plagued her thoughts and she tried to run her fingers through her hair to sooth the growing headache.

That's when she noticed , her hair was neatly arranged in a braid . As much as she wanted to deny that Kai did all this , she knew it's the truth unless she made such a decent braid in her sleep.

Her heart was ready to burst out from the intensity of all those emotions swirling in it.

Pari knew the risk of being close to someone while having such dangerous profession and unfortunately she was familiar with the pain of losing loved ones too.

Her resolve was gradually breaking as Kai's action hit the wall around her heart strongly.  How would she stop herself from falling for this perfect human being ? He even remembered the way she liked to do her hair before sleeping! !

God ! She was doomed.

Having enough of those sentimental thoughts,  she took a deep breath.  She couldn't sit in peace and let her nightmare turn into reality.

Time to take some preventions! !



Kai grumpily stared at the television not even playing attention to the crap shown on it.

His mind was a jumbled mess.  It's been a day since he talked to Pari.  Last morning he woke up all cheerful to have breakfast with Pari , only to find a note.

A note which Pari had written saying she was leaving for an  important work. 

Guess the work is really 'important ' , since she didn't have time to pick up his calls. He went as far as texting her repeatedly but to no avail.

A huff left his mouth at the thought of the stubborn girl. He didn't know what was going on between them . He was not brave enough to confront Pari about the clarity of their relationship since he was afraid he would lose her forever.

Not that she was ever his but even if there was no name to their relation, he liked her company a little too much.

The ringing of his doorbell got his attention and he went to open the door with a sulking face.

"Hello there Neighbour ." Kai's jaw dropped on the  floor as he looked at the now smirking Pari with a pizza box in her hand.

"If you're done with checking me out , can you let me in ?" Pari asked amused and watched as Kai give her space to enter his apartment.

"You are the new neighbour that moved in today ?" Kai asked not being able to overcome the surprise just yet.

He just knew that he was going to have new neighbour but indeed he was damn glad after getting the neighbour.

"Yes. You always seem to call me for movie night and I can't spend all my money on fuel.  So I thought why not move  in ?" Pari shrugged her shoulder taking a slice of the pizza .

" You can always move in with me. "Kai said without thinking and Pari froze in the middle of her bite.

An awkward atmosphere took over the room as Kai smacked his head internally for being an idiot.

Kai cleared his throat and took a bite of the pizza to get rid of some tension.

"Nice show. " Pari was amused at Kai's word as she looked at the news programme playing on the TV.

That was a typical face palm moment for Kai and he did that exactly.


Deciding to save him from further embarrassment,  Pari changed the topic.

" I am sorry for not answering your calls. Getting the new place was such a pain. " Pari apologised sincerely and Kai's face soften immediately.

"Why did you have to move in here so fast ?" Kai asked genuinely confused.

"For your protection.  The case is getting messier and police can't take the risk. " Pari answered deliberately avoiding the details.  Kai didn't need to know about the things she discovered yesterday.

" What about Sehun?  He is also involved with the explosion. "Kai asked worried and Pari felt her heart melt at his care and love for his best friend.  Even though they fight like Tom and Jerry,  there was no doubt Sehun and Kai were best friend goals.
