The morning air was crisp and chill as an entire party of people were gathered to see Renjun off. He was allowed however long he wished to be with his family until it was time for the palace to take him in so a month and a half later, the time had come. Renjun was taking only a handful of items as every necessity would be provided, so he took the chance to include the newly received birthday gifts and all his favourite books and accessories.

He was awfully sturdy for being the one being married and instead his family and friends couldn't keep their tears at bay. Chenle kept crying in Yukhei's arms and his parents continuously dabbed their eyes with handkerchiefs. Donghyuck was definitely the least emotional person among them but the tears in his eyes said otherwise.

Sicheng sniffled and kept pestering Renjun to take care of himself, repeating his words again when he got the chance. 

"You do know I'm not getting married yet, right?" Renjun cut in, "there's still the engagement and wedding." 

"Vampire laws are different than ours, Renjun", Sicheng replied, fixing the shawl around his brother's shoulders, "Who knows what they have in mind".

Placing a hand in Sicheng's shoulder, Renjun smiled at him and said, "I'm sure they're lovely people. They let me be with you'll for however long I wanted, doesn't that prove something?"

Sicheng gave his brother a weary look, wanting to say something in return, but he only shook his head and kissed Renjun's cheeks saying, "just take care of yourself".

Giggling at the familiar words, Renjun replied, "You as well".

"Soon I'll be an uncle!" Yukhei chimmed in, moving to wrap Renjun in a hug, who laughed and shifted his arms to get more comfortable.

"Are you referring to me or Renjun?" Sicheng asked, raising a brow with his hands on his hips.

A grin broke out on Yukhei's face as he answered, "Both" and his elder brother groaned in response.

"You know", Sicheng shot back, "Renjun's getting married before you and here you are, single as ever".

Yukhei's face turned red as Renjun laughed louder, earning a 'you're mean' from the boy.

After a while Chenle, Donghyuck and Yuta joined in
