A sizeable carriage pulled by two chestnut horses awaited Renjun at the entrance of the  Huang residence, a coachman and footman stood respectively to attend the ride. Quite to everyone's surprise, a young man as well. At first he looked like the charming boys of their village, cheery eyed and exited but, it wasn't long till everyone saw clear signs of him being a vampire. The pale skin and gleaming hair gave him away and if not, his strikingly handsome face. It was rare to see a vampire in their small village, the Huangs being the village heads gave a clear track of who came and went. The occasions would only rise for ways of trade, lodging or simply entertainment. Renjun knew many came from afar to witness the alluring display of traditional dancing that was performed by the dance club of the village, lead by non other than Sicheng. Catching a glimpse of a vampire was no easy task. They blended in finley with humans and often covered their features under hoods and cloaks, especially when the sun was at its peak. Renjun knew they were feeble to it, unable to gain what nurturing it had to give. He'd read that it was the cause of their pale, sheet like skin that bloomed red once a supply of blood was given. He often wondered over the biological functions of vampires and though similar to humans in many physical aspects, Renjun knew how differently their bodies worked. One would call him out about his infatuation with these creatures but he simply chalked it up to mere curiosity.

Renjun moved towards the carriage and was greeted by the man. He had a fine jawline and tall nose, dressed in a purple attire which complemented his pale hair.
"Good day, master Renjun. I hope you are doing well."
Renjun quickly bowed in greeting and smiled. "Good day, sir. Thank you for your concern." 
The man shared a small smile with him and looked towards Renjun's leaving party. All stood curious but a good distance away from them. The man didn't mind, or he sought to ignore their behaviour.
"It must be hard to leave home and so young at that". He commented with an air of sentimentality, Renjun turning to him with a quizzical look. The man didn't seem fazed and kept his smile on his face. 
"If it is your wish we may stay longer." He continued.
Renjun's smile turned bashful and the man simply chuckled before nodding his head towards the others.

          The sun had risen by the time Renjun was on his way, waving his hand and sticking his head back inside only when the view of home had vanished. He heaved a sigh but composed himself in seconds when he grew aware of the other sitting parallel to him in the cushioned carriage. The man's lips pulled into a smile but only slightly.

"I hope you don't mind me a accompanying you on this journey to Rubes" the man said apologetically to which Renjun quickly shook his head to.
"Not at all! I'm glad I have someone to travel with else it would be completely foreign to me".
"I am pleased to hear that", the man confessed, "My name is Lee Taeyong and I have been assigned to be your to Rubes. Upon the his and her majesty's  orders, I have to promise you with a comfortable and safe journey."
Renjun could only nod his head in acceptance, deeply embarrassed yet touched by the king and queens thoughtfulness. His heart began to thump at the thought of the vampire's acceptance towards him and so far, they were on the positive side.

Outside, the tress moved with the touch of the breeze, the sky a sharp blue colour. Renjun didn't know what the Kingdom of Rubes would look like. He was going to find out but the thought of being away from home did sadden him. His birthplace and childhood grew more distant as the carriage kept moving. Reminding himself of want he was chosen to do, Renjun turned to face Taeyong who was eyeing the sky
