Amu chocked on her rice soon after hearing her dad's blunt sentence.

"What do you mean you found someone for me?" She furrowed her eyebrows, reaching for her water bottle. 

Across the family dinner table, her dad stared back at her intensely as her mother lowered her eyes towards the dinner. 

"You remember the Yamada family right? The family that we brought over a month ago to discuss business matters with?" Her dad replied.

"Yes of course, but I thought they only have daughters.."

"They also have a son around your age. He was busy that day so he couldn't show up. If I remember correctly, 'Ryosuke' is his name"

"I don't get it- why me? Why not my brother? He's older." 

"Sei already has a girlfriend and she's the daughter of a wealthy business man. You on the other hand, aren't seeing anyone right? Why not take this opportunity to meet someone new?" 

"Well..." Amu began, nervously fumbling with her skirt. "What if I was already dating someone?" 

"WHO?" Her dad yelled, slamming his hands on the wooden table before proceeding to point his finger at her. "If you're still dating that Arioka boy even though I told you to break it up-"

"I'm... not." Amu lied, stunned by his sudden outburst. "I was just wondering hypothetically.."

"Well then..." Her father grumbled. "Hypothetically... If you were to be dating someone, he'd better be the son of a billionaire because you know how badly my company needs the money. If we go under, you, your mom, and I will be homeless. Do you want that?"

"Of course not."

"Then it's set. You are to at least meet this young man."

An eerie silence fell under the Kitagawa house and both of her parents sighed. 

"I'm not doing this to hurt you Amu.." Her dad insisted. "I met this young man before and he seems capable of taking care of family. He's smart, well-mannered, and a hardworker. I'm not trying to set you up with some crazy guy."

"Finish your food Amu, it's getting cold." Her mother pleaded, her eyes filled with apology. 

"I'm not hungry anymore." The young girl replied, grabbing her bowl before proceeding to the kitchen. 

"He's transferring to your school tomorrow." Her father yelled out. "Please see to it that he adjusts comfortably." 

"What about my comfortability?" Amu mumbled, closing her bedroom door behind her.
