Without You
Unrequited Love ComplicationOn the other side of the door, Rio blinked in surprise as she watched the boy in front of her confess his true feelings. It was strange because she knew that he was talking about her yet, she isn't who she said she was.
Rio does admit that he seems to have a good personality but could she really bring herself to fall in love with someone who was already unknowingly engaged to her friend?
"I'm glad that you can be yourself around me. I know how exhausting it can be to have someone want you for who you seem to be yet, not who you really you are." Rio paused. "Does that make sense? I'm starting to draw a blank on the right words..."
"Yeah, I get it." Ryosuke chuckled but stopped as soon as he heard the rooftop door close. "Was someone here just now?"
"Uhh, I'm not sure..." Rio lied, knowing that it was probably Amu checking up on them. "Maybe someone came up but noticed we were here so they left?"
"Maybe." Ryosuke agreed before changing the subject. "Anyways, since tomorrow is Saturday, would you like to go to the amusement park with me? I personally don't like roller coasters much but my parents gave me two tickets for the both of us to spend time together. Why not put them to good use?" Ryosuke suggested.
"S-Sure" Rio agreed. "But don't expect a lunch box..."
Ryosuke stared at her in confusion and Rio pressed on, "If you ever see black flakes in the rice, those aren't seaweed scraps. They're ashes..."
Ryosuke chuckled. "Don't be so shy. My mom heard from your mother that your cooking is pretty good! And well, eventually I'd have to taste your skills. We're already engaged aren't we?"
"Y-yeah..." Rio nervously laughed.
This was going to be a disaster.

A few hours later, the sun had already begun to set and classes had officially ended for the day. Amu and Daiki were walking home in utter silence with their gazes set on opposite directions. Rio had already informed Amu about the situation tomorrow and Amu herself had volunteered to make the bento. She also had a plan to follow the two. However, this amusement park was limited to couples only and she needed someone to go with.
"Dai-chan.."
Daiki immediately stopped in his tracks and glanced at her. "Hmm?"
"Earlier today... About what happe-" she didn't get to finish her apology when he suddenly cut her short by his own reply.
"Don't worry about today. I'm sorry for overstepping"
"No, I did... I... was just feeling overwhelmed."
"I know." Daiki sighed. "Lets just forget about it..." He added, trailing his fingers between Amu's, gently pulling her to his side.
"Do you have any plans for tomorrow?"
Amu blinked several times, surprised by his quick topic change. Daiki obviously didn't want to talk about the troublesome situation anymore and hoped that he could finally spend some alone time with his girlfriend tomorrow.
Amu nodded her head and glanced back at him. "I was wondering if you would like to go with me to the amusement park tomorrow... You know.. The one for couples?"
Daiki stood with complete astonishment. Amu rarely asks him out- It was always him to took the iniative. "Of course I would. Any time, any place, you name it, and I'll be there."
Tomorrow, she will definitely tell him.

"RIO CHAN. WHERE ARE YOU?" Amu exclaimed through the phone.
Rio yawned and rotated her phone to her other ear. "I'm still in bed.. And why are you calling me so early.. It's..." She paused as she leaned to her rig
