Sorry I hadn't updated recently. I went to Tiffany's Lips on Lips concert in Chicago so I was preoccupied. 
Lemme just say, her stage presence is so powerful. And when she greeted Taeyeon on stage, I couldn't help but
feel my TaeNy heart leap for joy.

Taking a deep breath, Taeyeon stepped out of the car along with her father. She looked up at the large skyscraper that had large letterings of JTH on the corner of the 20-story building. She gulped.

“Ready kid?” her father smiled warmly.

Pulling herself together she flashed her dad a smile and nodded. “Ready,”

The two of them walked into the building side by side. Of course, the employees knew who Jaehyun was. He was the current CEO of the company and owner of such established conglomerate. As they walked passed the employees, they would bow in respect. However, they hadn’t seen Taeyeon in a while and were surprised to see her appearance. Whispers could be slightly heard, but they did not bat an eye towards them.

JTH Group was formally called K Group when Jaehyun’s father, Kim Sunghwan, had started his company. Starting with a small business in construction. As K Group was doing well, Sunghwan was investing in other smaller companies which later brought them further up the business ranks. However, Sunghwan didn’t play his cards right and nearly lost his business.

When Jaehyun took over his father’s company it wasn’t through good circumstances. Sunghwan had fallen ill and Jaehyun took over his father’s position. Jaehyun had just finished college and was newlywed when he took the CEO position. The board of directors were skeptical of his abilities especially with the company extremely close to bankruptcy. Surprisingly to them, Jaehyun was able to turn the business around and made a lot profit for K Group.

As the company climbed out of its debts, Jaehyun wanted to reform. Which led him to change the company name after his children. JTH Group was his biggest accomplishment, but his children Jiwoong, Taeyeon, and Hayeon were his pride and joy. It was only fair that his children too would one day run his company with him and for him.

The father and daughter duo walked through the gates and scanned themselves in using their fingerprints. They were the first company to use biometric security.

The two of them went to the elevators and Jaehyun pressed floor 20. The top floor is where their office was. It was a floor meant for not only the CEO, but top management offices were. As well as where the in-house lawyers were found.

It didn’t take them long to reach the top floor. When they walked out, there were eyes on them. Taeyeon couldn’t help but feel a little anxious, but she took a deep breath and walked on. The employees all bowed when they walked through to reach the office.

They entered the large office. There was a large wooden desk and a fancy leather chair at one end. On the wall was a family portrait of the five of them, something Jaehyun had put up for inspiration. Something he looked at when stress was too much for him.

Taeyeon’s father took a seat on the leather desk and looked through the piles of papers on his desk. While Taeyeon looked around in the room. It had book shelves and a seating area. The office was just as it looked like in her other reality world. But this office was a little less modern than the one she remembered. But she was just glad that the view of the city was still there to help relax her.

She took a step at the same exact location she stood in when she called Stephanie. A long sigh escaped her lips as she placed her hand against the window, she looked down and clenched her jaw. She wondered what Stephanie was doing now. Was she doing okay? How were the kids?

Biting her lower lip, she couldn’t help but think if her coming back to Korea was a good thing. Now that she was settled back, she was beginning to get flashbacks of memories of her other life. Taeyeon made sure to avoid the locations where she frequented with her family.

Despite going away to college and creating fresh memories there… Illinois was not definitely not home and was not the Korea she longed for. But Illinois will always be her gateway. A time in her life where she got to renew herself and forget about the pain that she left behind. Except, now that she is back… she’s unsure what to do.

“Taeyeon?” her father’s voice cut her thoughts. “Are you okay?”

She turned to her father who had a worried expression. Taeyeon showed a tight smile and nodded her head. “Yeah, sorry… I’m just… overwhelmed with a lot of things…”

“Do you think you’re not ready to take my position?” he asked sincerely raising an eyebrow and setting the file in his hand down. He got up and walked to stand beside his second born. He looked out the window with his hands clasped together behind him.

The petite woman looked out the window deep in thought. “I’m ready” she said sternly, possibly to convince herself.

“Taeyeon, as much as I want you to become CEO now that you’re back… You don’t have to force yourself if you’re not ready”

Taeyeon looked at her father with a questionable look. “N-No, I am ready… I just… There’s just a lot on my mind. Don’t worry, I will not let you down”

“Well my child… This office is now yours. You can change the furniture to your liking, but I’m taking that family portrait back to the house for my office there” he smiled patting his daughter on the shoulder.

“Thank you appa” she smiled
