COSMOSThe day went unexpectedly great for Changgu's liking, he even forgot about his injury except that when he started to have a headache at the end of the day around 8 pm, Hongseok noticed and he couldn't wait until Hui called the night off so he could take him home and ask him to take his pain killers, he was brave enough to come in the first place and all this work must have been hard for him, but he was having fun and smiling a lot and Hongseok's heart kept on fluttering again and again, something inside of him was tickiling whenever he saw the younger smile, he was the bravest person he has ever seen.
Finally their shift was over, Hui flipped the open sign to closed at exactly10pm, Hongseok walked Changgu out
"How's your head?" he asked whispering close to the boy, Changgu looked up at Hongseok flashing him a small smile and nodded "It's fine"
Hongseok got closer "I know about your headache, how bad is it?"
Hongseok tried to ask as gentle as he could not to make Changgu panic and to his surprise Changgu wasn't surprised at all "Not that bad" as if he expected Hongseok to already know.
Hongseok made it clear last time that he notices things other people couldn't, he's a doctor for a reason after all
"Okay I see" Hongseok stopped for a while making Changgu stop to face him as well
"Wanna go grab something to eat? I know a nice pizza place close by" and this what made Changgu confused, he didn't know how to reply "It's really close and I'll drive you home afterwards" it was his first time being asked to join someone for a meal, he wasn't so sure but he nodded nevertheless .
They walked for a bout 10 minutes, at first, it was an akward silence but Changgu was comfortable around Hongseok and it was something that Hongseok wasn't so sure about
"So about yesterday" Changgu suddenly said grabbing Hongseok's attention immediately "Thank you" Changgu continued "And sorry for causing you so much trouble"
Hongseok smiled and shook his head "Don't mention it, it's my job anyways and I just couldn't stand and watch when I figured out it was you"
Changgu smiled shyly "Thank you" he said again and Hongseok tapped Changgu's back reassuring him
"So, you're an intern doctor?" Changgu asked just trying to continue the conversation
"Yes" Hongseok answered
"You must have been so smart to get there so quick"
Hongseok laughed "I guess I'am, I skipped just too many classes"
Changgu nodded in understandment, it made sense
"Speaking of school" Hongseok said gaining Changgu's attention with a little worry on his face
"How are you doing? I mean is it going well?"
Changgu nodded "I'm the 3rd on top of my class, I'm good I guess"
Hongseok looked impressed "That's great, now that you told me I'm really proud of you"
Changgu avoided to look to Hongseok in the eyes, he's just not that good with eye contact but this time he did, something in Hongseok's words felt sincere, he was proud of him? for being the 3rd on top of his class? that's just ironic, if he only knew what was happening to him there, he won't be proud anymore, and that was another reason not to tell him anything, he flashed him a sad smile
"Thanks but ... it's just"
Changgu started but couldn't finish
"But what?" Hongseok was curious
"I'm not so sure about going to college"
Changgu confessed and Hongseok's face dropped, he remembered, the boy was living alone and he had no idea if he even had a family around, he saw where he was living but he di
