Krystal spent the rest of the day fuming. And she had no idea why.

Aiden is not your boyfriend. You have no right to be jealous she thought to herself, praying it was her own personal thoughts instead of the one linked to Aiden.

I am not jealous, Krystal assured herself

She thought about the name on Aiden’s phone. ‘Wendy’. Sounds like a y name. Aiden would never go for a girl like that.

Yep, totally not jealous

“What crawled up your and died?” Jieun asked, poking Krystal with her elbow in the ribs at lunch. “You’re sulking”

“It’s nothing” Krystal brushed off, resting her chin on her hand. “Not a big deal”

“Well it must be if it’s got you in a bad mood. C’mon, talk to the queen” Jieun said throwing an arm around Krystal’s shoulder.

Krystal sighed. “Is there anyone in school that goes by the name Wendy?”

Jieun blinked at her

“I thought this was girl problems”

“This is a girl problem”

Jieun thought for a minute. “Not that I know of, no”

Krystal groaned. Who was this Wendy that Aiden was texting?

“Why do you ask?”

“It’s nothing” Krystal shrugged

Jessica suddenly ran through the lunch room doors and slammed her hands down on the table

“Hey” she panted. “If I were to get arrested and gave you the money, would you come bail me out jail?”

“What?” Jieun and Krystal exclaimed at the same time.

“Sure” Tiffany shrugged, looking down at her phone screen. Jessica took a fistful of bills out of her pocket before ing them into Tiffany’s outstretched hands

“Thanks Tiff, expect a call tomorrow” Jessica said, running away

Jieun and Krystal exchanged a look before glancing at Tiffany, who was counting the money Jessica gave her
“I’ll get her” Krystal said, before rushing after her sister

“Why do you plan on getting arrested?” Krystal asked Jessica when she found her standing at her locker

“Yuri wants me to assist him in a task. It involves breaking and entering. I need to make sure someone was there in case I got caught” Jessica shrugged

“Um, what?”

“Something about the vampire house. The scent of werewolves is stronger than the scent of humans so they are going to cause an intercession”

“Intervention?”

“Yeah”

“Wouldn’t they be able to find humans? Does the smell of dog mask that?” Krystal asked

“Apparently”

“Damn… good to know”

“What is?” Aiden asked, walking up behind the two girls

“That your wet dog scent is stronger than the smell of my delicious human blood” Jessica said casually

“Geez.. I don’t smell that bad, do I?” Aiden asked, checking his underarms

“I mean to the supernatural yes” Jessica said. Aiden looked at her weirdly

“How do you know that?”

“Yuri”

“Of course” Aiden playfully rolled his eyes. “It’s better than smelling like death”

“Hey I just thought of something” Jessica said, holding up a finger. “So tonight is the night where we break into the vampire’s house, right? Why doesn’t Krystal come, because then if the vampires do smell humans, we can say it’s Soojung here instead of me”

“That’s a good idea” Aiden said. “Want to help us with a heist?”

“Uh, sure” Krystal nodded grinning slightly. “Why not?”

“Awesome” Aiden smiled. “We’re all meeting at 7 at our house”

“Great”

“Anyways” Aiden said, turning towards Krystal. “When do you want to work on the history project?”

“Um, I’m free tomorrow after practice or this weekend?”

“This weekend sounds fine” Aiden grinned. Krystal smiled

Jessica looked at the two, a silence falling over them

“Just kiss already!” Jessica finally blurted.

Krystal’s mouth hung open as she stared at her sister in disbelief, while Aiden’s cheeks and ears turned red.

“Uh, gotta go” Aiden mumbled. Turning to walk away.

“What the , Jess?” Krystal asked, angry.

“I mean it’s gonna happen eventually, right now you guys are at an awkward phase where you know you like each other but you’re doing nothing to act on it” Jessica shrugged

“Yeah, I mean, the pack and I have bets placed on when you two are going to get together” Yuri said, walking up behind Jessica. He threw his arm over the girl’s shoulder and kissed the side of her head.

“Aw, stop being cute,” Krystal said grinning at the two “it makes me sick”

Yuri playfully glared at Krystal. “Deal with it, mini ice princess”

“Mini ice princess? Who’s the original?”

“My Sica” Yuri wiggled his eyebrows at Jessica

Jessica glared at Yuri while blushing. “Yah, seobang”

“Yes, Sica~~” Yuri continued teasing

“Um, I’m still here you love birds” Krystal laughed 

Both Yuri and Jessica ended up blushing

The bell rang as the students began to pour out of classrooms. Krystal said goodbye to the couple before heading off to her next class.

“So by your logic, in the week Aiden was in HongKong, you think he met some girl named Wendy and they got together?” Jessica asked at practice.

Krystal looked up from stretching. “I mean, why else would the contact have a heart by it?”

“I dunno, as a joke”

“Maybe” Krystal grumbled

“You’re still gonna ask him to homecoming, right?”

“I’m not sure”

“It’s in two weeks” Jessica reminded her

“I’m aware” Krystal groaned. “You nervous about tonight?”

“No- ah, um, yea, no” Jessica said, her face distorting in different angles

“You sure about that?”

“I will be with Yuri, I have nothing to worry about”

“Awww” Krystal gushed. “That was so sickly sweet I’m gonna puke”

“Shut up” Jessica giggled

Aiden was in the kitchen making cupcakes with Sooyoung and Taeyeon when his phone rang. 

“Wendy!” Aiden smiled as he answered the FaceTime call.

“Hey llama!” Wendy waved, eating a rice cake.

“You dyed your hair red!”

“Yep! Because I love red velvet cupcakes” Wendy nodded, giggling 

“Is that the witch?” Sooyoung asked, smearing chocolate frosting on a cupcake

“Witch’s apprentice” Aiden said back

“Oooh, who you talking to, llama?” Wendy giggled

“That’s just Sooyoung” Aiden brushed off. “We’re making cupcakes”

“Anyways” Aiden said “any news on finding a way to stop the transformation?”

“Actually that’s why I called you. I found out when the Lunar Eclipse is”

“Really? That’s great!”

“I know right?!” Wendy smiled

Sooyoung, Taeyeon, and Aiden stared at the screen intently, waiting for the girl to speak. Wendy was playing with her hair.

“When is it?” Taeyeon asked after Wendy got distracted

“Oh, right. It’s on December 19th” Wendy said, dropping the strand of her hair

“Isn’t that the date of the annual Christmas masquerade ball?” Taeyeon asked. Aiden and Sooyoung nodded

Victoria and Yuri walked into the kitchen with the Jung twins who were dressed in all black. They looked like they were about to rob a bank.

“Hey, Jessica. Ready to kick vampire ?” Sooyoung asked, putting his fists up like he was about to fight

“She’s not gonna fight them, just look for any information to see if they know anything about the hybrid stuff” Yuri said

“Who’s that?” Wendy asked, not being able to see because she was in HongKong

“That’s my Beta and his mate, our witch, and um, Krystal. We’re planning on spying on the vampires who live in our area” Aiden informed. He didn’t know whether to call Krystal his mate or not, but he already informed Wendy on his situation

“Oh that sounds interesting!” Wendy said. There was a loud crash followed by a girl and boy yelling at each other on the other line

“Oops, that was Irene… I think my boyfriend might have broken something in her studio” Wendy said nervously. The shouts in the background were loud

“Wendy get your dumb boyfriend away from my work!”

“It was an accident!”

“Shut up, Park Sooyoung!”

“Gotta go, sorry” Wendy said sadly

“Bye, Wendy!” Aiden waved

“Bye, llama!” 

Krystal’s head snapped up. Wendy. This was the girl she is jealous of.

“Who was that?” she asked

“That was one of the witches I visited in HongKong. Her name is Wendy Son” Aiden said calmly. Krystal never thought someone could say ‘I met a witch’ so nonchalant

“So, are you ready?” Aiden asked the other twin. Jessica nodded.

“BoA is going to meet you at the cul de sac and sneak you in, while Taeyeon, Sooyoung, Yuri, Victoria, Lun, Hyoyeon, Krystal and I are going to try to distract the vampires who are home” Aiden said, going over the plan

“Your job is to try to sneak into Kang’s, I mean Jimin's office to see if there were any documents about the hybrid moon thing, while BoA stands watch” Sooyoung cut in

“Wait where’s Key, Jonghyun and Yoong?” Krystal asked

“Out” came the simple reply

“You’re gonna do great, Sica babe” Yuri beamed, hugging his girlfriend. Jessica blushed.

“Alright, let’s head out!” Aiden said. Lun, all excited, jumped a little bit. He was wearing one of Aiden’s snapbacks on his head backwards 

“We are really are in a gang now!” he said excitedly

“Sooyoung, stick by Lun, we don’t want him to wander off” Yuri chuckled. Sooyoung walked over and placed his arm around Lun’s shoulders. The height difference between the two was so great; it looked like a father dropping his son off for his first day of kindergarten.

“You nervous?” Aiden asked Krystal, walking beside her.

“Are they going to drink my blood?” Krystal asked nervously, playing with her hands

“What? Of course not. I won’t let them” Aiden comforted, nudging Krystal with his shoulders. Krystal blushed

The nine of them reached the landing where BoA was waiting. She tackled Taeyeon in a hug.

“I missed you guys! All of you get in here!” she called, squeezing everyone except the Jung twins in a group hug so tightly, the twins thought they were suffocating them.

“Hey Noona” Sooyoung said, patting her raven hair once she let the group go. Taeyeon waved and blushed. Aiden always thought Taeyeon had a small crush on the vampire.

“You dogs ready?” BoA asked. “Cause I’m putting my on the line for you”

“We’re ready. Jessica, you go with BoA-noona. We’ll meet you here in an hour” Aiden said

“Good luck, Sica-baby” Yuri said, hugging Jessica before kissing her.

“Alright let’s do this” BoA said, picking up Jessica in her arms before speeding away 

“Let’s move” Aiden ordered, walking down the trail towards the vampires lake house.

“Holy ” Krystal muttered as they stood in the driveway. She thought Aiden’s house was nice, then this place was like a ing palace. It looked like the house the Cullen’s live in Twilight. 

“Yeah I know what you’re thinking” Aiden said quietly. “It is a lot like Twilight”

“This place is incredible” Krystal said, eyes wide. Aiden took her hand and led her to the front door, thinking Krystal would have been too shocked to move herself.

The eight teenagers knocked on the door to the gigantic house. When the door opened, Krystal saw a girl went to her school.

“Hey, Chaerin. Can we come in? Oh, wait, I don’t have to ask because I’m not a polite bloodsucking demon” Yuri said, pushing past the girl.

“What’s up?” Sooyoung asked, ruffling Chaerin’s hair before walking towards Yuri. Chaerin let out a huff in annoyance while fixing her hair. The rest piled into the foyer of the house.

“What are you mutts doing here?” Chaerin spat. She sniffed the air, before focusing on Krystal

“Brought me a snack? How thoughtful” she her lips before stalking over towards Krystal.

Aiden stepped between the two of them.

“Step away” he said sternly. Chaerin chuckled.

“Threatening me, on my territory? You’re dumb”

“I don’t know if you noticed but right now you’re surrounded by seven out of ten of my pack… I think you’re the dumb one” Aiden gave a sinister smile.

Chaerin paled, noticing that the six werewolves had circled around her, each of them with a bloodthirsty look in their eyes. Victoria was standing next to Krystal who was still in shock over the house.

Sooyoung and Lun growled while Yuri and Hyoyeon their lips.Taeyeon cracked his knuckles while Aiden chuckled evilly.

“I always wondered what vampire flesh tastes like” Sooyoung said grinning

“I dunno, she probably tastes like ice, but let’s find out” Yuri said

“Permission to kill, Alphie?”

“Permission granted” Aiden smiled. The six of them moved in on Chaerin, fangs bared and claws out. She looked like she was about to pee her pants

We’re not actually gonna kill her, right? Lun asked.

Of course not, but let’s give her a scare Aiden answered

Hyoyeon, who was facing Chaerin, gave Aiden a small nod to signal he got the message. He took one of his claws and dragged it across Chaerin’s face, breaking skin.

“I heard decapitation is the best way to kill a vampire” Hyoyeon said grimly. He dragged his claw slowly around Chaerin’s neck, blood pouring out of the wound. Chaerin whimpered.

“Let’s see if that’s true-”

“Mr. Aiden!” a cheery voice said behind the pack. The six wolves stepped away from the vampire, who was cowering and shaking

“Hey, Jimin” he said coolly, acting like his pack members weren’t about to tear off his minions head.

“What a pleasant surprise! And you’ve brought friends! And a human!” Jimin clapped. Some of his henchmen complained about it smelling like dog. “Please, come in! What brings you to our neck of the woods?”

“Just strolling around” Yuri shrugged. “Thought we’d give you a housewarming gift”

“The human?” Jimin asked excitedly. Krystal’s eyes widened as Aiden and Victoria stepped in front of her protectively.

“Erm, no. This,” Yuri took a bottle out of his bag and threw it towards Jimin. With Yuri’s great aim and Jmin’s fast reflexes, it didn’t drop.

“Bokbunja Ju! Aw, just like back home. Thank you” Jmin smiled.

Jimin and his crew lead the pack into the living room where they all sat down.

“I would offer you food or something, but vampires don’t need to eat, so we don’t have any” Jimin chuckled

“That’s ok, we came to chat” Taeyeon said.

“Chaerin, Namjoon, Jisoo, get in here” Jimin called to his three cronies. They shuffled in slowly and sat down near their leader, eyeing the wolves suspiciously.

“Where’s the rest of your coven?” Aiden asked

“I let them run wild. They can go wherever” Jimin grinned

“You-you go to my school” Krystal said surprised to see Chaerin

“Char, right?”

“It’s Chaerin” she rolled her eyes

“That’s what I said”

“Where’s the missus’” Yuri asked

“Out” Chaerin grumbled

“Aw, if I were her I would also get tired of your ”

Krystal started to laugh, which was probably a bad thing since Chaerin was staring daggers at her. Normally, she would be terrified to be in a house with a bunch of bloodthirsty vampires, but sitting next to Aiden, she didn’t seem so scared.

“Okay, you wait here while I check if anyone is coming” BoA said to Jessica.

“I’m hanging onto the ledge of this window sill!” Jessica exclaimed, feet dangling at least fifteen feet off the ground.

“You’ll be fine” BoA said before disappearing

“Wait, but-” Jessica started, before realizing that she was talking to herself. The crisp autumn wind made her shiver, and the dull ache in her arms started to increase.

This was a bad idea to help Yuri. if her fingers were to slip, she would plummet to her death, and that was not a good way to start off the week.

Jessica hung there, contemplating life, and questioning that if she fell if she could survive. She would probably fracture her spine and possibly her leg but there was a slight chance of survival

Hopefully.

BoA returned to the window

“Okay there are people inside so you have to hang tight for a minute”

“My arms feel like they’re gonna fall off”

“Great, hold on” 

“BoA!” someone called from inside

“What?” she answered

“Some wolf pups are here, Jimin wants us to all… ‘bond’” the guy said last word as if it was repulsive.

“I’ll pass” she called back. BoA ran to check if anyone was out of the hallway before helping Jessica up. When she was inside, Jessica collapsed on the ground.

“You okay, kid?” BoA asked

“My arms feel like Jell-O”

“Excellent, there’s Jimin slash Daniel’s office, I’ll stand right here in case you need me” BoA said before she shoved Jessica into a dark room

“What am I looking for?” Jessica asked

“Files, documents, pictures… anything that links my coven to the killings” BoA said through the doors. “There should be a file cabinet somewhere”

Jessica turned the light on to see a posh office, covered in a thin layer of dust.

“Why is everything so dusty?” Jessica asked BoA

“You know… come to think of it I think Daniel was the last one to use this office. I don’t think Jimin even touched this space” BoA said

Jessica walked over to the file cabinet that sat in the corner next to the desk.

Police reports. Blood types. Covens. HanBin.

Those were the names on each cabinet. Jessica opened the one that said HanBin, seeing that this one was the oddest out of all of them.

Jessica scanned over each manila folder. They just had a bunch of names and locations on them… except for the file that said drys hib which was just a weird anagram for hybrids.

Jessica swiped that folder before knocking on the door. BoA swiftly opened it and opened it and scooped Jessica into her arms before speeding away to Soshi point.

She hoped she didn’t up

After getting a few drinks in Jimin, he was a blubbering mess.

“An-and then,” he hiccupped “when I g-got to the hut… th-they told me that the only thing they had left were carrots. CARROTS”

The rest of the group was sober, and uncomfortable.

“So… maybe we should leave” Aiden suggested. Namjoon nodded.

“Yeah… if you don’t leave now he’ll tell you about how they shut down a Churros shop near his old home” he said

“An’ don’t get me started on the Churros disaster of ‘08!” Jimin sobbed

“Leave” Namjoon said. “Leave now”

The eight teens hurriedly got up and left the house, hoping they gave Jessica enough time.

“That was… weird” Krystal admitted. Aiden laughed.

“Yeah… they’re an interesting bunch” he grinned

“Are there any other vampires in our school besides Chaerin?”

“That’s really not my place to say” Aiden said quietly

“Oh come on, you can tell me” Krystal nudged. She gave Aiden a puppy pout

“Please?” she started to use aegyo

“Ugh fine” Aiden groaned. “Park Sandara is one, but it’s only her and Chaerin”

“Cheerleader Dara? The one on my squad?”

“Yep”

“Jeez, no wonder she’s a ”

“Tell me about it”

The teens saw Jessica and BoA waiting for them at the cul de sac. Jessica was holding a manila envelope.

“Is that it?” Hyoyeon asked.

“It’s a folder with a poorly anagrammed ‘hybrid’ so I think so” Jessica shrugged. Yuri have her a hug

“That’s my girl, stealing from the big mean bloodsuckers” he smiled

“Um, excuse me I’m standing right here” BoA rolled her eyes playfully

“Well you’re an exception” Yuri grinned

Changmin suddenly ran up to the group, out of breath. Aiden saw the distress on his face.

“Let me guess,” Aiden groaned “another body?”

Changmin nodded. “So that makes four hybrids”
