Chapter 5 - New Friends
Two Halves Of One Whole
Yoohyeon POV
“Y-Yoohyeon”
“Wake up Yoohyeon”
“Yoohyeon wake up” a pair of hands shook me, I open my eyes slowly to be greeted by my mothers worry face.
“What happen” I asked
“You fell asleep waiting for that ghost or something” my mother told me
“Oh did I” I said and started to look around, thank god, wait is Jiu still not back. I got up and checked the time, it was 11:00pm. I went to the kitchen to get some food wondering if Jiu will ever come back. Just as I finished placing my food on the table a voice scared my soul out of me.
“Yoohyeon I’m so hungry” Jiu said clinging onto my back like nothing happed.
“Where were you” I asked angrily
“What do you mean” she asked back looking confused
“You disappeared for hours” I said
“R-really, I don’t know I woke up at your front door I don’t know what happened” she said, I can hear how unease’s her voice is.
“It’s ok eat” I place what was meant to be my food down on the table
“Y-you eat I’m not hungry anymore” she said
“Jiu please eat, what ever happened could have taken a lot of strength and energy out of you, you look pale if that’s possible” I said, just then I remember what grandma told me. Jiu nodded and was about to take a bite but I stopped her.
“Wait one moment” I said and ran up to my room grabbing the bottle that grandma gave me. I went back to Jiu and pour what was left of what was in the bottle onto the dish.
“What’s this” she asked
“Grandma told me to make you eat this” I told her, I look as she took a bit out of the dish.
“Ew why is it so bitter” she said “water I needed water” she said and ran and got a glass of water. I looked at her as all of a sudden there was this purple light glowing from her.
I walked with her quietly to grandmas room to see if she is still awake, I quietly knocked on the door.
“Grandma are you awake” I asked quietly, no response. I decided to wait until morning. Me and Jiu got in bed, Jiu has been oddly quiet this whole time.
“Jiu you can tell me what’s wrong” I said softly
“It’s just I feel like a burden to you, I mean you could be doing more productive thing then find out about a strangers accident” she said
“Jiu listen to me, we are friends now, don’t say that, it was my choice if I want to help you so don’t you say that” I said
“Thank you Yoohyeon, I really mean it” Jiu smiled
————————————————————————
-Morning-
I woke up to something shuffle next to me, i opened my eyes and was greeted by Jiu face inches away from mine. Suddenly her arm swung over my side and onto my back, she hugged me tight and pushed her face closer, I can feel her breath on my face. My face is warming up, I have never been so close to someone’s face like this.
“YOOHYEON WAKE UP, YOU NEED TO START PACKING” I heard my mother yell. Jiu’s eye flung open, our eyes met and I can clearly see her face turn crimson red.
“G-good morning” she said moving her face away. We both got up, awkwardness filled the room.
“Sorry I-Er I didn’t- I” she tried apologising
“N-no you were sleeping- Er I’m going to go and take a shower” I Excused myself
After I was done Jiu and I went to look for my grandma, I noticed the purple light coming from her last night was fading away a little.
“Grandma Jiu drank the thing you gave me, what now” I asked Grandma once we found her
“Ohhh what light did you see” she asked back, Jiu looked at me confused
“I saw Purple” I told her “but the purple is fading away”
“Oh that’s good, that means she has a lot of time left” Grandma smiled. Both Jiu and I sighed in relief, we ate breakfast and I went to my room to pack my bags since I was going to return to my apartment, school is starting in 2 days.
“Yoohyeon can you come and help me with something” Grandma knocked on the door
“Ask Jiu If you want to come” she added, I look at Jiu and she shook her head.
“I’m going to stay here”
I walked with my grandma to her room
“Yoohyeon I lied, this is bad Jiu doesn’t have much time left” Grandma said, my heart sank
“But- I- We just met I don’t know what to do” I panicked
“Yoohyeon you somehow have a connection with her, sometimes you might see stuff that has happed to her when she was alive” grandma told me
“How long dose she have left” I asked
“You said that it was purple and fading, so I think around 4 months left” Grandma informed me.
“4 MONTHS” I yelled in shock
“Yoohyeon you must not let her know how long she has left, if you knows I’m afraid that her motivation to find out what happened to her will fade and she will
