It's been a week since the rapper went home to her parents' house and Yongsun hadn't heard anything from her. She knows she should make the first move and contact Byul but she hasn't. The singer let out a sigh and focused her attention on the director. 

They were on their way to a small villa for their next shoot. Eric Nam's a nice guy and a gentleman, giving her space when he sees that the singer needs it and she's grateful for it. He's also been trying to cheer her up for the whole day but not being able to talk to Byul for more than a week is taking its toll on her and no matter how hard she tries her smile never seem to reach her eyes and it's showing. 

"Yongsun you okay?"

"Yeah I'm good."

"Alright, let's go then."

The shoot was easy enough, all they had to do was walk towards their little hotel and relax by the pool after their trip to the folk village. Everything was going smoothly until they saw a banner with their names on it at the entrance of the pool area. Yongsun had a nagging feeling in her stomach which made her think back that Mamamoo would be appearing as guests in the show.

Is this the episode they're supposed to come? 

Her suspicions were confirmed when she saw three familiar girls lounging by the poolside pretending to sleep. Yongsun's eyes feel on the one wearing a blue shirt at the far right.

Byul-ah. She's here!

At first glance it looked like the girl was just relaxing on the chair but Yongsun could see how tense the rapper was even at a distance. She was rooted to her spot and couldn't think of what to do next. She wanted to hug the rapper so bad but she doesn't know how the other girl would react and besides there were still cameras all around them, she doesn't want to cause a scene.

"It's so hot here! What took you so long?" 

She was brought out of her musing when she heard Moonbyul shout. Yongsun immediately went to meet up with her members but her eyes were still fixed on her best friend, wondering how they got her to agree to do this shoot. 

As she was about to meet them at the poolside she felt familiar arms wrap around her and lifted her up. She couldn't help but feel elated by the warmth the rapper gave off. 

God how I've missed you Byul.

Yongsun was about to hug her hamster back, trying to convey how she missed her when the younger girl let her go abruptly causing the singer to frown a bit. All she wanted to do was drag Byul away from the cameras so they could talk but she knows that option is out of the picture for now.

She could see Eric was surprised at the sudden guests but she didn't care. They all went inside the room and Yongsun was taken aback by the decorations inside. There were balloons and all sorts of party favors hanging all around the room and she couldn't help but laugh at the idea that they all went to this kind of trouble just to support her.

Byul agreed to do all this? 

She turned to face Byul but found the girl looking away from her. The rapper still had a smile on her face but it didn't seem to reach her eyes, not to mention Yongsun realized that the younger girl hadn't met her eyes this whole time. 

It went on like that all throughout the shoot. Yongsun would desperately try to make eye contact but Byul would either look away or would pretend to do something else. It wasn't until the time when she was about to receive a kiss on the cheek from Eric that she saw Byul stiffen again.

It was already awkward enough that she had to do it in front of so many people but the fact that Byul was also watching made the leader feel a pang in her heart. She closed her eyes and waited for the inevitable to happen and when it ended she immediately opened her eyes and looked towards the rapper. 

The girl still had a smile on her face but Yongsun could see that it was fake and looking at her members, she knew they knew as well. It was getting harder not to act on impulse and comfort her best friend but they were still on camera so there was really nothing she could do. 

When the time came for her members to leave she wanted to go with them. She even tried to ask the director if she could go but the "couple" still had to finish filming and so the three girls left without Yongsun getting the chance to talk to Byul.

They finished filming for the day around 8:00 in the evening and Yongsun hurriedly made a run towards their van. She immediately told her manager to drive her to Byul's place which the later agreed right away. The singer opened her phone and went directly to her messenger, checking if she somehow missed a text from the rapper but there were none.

Please answer me

She waited with bated breath for any sign that the younger girl had seen her messages but nothing.

I'm coming over to your place

Manager unnie is driving me over now

She knew she really messed things up with her best friend. Yes, they fought before but Byul never ignored her for this long specially if she was the one reaching out to her first. 

Yongdunnie 💕

I know your mad but I just wanna talk

Byul-ah?

I'm almost there, please just talk to me

Yongsun lost hope of getting a reply from the rapper when she heard her phone ding, indicating that she received a message. She hurriedly opened it and was relieved to see Byulyi's name flashing across the screen.

I'm too tired now unnie

Whatever it is, it can wait 'til morning

Go home

That last one hurt Yongsun the most. This was the first time Byul turned her down and it was physically hurting her. She didn't know why but reading it made her more determined to make peace with the young rapper. She knew that their argument had gone for long enough and Yongsun wouldn't let another night pass by without them sorting things out. With a new found resolve she typed away on her phone.

This can't wait, Byul-ah 

If you don't want to face me, I'll understand

But I'm still coming over. Even if I have to stand outside your door all night I'll do it

"Yong?" Her attention was taken away from her phone when she heard her manager calling for her, "We're almost at Byul's. Do you want me to wait for you so I can drive you home?" 

Looking back at her phone and seeing it lifeless she turned her attention back to her manager and gave her a smile. 

"No thanks unnie. I'll be staying at Byul's tonight."

I just hope she'll at least let me inside.

They continued the drive in relative silence. Yongsun still clutching her phone, hoping to get anything from her friend. She could already see the apartment building and was thinking of ways to stay warm in the cold night or how to convince Byul to at least let her inside her apartment when she finally got the response she was waiting for.

But I really want to go to sleep now so no talking.

The van wasn't even at full stop when Yongsun jumped out of it causing her manager to yell at her. She just gave her a wave goodbye and continued running towards the building where her friend is. She knows how stubborn the younger girl is, it was one of the reasons why they would sometimes have arguments but she also knows that she has a soft spot when it comes to her and right now that's all Yongsun's counting on.

She managed to reach Byul's floor in record time and she was still trying to catch her breath from running but the singer wasted no time and knocked on the door. She waited for a few minutes and was about to knock again when it swung open revealing her best friend's face.
