Call it her fatal flaw but she absolutely, completely cannot bear the thought of someone so much as disliking her. It bugs her on a visceral level and keeps bugging her until the person changes their opinion or goes away, preferably the former.

Yes, she’s a people pleaser. No, her self-esteem does not depend on their approval. She’s a strong independent woman who doesn’t need validation from people approving of her…

Or at least, that’s what she tries to tell herself the next time Sehun ignores her completely in favor of joking around with their other friends.

It’s difficult to convince herself though, when she’s literally the only one he doesn’t play with.

Which baffles her more than anything because she’s likeable.

No, that’s not just her opinion, it’s a fact. She’s about as friendly as Baekhyun and the guy walks around to get close to his friends.

And yes, she’d been the one to suggest it in the first place because friends who plan to get together, stay together. But that’s beside the point.

The point is, Oh Sehun hates her. And she cannot bear it.

‘He doesn’t hate you…’ Xiao muttered, obviously not listening to her rant. May rolled her eyes and grabbed her phone, pulling it out of reach.

‘I was,’ Xiao insisted, grabbing for her phone. ‘I think you’re overreacting.’

May shook her head. She had evidence which she would present if her friend put her phone away for one freaking second and actually paid attention to her.

‘Ugh, so what if he doesn’t like you? Everybody else does, just ignore him!’

See, this was exactly why she didn’t discuss this particular issue with anyone – they didn’t get it!

The reason everyone liked her was – after her great personality and amazing sense of humor, of course – because she made sure of it. She had great social skills – and no, it wasn’t boasting if it was true – and was very good at taking cues from the person she interacted with, which invariably meant that she always knew what to do to be friends with someone.

No, she didn’t live to please people. She just didn’t like the thought of someone hating her; that was so… negative and it messed up her vibe. So, no, she would not tolerate it.

‘I’m going to confront him,’ she declared assertively. Yes, that’s exactly what she would do. She would march right up to his too tall self and poke that too broad chest of his and demand some answers. Like why the hell did he hate her? Who did he think he was, getting away with that when she’d done nothing to warrant such treatment?

Xiao eyed her from over the top of her sunglasses, just a tiny bit concerned. May, well-meaning and friendly as she was, could be a bit impulsive and frankly intimidating at times.

She even opened to say something but then this amazing picture of Luhan caught her eye and opened wider, a squeal emerging. All advice pertaining to May’s mistaken conviction of Sehun’s hatred was forgotten in the ensuing perusal.
