It is a travesty when two hearts, at different intervals in life, found each other, and although they would perfect for each other, they can’t be together, for the timing isn’t right, for the rejection, for the beautiful, sad reality..

JooHyun woke up at the luxurious hotel bed, her thin night gown hug her petite figure. The white city and ambient winter morning make her smile, while the angel that asleep beside her. Her calm face made JooHyun relaxed, the young girl open her eyes and searching for JooHyun’s. They share a mysterious stare and smile, JooHyun leaned to the young girl and kissed her temple.

“Morning..”JooHyun said, the young girl closed her eyes and smile, she’s playing with JooHyun black hair,

“Morning..” the girl said, blushed when she saw JooHyun’s milky skin through her night gown,

“Wan-ah..” JooHyun called, the young girl look up and find JooHyun warm gaze,

“Hm?” Wendy hummed,

“I love you..” JooHyun whisper through Wendy’s ear, made the young girl body shiver at how deep, sincere, and exciting it sound. Wendy laugh and cupped JooHyun face, give the older girl peck at her sweet lips,

“You know.. I’m scared..” JooHyun said, Wendy doesn’t like the corversation and groaned,

“You scare me..” JooHyun said before Wendy could said anything, the young girl lift her eyebrow,

“Why?” Wendy asked, she’s curious and scared too, but her curiosity is greater than her fear,

“Because I tell you things.. that I even can’t tell myself. I did things that I try to avoid, that I’m scared of how powerful your impact on me..” JooHyun said, kissed the girl,

“That you have control all over me, and I can’t help it.” JooHyun whisper,

“Is that a bad thing?” Wendy asked, sadness is in her voice,

“Yes and No” JooHyun said, made the young girl laugh,

“Yes because I’ll lose control of myself, act without thinking, and do something I will regret later. It made me look weak and unstable.. Also it’s a No because,, it made me realized how much I love you, that everything in me is on your hands, and that’s all I need.” JooHyun said, her soft voice made Wendy mind blank, her heart beating so fast, and her happiness overflowing,

“And yet, you rejected me last night, until I beg you..” Wendy said,

“Oh well, can’t help it. I like to see you beg” JooHyun said, show her nasty smirk, but there’s a hint of sadness in her eyes, still thinking that this is temporary,

“Seriously? You are the worst..” Wendy laugh, she feel her adrenaline pumped because of JooHyun words,

“Anyway, happy new year, I will take a bath first..” JooHyun said, releasing herself from the only sanctuary in this world, her home, Wendy’s arms..

“Glad you did it, morning breath ” Wendy said, laughing at JooHyun who smirking,

“But you like it” JooHyun said, while bend down and capturing Wendy’s lips. The young girl giggle between the kiss as JooHyun bite her lower lips,

“How long will you stay?” Wendy asked after they broke the kiss,

“Until tomorrow, my father must be looking for me now” JooHyun said, a soft huff escape Wendy’s lips,

“So fast” Wendy said, JooHyun laugh and pinch the young girl cheek,

“Sorry love..” JooHyun whisper,

They spent their new year together as a lover, not a friend anymore. Wendy bring JooHyun to her favorite places, had lunch, and dinner together, but this time as  a lover. Wendy wear JooHyun black sweater since she didn’t bring any clothes, and the sweater smells like JooHyun, she like it. As the night come faster than they expect, JooHyun walk Wendy to her home, holding hands. They walk slower than usual, don’t want the moment to end. Wendy insist to accompany JooHyun to airport but the older girl refuse, she told Wendy that her flight was in morning and it’s fine. As they reached Wendy home, neither of them want to let go, until JooHyun did it first and bid the girl goodbye, also waited for Wendy until she enter her house, then walk back to her hotel.

As the morning came, JooHyun is waiting at the airport waiting room while talking with Wendy through phone. The young girl told her that she got scolded by her father because she turned off her phone for entire day, and then they talk casually until JooHyun had to fly back to Japan. She saved the video Wendy sent her, a video of the young girl telling her that she love her and miss her already. JooHyun smile at her seat looking at the video, a genuine one.

The time she landed at Japan, her mind focused to work again, and she work harder than before. As the weeks passed, their bond strenghten, as well as their love. The time is came for JooHyun to fly back to Korea, finally she could rest from the tension from work. Her day went as usual, waking up, went work out, cooking, reading book, did her assignment, and many more while she wait for her loved one to came back.

Weeks passed and tomorow Wendy will fly back to Korea, she’s happy to meet JooHyun but also sad because she have to leave her family. At the afternoon, Wendy walk around the town while thinking about JooHyun souvenirs,

‘what should I bought for unnie? She like taking pictures, a camera? Nope.., I guess she like LP records? She probably had plenty..., Ugh..’ Wendy thought, ruffle her hair frustated. Something catch the young girl attention, she walk to the small accesories shop and take a look inside. As she walk around the shopkeeper call her,

“Hey miss, do you need any help?” The girl asked her politely,

“Yeah, kind of..” Wendy said, smiling at the girl,

“Do you need it for yourself or a gift?” The girl asked, while walking around with Wendy,

“As gift..” Wendy said,

“Very well, may you tell me about her preference?” The girl asked,

“She like simple things, elegant, but light. She hate to wear accesories that make her  stand out, but she like it if people notice” Wendy said,

“She must be a very unique girl..” The girl said and smiling,

“Yes she is very peculiar, unique, and crazy.. She’s cold but warm, she’s the most beautiful girl I ever meet” Wendy said, smile at the memories of JooHyun inside her head,

“She must be really important to you.. Also hearing you information, what about a bracelet?” The girl asked, while she take an rose gold bracelet, it’s really thin, almost unseen by Wendy eyes. In the middle, there’s a round complex knot,

“This is our newest product, Eternity. The knot in the middle is Love Knot, a Celtic symbol of eternal love. It represents eternal love because it has no beginning or end. The creator hope that the one who received this will always love his/her loved one forever, under any circumstances..” The girl said,

“I’ll take it..” Wendy said before the girl finished her talk, she smile and they continue to the payment. Wendy walk out of the store and smiling, she take it because JooHyun might like it, she also hope that, even after they are separate, JooHyun will remember her, even just a tiny bit of her. Wendy walk to the bookstore and take a look,

“Wendy??” Someone called her,

“Eric?” Wendy said, surprised by the boy who reading a book beside her,

“Wow.. you look more.. beautiful..” Eric said, closed his book. Wendy show her awkward smile,

“Thanks,, but no.. I’m still plain like always..” Wendy said, she hate how he compliment her, she hate him. Wendy try to get out of this conversation, but the boy shake her head,

“No, you become more stunning, like you are brighter..” Eric said, smiling at the girl,

“Stop it, you are so cheesy.. By the way, how are you?” Wendy asked, Eric is a good boy, caring, and really bright, if she’s a normal girl, she will fall for him, but no, she like someone dark and mysterious like JooHyun.. Yes, she loves her dark side, their secret relationship, she like it.

“I’m great, still busy with collage but everything is good, how about you? How’s Korea?” Eric asked, they walk to the empty seat at the book store,

“Oh, I’m good, Korea is pretty nice too. You should come sometimes” Wendy said,

“I will one day, hahaha. How’s your parents?” Eric asked,

“They are doing great, thank you.. and yours?” Wendy said, she know the boy from their family meeting, and their condition isn’t this awkward before, mostly Wendy who feel awkward, she know Eric like her since their first meeting,

“They keep asking me about you, about the engagement..” Eric said, Wendy feel her her blood boil hearing the words,

“I already talk to my parents before I came to Korea, we are not Eric, we will never be..” Wendy said, try to calm herself, the boy smile fanish from his face. Wendy shocked at the face her friend made, it’s the first time she saw him like this,

“Why? You told me that you need to focus on your study, so I let you go.. Should I remind you SeungWan? The engagement cannot be cancelled.. Your father agree with this, and you will too..” Eric said, his soft eyes now burning with anger, it make Wendy scared, she’s scared of him.

“Oh yes we still can cancelled it Eric, what’s wrong with you?! You are not he Eric I know!” Wendy said, she can’t believe what the boy had said, he threathen her.. Wendy get up and ready to go, but Eric grab her hand and force her to face him. His eyes is full of anger, jealousy, and lust, yes lust.. Wendy face become pale,

“Because I know someone are taking you away from me.. and what’s I want, I get..” Eric said, getting closer to Wendy, the girl try to release from his grip but it’s too tight, even hurt her. She’s still shocked about Eric behaviour,

“H-how did you know?” Wendy said shocked, Eric smirking at the girl,

“I know Wendy, I know.. If that Bae still disturb you, I will make her suffer.. No one can touch what’s mine.” Eric said, his face getting close, Wendy try to step back but Eric hold her tightly,

“No! since the beginning I’m not with you, stop thinking that I’m yours Eric, I already rejected you long ago!! You are crazy!” Wendy said, shouting at him, hoping that someone will heard her.

 “I know you will go back to Korea tomorrow..” Eric said, forcing Wendy to kiss him until the shopkeeper come, he immediately release Wendy and smile at him, suddenly Wendy phone buzzed, the girl take this chance to run away. She run until she think it’s far enough and try to breath, her hands shaking, she’s scared, ‘what’s wrong with him?’ Wendy thought, her phone still buzzed, she took it, Wendy picked up her phone and her mom told her to go home, they are going out for dinner. Wendy went home with pale face, she tried to calm herself as she took a bath and getting ready, she wear her black short dress, and a high heels. She take a picture of herself and send it to JooHyun,

 ‘It’s going to be alright Wendy.. He’s just too stressed, and obsessed, it’s not new. You know he’s tailing you everywhere when you are here.. it’s not new..’ Wendy thought, but the event before still make her uneasy, the angelic boy she show this time is changed into a monster, and how did he know about their secret relationship made her more stressed, ‘He’s stalking me..’ Wendy realized the situation, it made her shiver thinking someone had been watching her, she hug herself in horror. Not waiting too long, Wendy received a reply, her fear fanished when she saw JooHyun text,

From Rabbit :
I’m speechless..
You are so beautiful, I don’t know what to say.. Can I just kidnap you?
Anyway, enjoy your time with your family okay? Text me later
You know I miss you so much, also I will pick you up tomorrow at the airport
Love you..

Wendy smile and replied Ok to the older girl, she’s smiling at the text when her mother enter the room, looking at her baby that smiling like an idiot with sligh blush on her cheeks,

“Looks like something exciting happen here” Her mother said, smiling at the girl,

“Um.. nothing much..” Wendy said, lock her phone and put it on the bag,

“Oh, I know it dear, love is in the air..” Her mother said, Wendy panicked, she hope that monster didn’t tell her mother yet,

“N-no mom!” Wendy said, her mother laugh. Wendy still thinking about what happen before, but tried her best to hide it from her mother, she doesn’t want her to worried,

“Who is this lucky guy that melted our little Wendy frozen heart?” Her mother said, Wendy face blushed so hard, ‘it’s a girl mom’ she tought sadly,

“Oh dear, at least tell me something, just a tiny hint..” her mother said, knowing Wendy wouldn’t spill any information,

“No mom! Let’s go we already late” Wendy said, avoiding the topic, she know her mother know if she’s lying or not. Her mother sigh and grumble ‘fine’, then they went to  a fancy restaurant and eat dinner, her mom keep looking at Wendy and it make her nervous. After a few hours spending time together, they went back home, Wendy run to her room and changed, she can’t risk to be interogated by her mother. When she finished changed, she texting with JooHyun until someone knock her door,

‘great’ Wendy thought and open her door, she found her mother smile and bring a tray of snack and hot milk tea. Wendy let her mother enter and  put the tray at Wendy’s desk, she sit at the bed and told Wendy to sit beside her,

“Dear, you know I love you right?” Her mother asked Wendy, patting her hands gently,

“Yes mom, and I love you too” Wendy said smiling,

“I realized today that you are a grown up lady, a beautiful one too, but in mine and your father eyes,  you are still our beloved baby girl, always..” Her mother said lovingly,

“I know you are in love just by looking at your eyes, the moment when you went out after family dinner at new year eve, or when you came back at the next night, also this evening, I know you are in love dear,,” Her mother said,

“Am I that obvious?” Wendy asked, smiling at her mother,

“No dear, it’s what you called mother instinct..” her mother said, they both laugh at it,

“So.. I know you won’t tell me about this lucky person, but I want you to know dear, I will always support you, as long you are happy with it..” her mother said, Wendy smile but there’s a tiny sadness it her eyes and her mother noticed it,

“If I’m ready,, if I think it’s the right time, I will told you everything mom, please..” Wendy said, not wanting to lie to her mother. Her mother noded and get up, pat Wendy head,

“Alright dear,, Good night dear, love you” her mother said, kissed her crown and get out of the room. Wendy sigh, her feeling is mixed up. Her eyelids become heavy, and slowly enter the dreamland, but this time, it’s a nightmare, about the monster that try to hurt her and JooHyun, she’s scared.

As the morning come, she’s ready for her flight. Her family went to a restaurant for brunch and talk about some things, then they drop Wendy at the airport, bid her goodbye with hug. Wendy still feeling that someone following her because of Eric, she’s insecure about anything.

After a few hours, Wendy finally arrived at Incheon, she walk outside after waiting her baggage and find JooHyun waiting for her. The older girl wear her cream sweater with a plaid grey coat, along with black pants and white sneakers, didn’t forget round glasses. She smile at the young girl and waving with both her hands. Wendy laugh at how adorable the girl, she run slightly to approach the older girl with overflowing feeling, she release her baggae let the poor bag drop at floor, and hug her lover. Her fear, worries, and anxiety gone in a flash whe their body touched. Wendy hug JooHyun like she holding onto her dear life, she missed her so much that it hurts. JooHyun smile and hug her back, letting their body feel each other warmth, not wanting to let go. After a few minutes, they laugh and break the hug, they went to JooHyun car while holding hands.

“How was your flight?” JooHyun asked, Wendy smile and look at the white scenery,

“I’m just re-read our message, and the flight was pretty pleasant.. Why you look thinner? Did you even ate?” Wendy said, she could see that the girl is stressed and her weight drop. JooHyun laugh and shake her head,

“I’m fine, and yes I eat regularly..” JooHyun said, still holding Wendy’s hand while driving. Wendy smile and sigh, she feel so secure with JooHyun, she like it.

“Something bothering you Wan?” JooHyun asked, worried written all over her face,

“It’s..” Wendy paused, she can’t make JooHyun more stressed, she don’t want to,

“It’s fine.” She said, smiling at the girl, JooHyun still suspicious but decided to let it go, she will ask the girl later, she must be tired.

“Okay..” JooHyun said, smile back, she kiss Wendy hand and the drive went with silence, a comfortable silence, only the soft melody Ed Sheeran’s Perfect song fill the air. Wendy like it, the time she’s with JooHyun, at her car, listening to JooHyun playlist while holding hands, she want to be like this forever. Slowly her eyes become heavy, the comfortable and ambient atmosphere her tired and scared mind, JooHyun presence shooting her soul, and the music are become lullaby. She drifted to dreamland, with her hand at JooHyun’s, feelig her warmth and protection that she need right now.

Wendy slowly wake up, realized that she’s still at JooHyun car that parked in front of the dorm. She look at JooHyun who typing at her phone, but still holding her hand, not realized the girl already awake. Wendy look at the older girl, examining her face, capturing the older girl perfect profile, everything feel so dreamy for Wendy, she feel the time is stop but also run faster. JooHyun put her phone down and look at Wendy, capturing the young girl lovely stare,

“You really like to staring do you?” JooHyun laugh, the young girl smile,

“Only at you..” Wendy said, she release her hand from JooHyun’s and unbuckle her seat belt,

“Do you want to come in?” Wendy asked, JooHyun smile,

“Is Seulgi okay with that?” JooHyun asked,

“Oh right.. She’s already at dorm.. but I bet she doesn’t mind, she like you anyway, both of you always talking about photography and forget about me” Wendy said, forgetting that her dorm mate already back. JooHyun laugh and ruffle Wendy’s hair,

“Ah.. You are right, I promised her to show some of my result.. I miss the cute bear now..” JooHyun smile, the words make Wendy a bit jealous, even she know that JooHyu
