People change but photographs do not.
Foreword
Some say that photographs capture the millisecond of time.
I agree. It captures a rarity of someone. It capture moments where smiles will never fade. It captures the art of life that people try to seek. It captures the stars, the sky and scenery. It captures feelings and most of all it captures the purity and reality. I love photographs or should I say the things or people I captured. I love them. Photos speak without words but actions. It will never lie nor fade. When you capture it in that millisecond, it will forever be like that. People change but photographs do not.
But what do I really love the most? It is when I capture hands and eyes. I choose the hands because they are never the same with others. They have their own designs, softness, roughness and warmth or even coldness. I love the way hands move, the way it holds something. The way it protects someone and the way it can hold you for a long time without being literal. Eyes are different. They speak without words. I love to capture eyes because simply, they are the soul of a person. I want a deeper definition of photographs and with that, I have to capture their soul.
I know that eyes will never lie. I knew because I read through his eyes.
I don’t need photographs to capture how deeply he’s in love with me. I knew the moment he looked at me that we look at each other the same way. He looks at me with his twinkly eyes and showed me how sincere he is, I knew that moment I’m loved. He looks at me and then he offered his hand and he asked my name. I knew the moment he held my hand that day that I will surely miss its warmth the moment he will let go… but he did not. I don’t need to capture that moment because it is meant to be felt and that moment I felt his warmth. That is the only time in my life that I do not need photographs because I believe that it doesn’t need to be captured to stay the way he looks at me and holds my hand forever.
But I’m wrong.
People change, photographs do not.
