Apologies

After school, Wendy was forced to be near Taeil again. Her anger had subsided a bit, but Wendy still kept her distance. When the bus came, the two friends still sat next to one another, but as soon as they sat down, Wendy pulled out her headphones and placed them over her ears. She looked out the window, biting her chapped lips. From the corner of her eyes, Wendy could see Taeil fidgeting with his phone, which he soon to a gaming app. Wendy rolled her eyes then continued to look outside. The silence continued between the two, until it was their stop to get off. It was not the stop which led them to their house, as it had become a habit for them to watch a movie afterschool, especially on Fridays. Although no words were exchanged, they both got off the bus and headed towards the movie theater located across the street from the bus stop. When they headed inside, Taeil bought two tickets for the movie that came out not to long ago, while Wendy bought large buttered popcorn for them both, as well as medium coke for Taeil and sprite for herself, with an extra cup. Having entered inside the theater, Wendy and Taeil headed towards the back, near the center. There, Wendy set the empty cup on the cupholder and poured half of her sprite into the cup, then pouring half of Taeil's coke into the same cup. She they gave the two half filled cups to Taeil, who mixed the two drinks as Wendy has done. It seemed like a weird tradition for others, but for Wendy and Taeil, it was one of their best combination of drinks.

Soon the theater became pitched black, and the movie started. The movie was about a man, who had everything, yet when he loses his eye sight due to a rare disease, all the people that were around him for his money leaves, one by one, until he is left only with his childhood friend, whom he had looked down upon due to his poverty. Wendy couldn't help but wonder if Taeil would stay by her side even if she lost her eyesight and was left with nothing. Her eyes started to water a bit when she thought about not having her best friend next to her at all times. It was scary thought and she did not wanted to think about it. She could no longer focus on the movie afterwards, and during the rest of it, she wandered off to her own thoughts.

When the movie ended and they came out of the theater, it started to get dark. Taeil checked his watch, which read 6:48. He realized it was almost time for dineer and felt his stomach growl. Realizing Wendy was no longer by his side as she had left the area without telling him. Taeil ran after her, grabbing her shoulder to stop her when he reached her.

"Hey, wanna grab something to eat before we go?"

Wendy's already big eyes widened, while the corner of rised a bit. But she immediately wiped the smile off of her face.

"Follow me," Wendy chicly said.

Smiling, Taeil trotted after her, hooking his arm around Wendy's neck.

"Hey, stop that," she yelled.

Yet, watching Taeil smile, Wendy couldn't help but smile herself.

"I'm still mad at you, you know," she said.

"I know, but I'm starving so yell at me while we eat please."

"Okay. What do you wanna eat?"

"Hm... Ddeokbokki?"

"DDEOKBOKKI!" Wendy exlcaimed.

Spicy food, like ddeokbokki, was one of food which Wendy could not eat. Her sensitive stomach reacted badly every time she tried to eat something spicy. Taeil, having been her best friend for so long, obviously knew that Wendy could not eat anything spicy.

Irritated, Wendy walked on saying, "I'm going home."

"I'm kidding," Taeil apologized, but visibly smirking. "Let's go eat kimbap. It's on me."

Flashing her teeth, Wendy nodded feverishly. They crossed the street to "Kimbap Heaven" which had many different types of kimbap. Wendy, loving meat more than anything, ordered bulgogi kimbap whereas Taeil ordered Kimbap Heaven's special, which included cheese, spinach, eggs, carrots, and kimchi. As they waited for the order, another silence swept across them, as they remembered the event from this morning.

"I'm sorry," Taeil finally said, after some time of silence. "About this morning."

"It's okay. But I do want to ask, why did you take her side? I know I'm not completely innocent, but it did hurt a little. When you took Sooyoung's side."

"Because... Matters would have gotten worse. She's clearly mistaken and taking your side would only make matters worse."

Wendy bowed her head down. She knew Taeil was thoughtful, yet she had doubted him. And due to her anger, she acted rashly and said that she would be in the movie with Lee Taeyong.

"I have to apologize, too," Wendy finally said.

"For what?"

"When I ran out, I came across Lee Taeyong. He made me decide whether I wanted to take the role or not at that moment, and because I was mad at you, I said that I will."

Wendy looked up to see how Taeil would react. To her surprise, Taeil was smiling.

"Is that okay?" Wendy carefully asked.

"Wendy, I told you already. It's okay. It would be a great opportunity for you and I'm really glad for you."

Wendy felt a pang of guilt in her heart. She always thought she knew Taeil the best, yet at times like this, she didn't feel like she knew him. Knowing Taeil, it was obvious that he would be happy for her, yet she kept thinking and felt bad. She felt as though she was betraying her best friend and didn't think it was the right thing to do.

"When do you start filming?" Taeil asked.

"Well, I'm not sure. But I got my script already and our read through is actually tomorrow."

"That fast?"

"Yea, because all the main actors and actresses had already been chosen. They were just looking for side characters and extras."

"Oh, what's it about?"

Wendy paused a moment, pondering whether she should tell him or not. She had promised Taeyong that she would not share the plotline with anyone.

"Make sure not to share the plot of movie with anyone. Not even your best friend," Taeyong said.
"Why not?"
"We like to keep it a secret so that people are curious about it. Eventually the general plot will be released to the public, but until then, just keep it a secret, please."
"Okay, I will."

Biting her lips, Wendy said, "I can't say."

"Oh," Taeil said, with hint of disappointment shown in his face.

"I'm sorry," Wendy said, bowing her head down. "It's supposed to be a secret so that when it comes out, it'll be fresh and enjoyable for all."

"It's okay, no need to apolgize. I understand. It's like my art work right? How I don't want anyone looking at it until I'm absolutely sure that I'm finished."

"Well... You just simply don't show it to anyone though. Many of them look complete but I haven't seen it."

"But you are always the first one to see it."

"I guess..."

By then, Wendy and Taeil had finished eating their kimbap. Taeil went to the counter to pay for the kimbap and they headed out towards the bus stop.

"How are you going to the read through place?" Taeil asked.

"I asked Irene to drive me already. Or I can always take the bus."

"Right."

On the bus ride home, due to the food coma, Wendy started dozing off to sleep whereas Taeil was wide awake. Even though Wendy was still next to him, he felt as though he had lost her already. Then he thought back to the movie that they saw that day. He thought about the man who lost his eye sight, the people that had left him, and one person that stayed with him.

'Would she still stay by my side? Even if I had nothing?'

Shaking away his thought, he cluthched his backpack closed to him and closed his eyes tight. Taeil strongly believed in Wendy. No matter what, she would be by his side. Nothing would ever separate their friendship. Nothing.

When Taeil reached home, without changing nor washing, he laid down on his bed. It had been a long day. He realized it was the first time that he and Wendy had not talk to each other for almost the whole day. Often when they fought, they made up within an hour, if not few minutes, or even few seconds. He decided that both him and Wendy were tired and stressed from the audition. He knew that was the reason. That was the only valid reason. That was the reason he strongly wanted to believe. That was the only reason that made him feel better.

And then he finally fell asleep, after the long day.

Hello everyone!

After fourth chapter, I finally decided to leave a note. I've seen all of your comments, and actually read over them like 120958639208 times. I love them soooo much so keep commenting (and support me HAHAHA)

But I did have a question... Many of you had predictions, questions, comments, etc, and while they were veryyyy enjoyable to read, I wasn't sure if I should comment on them or not...

Would you prefer that I comment/reply to your thoughts or just leave it as mystery (it would get resolved later in the story, for the most part)?

For those who've already read bits and parts of this story, back when I was so bad at updating, thank you so, so much for keep showing me your supports :'( I'm carefully laying out my story outline, and making sure it's nice and enjoyable for everyone, but it may take some while still (I'm still in school so yea...) I'll try my best to at least update once a week though!

I got hella chatty just now, but oh welps... I hope you don't mind HAHAHA.

As always, thank you so much for reading!

Chapter 1: "And it will stay that way"- this gave me mixed emotions ohmygod. I really look forward to see Taeil's growth as a person in this story. I wonder if he will somehow change and be expressive with his thoughts. It's only the first chapter but it's already so good! Excited for the next chapter :)
