You should have listened (Chaelisa extra)

Home Is Where The Heart Is

Rosé panicked as soon as she turned around with Lisa, still in shock with what she'd just done. Dinner... with Lisa. Just the two of them.

As they walked side by side, silence settled in. It made Rosé grow even more anxious. She didn't know what to say, so she blurted - "I love spring."

Lisa looked at her and chuckled.

"Yes, I'm glad the weather is becoming warmer." Lisa said, resting an arm around her shoulders.

The sudden contact made Rosé's brain glitch. "Yeah, I mean... flowers and all. But allergies."

Rosé had to get a grip on herself. Was she still shaken with the representation offer they'd gotten earlier? Definitely.

They reached the restaurant in no time, but it took some time for Rosé to choose what she wanted to eat.

“I can’t, there’s too many options. Lisa, choose for me.” Rosé gave up, closing the menu and sighing.

Lisa laughed and called the waiter, ordering pho for herself, pineapple fried rice for Rosé, and some spring rolls for both.

“How did you know that was the my main option?” Rosé raised an eyebrow.

“You kept going like oh my god pineapple fried rice, but oh this is good too, but pineapple fried rice... you were only making it difficult for you, since you knew you wanted it.” Lisa pointed her chopsticks at Rosé. "I don't even know why you asked me to do it when you knew what you wanted in the first place."

Rosé bit back an embarrassed smile, scratching her neck. “Maybe you’re right.”

Rosé couldn’t help but widen her eyes when the food came. Without wasting more time, she attacked her fried rice, closing her eyes and letting out a loud sigh. When she opened her eyes, Rosé found Lisa staring at her with a smile. “What?”

“Nothing. I’m glad you liked it.” Lisa answered, proceeding to eat her pho.

“This is seriously so good, I’m almost crying.” Rosé said, feeling her eyes getting warmer. “Look, can you see my tears?”

“Uhum.” Lisa nodded, her eyes fixed on her phone.

“You didn’t even loo-“

“Oh my god.”

“W-What?”

“Rosé...” Lisa turned the phone to her, unable to speak.

It took a few seconds for Rosé to fully understand what it was, and when she did, she gasped, taking her hands to her opened mouth.

“Someone recorded our Whistle performance. Look at the views! It’s even being shared on social media!” Lisa said.

“Oh my god... that’s... amazing.”

“I don’t even know what to say. How did this happen?”

“I don’t know. I’m gonna tell Jennie and Jisoo.” Rosé said, as she sent the both of them a message with the news.

“First a musical producer gives us a professional opportunity, now this? Did we hit jackpot with our song?” Lisa shook her head.

“I don’t know, Lisa, I’m just so overwhelmed I can’t think straight.” Rosé put her phone back on the table and met Lisa’s eyes. “No pun intended.”

They stared at each other until Lisa started laughing, her laugh so genuine and cute it made Rosé laugh along.

“We should eat, or else we're going to eat it cold.” Lisa said, grabbing her chopsticks once more.

“R-Right.” Rosé cleared , doing the same.

The rest of the dinner was spent almost in silence, as they enjoyed their food and drowned themselves in thought.

The night had already fallen when they stepped outside the restaurant.

“Let’s do archery.” Lisa blurted.

Rosé turned to her. “Why archery, all of a sudden?”

“I don’t know, I feel like it. I think there’s a place close by.”

“Okay, lets go.” Rosé answered without even second guessing herself.

“Yes!” Lisa jumped, smiling just the way Rosé pictured she would.

—-

“Let’s make the game more interesting.” Lisa said, as they equipped themselves to play.

“What?”

“The loser will get a punishment.”

Rosé rolled her eyes, but smiled nonetheless. “What punishment?”

“Hm... the loser will have to give a piggyback ride when we leave, and the winner chooses the next destination.”

“Okay.” Rosé agreed. But wait... next destination? They would go somewhere after? Was that a date...?

“I hope you know I’m good at this.” Lisa smirked.

Rosé shrugged. “Let’s see then.”

Rosé wouldn’t mind losing, but she would work hard to win. A piggyback ride from Lisa would be a great way to end the night.

“I didn’t know you were good at this too.” Lisa commented after Rosé hit 8 points.

“I didn’t know either.”

As the game went on, Rosé kept hitting the center, while Lisa was losing focus.

“Aish... whenever I say I’m good at something, it goes bad for me. Why do I jinx myself, really?” She shook her head after hitting 4 points.

Lisa was about to shot her last arrow, and it would decide the winner. If she hit at least 5, she'd win. Before shooting, Rosé wondered if she should be rooting for her to win or to lose. Poor Lisa started so well, so she deserved to win. But at the same time, a game was a game, and the prize at risk was too good. Lisa drew her eyebrows together, raising the bow and preparing for her last shot.

The arrow flew across the air, hitting the target.

“Ah... why am I so bad at this?” Lisa sighed, laughing and shaking her head.

Rosé giggled, patting her shoulder. “You still did good. Now let’s go, you owe me a piggy back ride!”

“Okay, okay, you were better than I expected. Where do you wanna go now?”

“Han river.”

“Han river?! You’re making me carry you all the way to Han river? That’s too cruel, Rosé...” Lisa pouted.

“Yes. The weather is great and I wanna go there.”

Lisa sighed. She squatted and let Rosé climb on her back, circling her arms around Lisa’s shoulders, as Lisa held on her thighs and straightened herself.

“Why are you so heavy?! Maybe eating all that fried rice was a bad idea.” Lisa protested, grunting as she started to walk.

“Yah, Lalisa!” Rosé hit her arm.

“I’m sorry, I was joking!”

Rosé blushed but ignored it, resting her head against Lisa’s and enjoying the ride.

A few minutes had passed and Lisa was setting slower.

“Lisa, put me down, you’re tired.”

“No, a bet is a bet, and I lost. We’re almost there anyway.” Lisa said, panting.

Even though Rosé was enjoying it, she felt bad for putting Lisa through it. It would be better if she just won and Rosé carried her.

“We’re here!” Lisa said, crossing the last street.

“I’m sorry Lisa.” Rosé said, climbing down from Lisa’s back.

“For what?”

“I should have just said no, or lose on purpose so you wouldn’t carry me.”

“You would carry me then, and I would feel sorry too, so, wouldn’t it be the same?” Lisa smiled, sitting down on the grass, looking ahead at the river.

Rosé sat beside her. “Well, yeah.”

“Then you don’t need to be sorry. I’m strong, you know. I’m fine. And I’m glad you chose to come here. Han river at night is beautiful.”

Rosé nodded. The sky was painted with stars and the moon was almost full, reflecting the light in the water, alongside the lights of Seoul.

A head came to rest on Rosé’s shoulder, making her look down.

“Do you think we can make it professionally?” Lisa asked, her eyes still looking ahead.

“I... I want to believe so. But that never even crossed my mind, so, I don’t know.”

“Same. We always did it for fun, I never thought about a day when we could make it as professionals. I mean, we’re talented, I think we could definitely make it work. And now that we have a chance, I really wanna do it.”

“Me too. I can’t even imagine how our lives would change.”

“I guess we’ll have to live it so we know.”

Lisa was right. There was a chance their lives would change drastically. And when, and if that happened, would Rosé still have the courage to tell her how she really felt? Because she had been keeping her feelings inside for too long, and she felt the urge to let them out in that exact moment.

“Lisa.” She called, gulping as Lisa looked up at her. “T-There’s something I need to tell you.”

“What, are you finally going to confess your love for me?” Lisa giggled. “Just kidding, go on.”

Too late. Rosé had frozen in place, her lips apart and her eyes fixed on Lisa’s. She tried to say anything at all, to make any sort of sound, but she was a statue.

“Rosé?”

“Yes.”

“What is it?”

“Yes. I was going to confess. Was it too obvious?”

Lisa chuckled. “Yes, it’s very obvious that you love me. Now for real, what do you need to tell me?”

“That's what I wanted to tell you. I was serious.” Rosé sighed.

“What was serious?”

Growing frustrated, Rosé groaned, feeling a pulse of boldness running through her body, making her lean in, her lips directed at Lisa's. But she stopped herself just a few inches apart and stared into Lisa's widened eyes. She couldn't just kiss Lisa so suddenly and against her will and risk hurting her and their friendship forever. If Lisa didn't feel the same, then...

“This is what I needed to tell you. That I actually... love you.” Rosé said, pulling herself away.

Lisa's hand cupped Rosé’s cheek, as her large round eyes looked down. To Rosé, it started to look like pity. Yes, she was about to let out the "I love you too, just not that way" speech.

But then, Lisa stared up to face her.

"Why did you stop?" Lisa said, barely louder than a whisper, as her hand moved to the back of Rosé’s neck, and she locked her lips with Rosé's.

Rosé was too stunned to even properly move her lips against Lisa's, and before she knew what was happening to her, Lisa had already pulled away.

“I thought you were joking because I thought it was impossible that you liked me back. I didn't want to get my hopes up.”

“Why?”

“Because when you like someone, you never expect them to like you back. Especially if it’s someone like you.” Lisa caressed her face, smiling as she spoke.

“W-What does that mean, someone like me?”

Lisa stared into her eyes and giggled. “Perfect.”

The air turned hot all of a sudden, or maybe it was just Rosé’s face. She didn’t have any possible way to answer that, so Rosé leaned in to kiss her lips again.

“Since when do you like me, Park Chaeyoung?” Lisa asked, pinching her cheek.

“Hey, why are you calling me like that, Pran---”

Lisa clicked her tongue and interrupted her. “Answer my question.”

“Since... it’s been a while.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“You don’t answer a question with a question.” Lisa glared.

“Seems like I just did.” Rosé smirked.

Lisa bit on her lip and launched towards Rosé, making her fall with her back on the grass.

“Like I said, when you love someone, you never expect the person to love you back. That’s why I didn’t say anything.” Lisa explained, laying beside Rosé and resting her head on her shoulder.

Rosé stayed silent. Love.

“I guess I was the same. I’m sorry for taking so long to tell you. Jisoo warned me, but... I was too stubborn.”

Lisa looked up at her.

“Jisoo? She really isn’t as dumb as she looks, is she?” Lisa said, making them both giggle. “Yeah, you should have listened to her.”

“Well, I did. But it took a while. Guess we need to make up for all the time we wasted, right?” Rosé kissed Lisa’s forehead. “I... I love you, Lisa.”

Lisa showed an embarrassed smile, as she hid her face on Rosé’s neck.

“I love you too, Rosé.” She whispered, and she was so cute Rosé couldn’t help but squeeze her body.

“Whatever happens in the future, let’s stay together.”

Lisa nodded, kissing Rosé’s cheek before going for her lips.

Rosé couldn’t wait to tell Jisoo the news. They could even go on double dates now!
