My Saturday morning started off with a bang. Literally. As in Byun Baekhyun decided that it would be nice to wake me up at seven in the morning on my holiday trip, and I was already discounting the fact that it was a weekend. I couldn’t recall exactly what my dream was, but I thought I spotted blotches in my pillow and my bolster looked like it was strangled for a prolonged period of time. Oh right, today would be the first morning of their marriage. So last night was probably the first night of them having guilt-free . Brilliant. More bangs on the door ensued. “Oh stop it Baekhyun it’s a weekend for goodness sake!” An unusually jovial voice greeted me from the other side. “Hence we should try to beat the crowd!” It sounded terribly like Baekhyun was talking with three pieces of toast in his mouth, and that was entirely plausible when it came to the man who dressed me up in a terrible disguise the night before. -- I’ll be frank, I wasn’t packed for Incheon. I mean, I packed for Seoul, and I was intending to fill my holiday trip with depressing music in bars or cafes. Maybe binge watch a Netflix show on some café wifi if possible. Or maybe stay indoors to watch Mean Girls again so that I could vicariously feel Lindsay Lohan revenge upon the es in her life while actually getting a man in the process. The last resort was to stay in my Airbnb and mope while eating ramen or chocolates all day, or both. My extremely fulfilling and motivational plan went to complete waste of course, the moment I agreed to this stranger’s plan. “Baekhyun, why am I meandering through these hills in a cab?” I asked with genuine disinterest, arms folded across my chest. I had barely gotten ready for the day in my groggy state when the chirpy male happily dragged me out of the apartment and quickly hailed a cab while I was still deciding whether this was a nightmare in reality or a nightmare that felt like reality. As the cab fare ticked higher by the distance, I felt like both descriptions might just fit. Where we arrived at was not what I had expected. Baekhyun had brought me to the famed Garden of Morning Calm in Incheon, a flower garden that I was pretty sure I would not appreciate enough and would only deem as overpriced. Honestly for a girl like myself, flowers only ever mattered when they were from someone special. And now that’s not even relevant anymore. “Baekhyun, why are you dragging me here the very moment this place is open? I’m supposed to be sleeping in on my holiday,” a morning me was a disgruntled me. An awake me was also a me who would remember today was their first day as a newly married couple.   “Ouch!” My strange new friend was now waving two sets of tickets and pamphlets in my face, the very ones that he had smacked me out of my mellow daydreams with. “Earth to Jisoo! We aren’t even at gardens yet young lady, where’s your mind flying to now?” Baekhyun snapped his fingers a few times beside both my ears, making sure that I was completely focused on him. I rubbed my sleep-filled eyes, but nonetheless I grabbed the ticket, mumbling a quick thanks about buying the ticket for me. Baekhyun unfolded the map for me, and as much as they had reduced the whole place to a compact and portable and handy map, I was well aware that this place was huge. With stairs and slopes. The first thing I saw in this garden was a giant board that was hard to miss, showing the drama poster of Moonlight Drawn by Clouds, with Park Bogum and Yoo-jung staring blissfully into the Incheon sky above. “Baekhyun, may I protest this abduction? All I want to do is go back to the Airbnb, roll over, mope and watch Park Bogum be the best boyfriend of the century.” I earned another smack from the back of my head, and this time Baekhyun seemed to have given up on arguing with a sulky, barely awake me, so he just lightly pushed me towards the path of the first garden. I supposed a part of him knew too that there was no point in arguing against the almighty Korean national crush, and I waved the humungous Bogum goodbye. I heard Baekhyun snort very loudly. “You haven’t truly experienced Incheon if you’ve not even been through the basic tourist attractions. On your left here, you will see the Home Garden, home to many of the plants unique to our beautiful country –” This was how this journey started and persisted. From the Home Garden to the Herb Garden, then to the Rose of Sharon Garden, where Baekhyun insisted on may photographing a single flower for the longest time and from every physical angle possible. His little self-orchestrated photo-taking session was literally snapping me out of my morning daze. If I had been disoriented during the first few gardens, I was certainly awakened by the unusual antics of my spontaneous travel partner now. I whispered his name softly among the flowers.  Baekhyun.  Byun Baekhyun.  The glow of the morning sun reflected softly on his slightly tanned cheeks, his eye lashes fluttered behind his camera's viewfinder, and I could almost picture his clever eyes darting round for the best picture. That wasn't the point though.  "Baekhyun, why are you in such an odd position?"  Said photographer was in a strange squat with one leg stretched out, sticking his out proudly to balance himself so that he could lower himself to the level of the forna on the ground on the bent leg. I snapped a picture with my phone before I could stop myself, and I would probably to brighten my day up later.  "You aren't really experiencing this place, are you? Treat it like a museum. These gardens were partitioned and meticulously curated by botanists. This place holds the history of a scholar's thought and his vision for this place and country. You're trampling on the poor man's dreams just by putting your mind elsewhere," he mumbled without looking away from his camera. "These flowers are almost begging for your attention blooming so beautifully this way."  I pursed my lips into a thin line. Was I this ob

Chapter 5: I subscribed to this a long time ago actually, with another account and I didn't finish reading it because I wasn't really ready to read about the heartbreak and all. But yeah, damn it stings. Although, in the end I can understand why OC did that for Baekhyun like she said, it may help at least lessen the pain for him but I guess Baekhyun had already don't that for himself after years of doubt and uncertainty in his ldr. Overall, it was a realistically sweet story although quite bittersweet at first but it ended nicely. Great job! hehe
