Byul was watching her back as the older girl jumped happily in front of her, holding the younger by the wrist. She was always seeing the woman from this view, if not, from afar. But this chance was different, she was close to her; too close that she fears the older girl would see through her eyes and know the secrets they’ve been keeping for years. But what could she do, she already fell deep. And she can’t escape, especially when she was too good to her.

Byul was silently praying back then that Yongsun would change and that she would grow to dislike her but fate was really cruel and Yongsun failed to meet her expectations. The woman was still as humble and as kind as ever - not to leave the fact that she grew even more beautiful everyday. And now Byul is more than willing to risk everything to protect the woman. Even her own life.

“Byul… Are you okay?” Yongsun’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts. The older waving her hand in front of her face to wake her. They have stopped walking in the middle of the amusement park.

“Ye-yeah I’m good unnie.” Byul assured while giving a small smile.

“Do you really not want to go to the ferris wheel… It’s fine with m-”

“No-no… It’s not like that.” Byul chuckled.

“Are you sure?”

“I’m pretty sure I am…” Byul grinned.

Out of all the things in the world, Byul hated the ferris wheel. When Yongsun mentioned the ride the younger girl hesitated for a while.

“Byul, I want to go somewhere…”

“Hmmm??? Where Yeba?”

“Yeba?”

“Uh huh….”

“Nevermind…. Let’s go to the ferris wheel..”

Byul froze at the mention of the ride and Yongsun saw how her face turned sour and couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Hey we’ve been to so many rides already and you weren’t scared at all….” The older teased.

“Well…. I’m not scared when the rides go fast cos I won’t see how high we are from the ground.. But uh… The ferris wheel is…”

“Aigoo….” “Come on, you'll be fine... I'll be here okay??" "LEGGOOOO!!"

Just like that, Yongsun pulled her by the wrist as they went on their way to the ride.

There were surprisingly a few people on the line to ride the ferris wheel. In front of them on the line was a couple who was a bit too sweet for Byul’s liking. The younger woman almost puked at the sight of the young couple being mushy with each other.

Anddd here goes the romantics again….

“Yah… You know it’s bad to stare at people right?” Yongsun lightly slapped her arm to call her attention quietly.

“I know, i know but they were being too…. loud… you know”

“Woah calm down Ms. Bitter. ” Yongsun chuckled while Byul was still staring disgustingly at the couple.

“Aww… no worries I’ll find someone for you so you won’t have to stare at people like that…” Yongsun assured while rubbing the younger’s back as if comforting her.

“First of all I’m not bitter unnie, … I was just - you know…. uncomfortable. Second, I highly doubt that you would be able to find someone for me…” Byul turned her disgusted face into a huge grin that almost scared Yongsun.

“And why is that?”

“Hmm… because you're not even dating someone right now, am I right or am I right?”

Yongsun choked on her saliva causing her to cough out loud almost grasping for air.

“See…” It was now Byul’s turn to rub Yongsun’s back. Seconds after Yongsun has calmed down, they continued with their banter causing the couple in front of them to look and stop their lovely interactions.

“Yah!! How dare you disrespect your elder like that?” Yongsun hit Byul’s arm like she was a human punching bag while trying to supress her slightly annoyed voice.

“Sorry Yeba~” Byul managed to say while blocking Yongsun’s punches on her arm.

“Wait… What does Yeba even mean?”

“Do you really want to know??”

“I don’t feel good about it but yes I want to…”

“Pretty fool..” Byul said with her poker face on while poking the older woman’s cheek.

“Wow… The disrespect…” Yongsun said scoffing.

“But it is true unnie… You have to admit it…”

“Nope never gonna do that..”

“Ok but look who left her car again…” Byul clicked her tongue as if disappointed with the woman.

“Hey kid, I AM NOT A FOOL..”

“Yes you are…. and a pretty one at that…”

HOW GREASY ARE YOU REALLY??

“Can I like… punch you in the gut right now?”

“Oh sure... but you’ll have to be my nurse after okay??” Byul winked then released an annoying chuckle. Sometimes, Yongsun forgets that this woman saved her life.

“Fine then…” Yongsun closed her hands to a fist and was about to lightly punch Byul’s stomach but she caught her hand and held it. She opened her palms and Byul interlocked their fingers as she dragged the woman along the line. 

It’s okay Kim Yongsun…. Calm down…

“Come on Yeba..” Byul said as they moved along the line waiting for the ride to stop so they could enter.

Yongsun pulled their locked hands to stop Byul causing the latter to look her way.

“Hey… a-aren’t you s-scared anymore??”

“Uhmm… a bit but… you’re there so…oh hey let’s get in that one.” Byul said while pointing to one of the cabins.

Unlike what Yongsun expected a while ago, Byul was actually doing fine inside the ride. The younger woman was staring outside where the view of the city can be seen, a bitter smile on her face. Meanwhile, Yongsun just stared at the woman sitting beside her as she noticed the smile on the younger’s face.

“Hey…” Yongsun squeezed Byul’s hand causing Byul to look her way.

“Are you good at keeping secrets?” Yongsun asked making Byul tilt her head in confusion.

It’s my job to be…. 

She anwered in her mind.

“I can assure you that I am one of the best people to tell your secrets to…” Byul chuckled.

“Well… It’s actually my first time riding the ferris wheel.” Yongsun said looking down, quite embarassed at her confession. “Never been to one since I was a child… My parents never took us to places like these…. They always wanted to go to extravagant places…”

“Not that I’m complaining… It’s just that I just want to live simply sometimes.” Yongsun smiled finally looking at Byul whose gaze softened.

If you weren’t Kim Yongsun you wouldn’t have to go through all these. But if that’s so then, I wouldn’t have met you...

It was selfish to think of so Byul erased the thoughts from her mind as she laughed bitterly inside. She was never like this, but Yongsun was an exception, she becomes selfish when it comes to her. But how could she not be when the girl is the only one that she has.

“So…. This is your first time right???” Byul finally asked.

“Uh huh..” Yongsun said while leaning to the younger woman’s shoulder who was now doing her best to calm down.

“I’m honored then…” Byul smirked

“Why so?” Yongsun asked while still staying in her position.

“I got to witness Kim Yongsun’s first ferris wheel ride…” The younger woman chuckled receiving a slap on her arm by Yongsun who was now looking at the window. 

Yongsun looked down on the city's view beneath them it was beautiful. Had she known that this view was waiting for them, she could have dragged Wheein to the themed park before.

They were now at the very top and the ride has stopped for a moment for the tourists to take pictures.

“Hey look… We’re at the top!” Yongsun exclaimed.

“Wait… Let’s take pictures…” Yongsun said as she pulled out her phone. She held the phone up and started to count. Just when she was about to press the shutter the younger woman squished her cheeks while looking at the camera with her signature nose muscle smile.

“Hey!!! Why did you do that.” Yongsun said annoyed while looking at the pictre meanwhile Byul was laughing her off.

“Why though??“ Byul struggled to speak while wiping tears off her eyes.

“You look cute in that see??” She said while zooming in Yongsun’s mochi face.

“Yahhh!! You bully!!”

“Why don’t you believe me for once… You really look cute… See?” Byul said while pointing at Yongsun’s phone that was now in her hands. Yongsun was just frowning at her.

“Ok fine… I’ll take another picture okay??”

Byul held the phone up and started counting. Now it was Yongsun’s turn to squish the younger woman’s cheeks while smiling widely at the camera. Now was her turn to laugh.

“Wow… Revenge is really sweet.” Yongsun said while wiping tears from her face.

A few minutes after, the ride started again. While waiting for their cabin to go down, they took more pictures and laughed like kids every time they took one.

Their cabin eventually went down and they got out of their cabin. They were now walking side by side around the themed park and Yongsun noticed that the younger woman turned silent. But she wasn’t sad, her smile didn’t even leave for a while. Yongsun grew tired of walking and they sat down on a bench.

“Hey… Is everything okay?? I told you a secret so you can tell me yours if you want…” Yongsun asked.

“I’m fine...” Byul smiled

“Are you sure?? You’ve been smiling since a while ago and it’s getting kinda creepy now…Just a bit..” Byul chuckled.

“Hey unnie… Can you keep a secret?”

“Uhmmm… That was my line… Anyway, Yes.”

“Well… I kinda hate ferris wheels...”

“Hmm?? Why??” Yongsun said, curiousity painted on her face.

“It’s just that…” Byul paused, trying to find words.

“The last memory I have with my parents was in a ferris wheel. We went to a themed park the night before they were killed.” Byul said smiling bitterly.

“But I think I like ferris wheels now.” She said while finally looking at Yongsun who was now teary-eyed.

“Hey unnie… Wh-why are you crying? I’m the one who’s supposed to be crying….” Byul chuckled while rubbing the older girl’s back. “You’re always crying when I’m with you.” Byul teased, this time she knows what to do with the crying woman.

“I’m sorry… You had to go through all that… I shouldn’t have brought you there.” Yongsun managed to say in between her sobs. She already knows that Byul was an orphan but she couldn’t help but feel bad for the woman especially because she had to live on her own ever since she was young.

“No-no… It’s fine really… Now I have new memories of the ferris wheel because of you. Happy ones...”

“But still.. I-”

“Shh… It’s okay… I'm strong don't worry...” Byul said while embracing the older woman.

Like the first time they met, Yongsun calmed down with the warmth of the younger woman.

"Hey Byul, I know this sounds as greasy as you but, you have me now so just call me when you need anything okay?" 

"I will Yeba~" Byul said grinning

Since it was getting late, they have decided to go home just like most of the people in the themed park. On the drive home, Yongsun slept soundly while Byul was filled with hundreds of thoughts in her mind. Most of them were happy and thankful that she met Yongsun. When they reached Yongsun’s house Byul tapped Yongsun to wake her up. The older woman grumbled not wanting to be disturbed. Byul tried to wake her up again and told her that they have arrived.

“Unnie…. We’re here… Wake up.”

Yongsun finally opened her eyes and was still half asleep when she weakly tried to unbuckle her seatbelt. They both get out of the car.

“Do you want me to carry you??” Byul asked genuinely.

“Ye- No. No, I’ll be fine on my own. Thank you Byul-ah.” Yongsun was now fully awake.

“You sure?”

“Uhh huh.. I’ll be going… Thank you Byul-ah.”

“Ohh.. You’re calling me that now huh??”

“Yes… Why?”

“Nothing… I like it…” Byul grinned.

Here she goes again…

“Thank you unnie…” Byul suddenly hugged the older woman just like how she did back at the cafe, only this time, Yongsun was able to return back the hug and it meant a lot for Byul.

“Don’t worry about paying me back anymore okay?? Just... think of this as your payment… How about that?” Byul suggested after they broke the hug.

“Okay then..." "If you say so.” Yongsun smiled widely.

“Drive safely, okay??”

“Yes ma’am…. See you..”

Yongsun waved off Byul and watched as she drove away before she entered her house. It was only then that she realized that she was still wearing Byul’s coat. She made a mental note to wash it before returning it to her.

After Yongsun finished washing up her sister called again.

“Hey brat… Still awake??” Yonghee asked rather softly.

“Yes unnie and why??”

“Have you decided yet who to bring to the gala??”

“I didn’t even say I’m going to bring one.” Yongsun chuckled.

“Oh come on...”

“Ok fine… I might bring someone with me… But it’s not yet final so don’t freak out yet..”

“YESS!! Finally… so who’s the unlucky guy?”

“What? NOO!! Definitely not a guy.”

“Whoa chill down sweetie you just sounded like a man-hater there. Anyways update me when you already asked them okay??”

“Fine but you better bring one too okay??”

“Deal. Night Yongsun-ah...”

“Same to you unnie.”

Minutes after their call, Wheein sent a message to Yongsun.

From: Comanie ^_^

Hey unnie did you enjoy my little gift to you? ;) ㅎㅎㅎ

Yongsun read the message while shaking her head lightly.

“This kid really…” Yongsun smiled while typing a reply before falling to deep slumber.
