JENNIE's POV

Another boring day in school 

Also these two made the day even more boring

The three of us are together but these two can't even face each other nor talk to each other. I studied their actions and I noticed something

Both of their lips are swollen and Chaeyoung has red marks all over her neck. Other's can't clearly see it because of the makeup. Lisa on the other hand has some sort of hangover. Her head is still aching since who knows when. There's only one question to these evidences

Did something happen to these two again?

I know Chaeyoung is straight so as Lisa. Lisa is the type of girl that drinks a lot whenever she wants to while Chaeyoung never even drank once since she said it isn't holy as expected from our church girl. I really can't think and figure out why did they even each other especially when Chaeyoung is religious as and is against their beliefs unless if you're married

I guess I have to leave them alone and let them sort things out themselves

"I'll leave both of you alone to fix whatever problems you have against each other" I told them before leaving the scene. I looked back again to check if they're talking or not but I found something interesting

Both of them are gone. I wonder where they went and what they did

We never know

I hummed silently as I walked around as I made my way to the music room. Once I arrived, I immediately closed the door and sat where the piano is. It's been a long time since I touched the keys

I started to play some random notes and without even realizing it, I managed to create music even if I barely touched the keys for years

I continued on and played more notes. My fingers aren't even tensed up and it's just moving on its own, playing every note that comes from my brain without even stopping. It just keeps going on and on until my fingers slowed down and stopped playing

"And here I thought I wouldn't meet you here Jennie" That deep husky voice that I really can't forget

It's him 

The person whom I thought was the one for me

And that's Kim Hanbin

"And what the hell are you doing here?" I asked, my eyes full of hatred locked to his full of guilt. We had a past, it was the best thing I've ever experienced but it never ended well. Boys will always be boys and nothing can change that. They come, make you fall in love with them and then they'll go away without saying a thing

"Seems like your music finally brightens up huh?" He said while smiling. I looked straight into his brown eyes reading whatever emotions I can read

The way he smiled and the look of guilt and hope present in his eyes

"Are you trying to reconcile with me, Kim Hanbin?" I asked, my eyes locked to his 

"Don't take this the wrong way of reconciliation Jennie. I just want to be friends" He said as he walked towards my direction

I studied him carefully to see if what he says is true or not. I can't really trust someone who lied to me several times already. I want to make sure that every decision I make, it won't hurt the people I love and my own feelings

Being friends with him is alright, right? After all, he has a life and he is probably with someone now. I can't stick around with Chaeyoung and Lisa forever, they have their own world too

"Will you be my friend again Jennie ah?" He asked, with his hand asking for a handshake

Nothing is wrong with this right?

"Just friends nothing more. Understood?" He nodded as I shook hands with him

"Just friends nothing more just like how we were before" He smiled and I just shot a smile back at him. It reminded me of the first day we met

FLASHBACK

"Eomma! I'll just play at the playground at the park!" I told eomma before running at our front gate

"Be careful sweetie ok? Come back before sunset" She instructed before I ran off

I went to the playground and played with random kids that went there. We played hide and seek. This one guy is the seeker so I need to hide somewhere I can't be seen. He started counting and then the rest of us ran off to our hiding spots

I ran off away from the park and went to the forest area near our house. No one will be able to find me here 

I sat and leaned against the tree, waiting for the seeker to find me. I stared at the sky and daydreamed about the future, without realizing I've fallen asleep

"BAH" 

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" I screamed and hit the guy who did that

"Woah woah chill! I'm not a bad dude" I look at the guy and realized he's just one of the kids whom I played with earlier

"Wait, what's happening? Why is there no sun?"

"The other kids we played with went home already but I stayed to find you" He said

So he stayed to find me? But why will he stay for me when we don't even know each other yet?

"But why?"

"I want to be friends with you" He smiled and offered his hand

"Will you be my friend?"

There's nothing wrong being friends with strangers, right?

"Just friends, nothing more, not even best friends, understood? My name is Jennie" I told him and he just nodded. I held his hand and stood up

"And my name is Hanbin" He introduced himself as we shook hands

Nothing is wrong being friends with a boy right?

Right?

END OF FLASHBACK

I smiled at the memory. We were still around 8 that time and we were still enjoying life. I never thought I'd fall in love with him but I did

"Well, you have a lot of things to tell me. I've heard from hyung you were with a girl yesterday" 

I hate oppa why the would he tell Hanbin? And how the heck did he even know?

"The heck? I never said a thing to hom how the -"

"Your mom duh. Anyways you gotta tell me what's going on cause I know there's something going on" He smirked

I hate him

"There's nothing Hanbin" I raised an eyebrow at him to stop him from smirking  

"Oh? Why were you playing a love song that you created just a while ago? And besides, you haven't played for years after I left you" He mentioned something about our past but I wasn't even affected 

But why?

"Nah Hanbin nothing really. I need to leave now I still need to go somewhere" I told Hanbin and went outside

"Deny with your mind but you can't deny your heart Jennie. Remember that" I heard him say before I left

Deny with your mind but you can't deny with your heart? What is he trying to say? 

I may be smart, but I literally have no idea what the heck does Hanbin mean earlier

Seriously, what are you trying to say
