“You want to dispute the terms of our agreement?”
“I want to reclaim my life.”
“You gave it up to me the day you said yes.”
“I want it back.”
Chanyeol smirked at Baekhyun, leaning back into the armchair comfortably. “That’s not how it works. You are unmistakably mine.”
“What will you do if I leave?”
“I will find you, and I will tear you from limb to limb,” Chanyeol purred, swirling the red wine in his glass.
It was Baekhyun’s turn to look smug. “You wouldn’t,” he said confidently, eyes twinkling with mirth.
“I want to say ‘try me’, but no, not really. Don’t leave,” Chanyeol frowned, his voice suddenly sounding low and serious. “Don’t you dare leave.”
Baekhyun stared at the hourglass, at the sand that was slowly falling into the other half, and he stood up from his chair.
“Time is not on my side anymore, Yeol. You know that.”
Chanyeol watched silently as Baekhyun walked out of the door and shut the door behind him. With a loud clang, the wine glass in his hand slipped from his grasp and shattered into a million pieces on the marble floor.
Tick tock tick tock tick tock.
Time was not on their sides anymore.
