Mina stands at the entrance of the living room, eyes tracing the girl’s sleeping figure, silent tears streaming down her face. She has done this so many times; she has spent countless nights standing in the shadows, watching over Jeongyeon as she cries herself to sleep. They’ve been friends for years, and she has been falling in love with her over and over again, locking her feelings deep down inside her heart, so no one would know of them, because those were feelings she was not supposed to feel.

The first time they kissed, Jeongyeon was so wasted, whimpering Nayeon’s name as they broke apart. She felt it pierce her heart, painfully twisting endlessly as Jeongyeon cried, asking her why she didn't love her anymore; why she barely came home; where has she been; where did they go so wrong.. Mina didn’t know if Jeongyeon was too intoxicated to notice that it was not Nayeon she was talking to, or if Jeongyeon didn’t realize Mina was there at all. It killed her either way, so she stood up to leave, but Jeongyeon pulled her down and kissed her again. It was passionate, painful, and it burned. 

Jeongyeon didn’t break up with Nayeon, because she loved her too much, she loves her too much to be the one to leave, and when it gets too hard, she finds herself in Mina’s bed, Nayeon’s name more often than Mina’s, pretending that they feel the same, they smell the same, th
